  1. Deary me indeed. What a horrendous first half of football that was. We have played our part in producing such a terrible spectacle - way too much aimless shelling of the ball straight onto the nappers of Obileye and Devlin.
  2. Four more new faces sounds about right assuming no one else is leaving - I would say at least two need to be in defence. I know it's a predictable annual waiting game with the transfer window, but it never fails to frustrate when so many deals go down to the wire. We have six competitive games before the window closes.
  3. Roos made 6 fairly routine saves today. One of your missed open goals was given as offside. Other than Forrest’s miss, I can’t recall another chance that had me mopping my brow. The better team on the day won - not one post on here says otherwise. But jambos milking the stats to try and imply today was a cigars oot scoosh is hilarious data voyeurism.
  4. The better team won today via two very good goals - no complaints. The second was definitely onside. Pollocks only mistake of the game was to be caught a couple steps too deep wide right as Cochrane fired in the cross. Considering our squad limitations, I thought the first half was going perfectly until the equaliser. Watkins, Miovski, and Clarkson were linking up really well and giving us effective out balls and counters. That blaster of a goal just before half time probably felt like a body blow given how well we had defended to that point. For all the good work Miovski does outside the box, he undermines it with his poor return in the box - he just seems to lack that touch-n-hit instinct. I agree with the view that his attempt at winning a pen from Sibbick when clean through was a cringy embarrassment - a more effective striker just gets set and pulls the trigger there. FWIW I thought the Haring trip on Watkins was a pen. “played for it” or “made the most of the contact” happens all over the pitch all the time - it doesn’t mean it’s not a foul. Looked like a clumsy trip to me on the replays. Morris was frustrating. Incredible pace but zero left foot or enough quality on his right foot in key moments. For me, he epitomised the state of our bench today and squad in general. We have the core of a very good team but the rest are way short of being good enough to make any impact. It’s incredible Robson has dragged this mob into 3rd. Special mention to Roos and Clarkson who I thought were superb today. Fair play to the Hearts TV commentary team too - very balanced.
  5. Morris is painful viewing too. Three times he has been picked out in tremendous positions and made a complete 4rse of it. Left foot only for standing on.
  6. Aye. Screamer. Based on the way we have been defending, a howitzer into the top corner was probably the only way through. The lad Oda has certainly been world class at foul purchases today. That’s a worry when he is up against a booked Jonny Hayes. Watkins needs to keep the heed too. Based on some of the soft as sh1te penalty decisions that have gone against us this season, kinda surprised Harings trip on Watkins didn’t get a closer review.
  7. I had heard a lot of good things about Allardice but he was stinkin’ last night. I thought he looked really unfit and sluggish. Welsh wasn’t much better beside him. When your entire centre midfield is posted missing like that, you are going to struggle. I presume Carson is a fan’s favourite? He was everywhere last night when he came on. Looked like the sort of player who for what he lacks in talent he makes up for in guts and effort?
  8. Inconsistency? As far as I can see Caley have been pretty consistent since the turn of the year. Looks like you had only lost 3 games in 20 going into last night, including papping a few premiership teams out the cup, and you are comfortably top of the 10 game form table. That would suggest there was no serious issue with motivation or consistency over the last > 4 months. Last night too many of your players just didn’t turn up - they bottled it.
  9. This. I think some folk on here were watching a different game to me last night if they are blaming Dodds for the defeat(I was nearby and went along as a neutral). Too many players were well off it in the first half yesterday. How many times did Allardice get rolled or over commit and miss his challenge opening up the lines? Welsh was poor and had little impact. Deas and Devine were getting rag dolled by Akinyemi all night. Along with Ridgers they were also guilty of terrible distribution too often. And where do you start with last weeks hero Danny Mackay? What a sh1tebag he looked. Same shape, different personnel in the second half and they looked much better. Carson gave some much needed energy and bite to centre mid. Samuels shifted defenders around with his pace and movement. Shaw and Harper were your best over the 90mins - thought they were very good. Dodds might have made some mistakes over the course of the season (I couldn’t comment), but it was the Caley players sh1t’n the bed in the first half last night that cost you the result. You made a decent fist of it in the second half but Ayr managed the game out well and landed a sickener of a sucker punch late on when ICT had sounded the bugles.
  10. Damn right. The extra game tacked on to Shinnie's ban really sticks in the craw now.
  11. It probably doesn't bode well for the appeal when you hear Stuart Dougal saying this. That said, I have seen others quite rightly point out the Nicky Clark red card that was over turned - not hugely dissimilar. Ryan Jack got away with a yellow for landing the studs on Montgomerie's ankle in the same game after a VAR check too. Just in case anyone had any doubts that Baldwin isn't a dirty hoor and capable of trying to leave some studs on Shinnie (he definitely fekin was IMHO), I will leave this here. The compliance gadgies could still pop a card in the post for Baldwin yet..... possibly triggered by a review following Shinnie's appeal.
  12. Agree with that. Barbour is unquestionably trying to land a dull one on Shinnie (and does) as he knows he is never winning the ball - it’s not even close. If VAR wasn’t just myopically focused on who is flailing aboot like a fairy and must be the victim, then they both get reds for making contact with the studs. I’m maybe a juniors dinosaur, but I just can’t see anything beyond “play on” here.
  13. What guff is this? Baldwin had zero chance of getting the ball. None. Zero. He lunged into that in an equally, if not more, dangerous way. Play on and stop being such VARsholes.
  14. He is running at full speed like a train and trying to ride the blatant block by Dunne. The latter disna have a cut, bruise, or a keeker. It was a glancing contact by virtue of the circumstances.
  15. If there is substance to the suggestions he upset the players, I actually think that underlines that they are unprofessional pea hearted sh1tebags. Would be very interested to know who went in to bat for Goodwin and convinced the FMB that he was worth a final shot. They clearly didn’t read the (dressing) room. Hayes?
  16. As much as I want to join in with a BBC shortbread whinge, they have a point. The players are most definitely not blame free here. The Rangers games aside, they chucked it weeks ago.
  17. Inclined to agree. The players were an utter disgrace today. They had a final chance today to play their guts out to try and save their managers job and restore a bit of their own pride after Mondays farce. But they rolled over and played like thoroughbred sh1tebags.
  18. What a laughable, yet fully predictable, first half performance. We are a team of imposters and sh1te bags.
  19. I was at the game today as a neutral and thought he was decent. Nothing over elaborate - just effective at shifting into space and getting on with the business of fizzing in dangerous crosses. He will notch up plenty assists at this level if Caley can keep strikers fit. Agree with the other comments about the game. Scrappy and even for first 30 mins or so. At that point it looked to me like Longstaff was best placed to be the difference between the sides. A couple of quick goals later, Cove melted and Caley had almost total control from then on. Home win never looked in doubt. I was underwhelmed by Daniel Mackay though and would be frustrated watching him every week playing on the left like that. Clearly not interested in using his left foot even when in great positions to do so. His shooting was terrible and he was getting out muscled by Longstaff constantly. He did seem very effective at conning incredibly soft free kicks though…… which I think resulted in the 1st and 2nd goals.
  20. Aye, that was some hit. But utterly embarrassing that we went circa 70mins between our only two shots on target.
  21. Looks like a dead cert for our form clocking in 6 points from 24 after tonight. This run of form is already notably worse than the one that ultimately saw Glass sacked. I can't really see it being much, if any, better after the visit of Ross County and St Johnstone. Does he get the transfer window to try and salvage this or is the eject button required now?
  22. 48 mins of brutal viewing. That had all the hallmarks of a team who have given up trying to keep their manager in a job. Shocking effort from 11/12 passengers.
  23. Here we go again. Kili could justifiably be 3-0 up already here. Utter dross.
  24. Hard to see on my stream but did appear to go straight through him. Another farcical self inflicted penalty to concede though.
