  1. With us having been unlucky (and by that I mean chucked away points in the most ridiculous fashion) against Raith so far this season, finally winning a game on Friday night, and the new manager looking set to be announced giving us that all important bounce, there's every reason to think we're capable of getting something from this so I'm predicting that we lose 4-1.
  2. Dodgers have signed Teoscar Hernandez too now. Can't wait to see them get unceremoniously bounced in the NLDS by a team that won 87 games. How many championships do they need to win in the next 10 years or so for all this spending to not be seen as a failure? Got to be a minimum of 3 surely?
  3. Aye, I've a feeling he might be slightly embarrassed at his name being associated with a team that's been struggling as badly as we are. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we make a few very good (and expensive) signings this month.
  4. That's exactly the sort of player Paton needs up front with him right now. Would take him without a moment's hesitation.
  5. Thomas's wages are nowhere near as high as people like to speculate; all 3 of those clubs could absolutely afford them. The issue is that he's under contract until 2025, and I can't imagine any of them paying a fee to sign him, nor should we be be entertaining any offers at this stage of the season.
  6. Hopkin's role is purely advisory, he's not getting (or even interested in) the job.
  7. Nuijten is a very likeable guy and a good coach, and it would be a shame to lose him altogether. I think he has genuinely brought something different to the first team compared to Veldman (even if there have still been massive issues) and for him to leave the club due to being put in a position he was never supposed to be in would be disappointing, assuming he wants to stay. I hope they can find a role for him again when a new manager is appointed.
  8. Ruari Paton is one of the most talented strikers in this league, and he works his arse off every single week. The fact that he's joint top scorer in a side that couldn't win a game for 4 and a half months says a lot. I cannot believe there are Queen's Park supporters who criticise the way he plays; getting him on a 3 year deal was incredible business.
  9. Got injured then Ferrie came in and had been even better than last season (when he was in the Championship team of the year).
  10. Hopkin is not linked with or getting the job. He's been helping out the caretaker manager since he took over (which in itself is concerning obviously).
  11. This sort of game is a perfect example of just how pathetic the alleged redevelopment of Lesser Hampden has been. Friday night, on TV, we haven't won in 15 games, and there will still be at least 500 more people at the game than could have attended if it were there.
  12. He's apparently been trying to encourage the team and assist the interim manager, with no chance of him getting the job. From what I've heard there should actually be a relatively promising appointment potentially this coming week, with signings to the follow. We'll see about that.
  13. I guarantee you'll change your mind about how winnable this game is very, very early on. Our lineup is mental for what should be a game we're going out to win.
  14. I still think that was one of our worst performances yet tbh, probably top 5 anyway which in a run of 15 winless games is bad.
  15. I haven't watched them against anyone else, but both times they've come back to beat us late on it has been self inflicted - mental subs, stupid fouls (including an injury time penalty), and ridiculous naivety from a team that has absolutely no idea how to see out a result. We should probably have taken at least 4 points from them. I can't imagine it's been the same for all of their comebacks though; the key is quite clearly that they made a lot of quality signings in the summer and their squad has the depth (and right attitude) to dig in even late into games. Most of us are making substitutions that ultimately weaken the quality on the pitch, but the same can't be said for Raith.
  16. It's very obviously been a disaster so far due to our squad being built on sheer arrogance, but the fact that we haven't won a game since mid-August and would only really need to string 2/3 wins together for things to start looking up is hilarious. Still think we'll finish 10th though. I have zero faith in the club to appoint the right manager or bring in the players we need to make a go of it in the second half of the season.
  17. We'll go 1-0 up, look semi competent for a while, concede a daft goal (likely from a corner) then forget how to play football completely and lose 2 or 3-1.
  18. Paton and Turner are both a yellow away from a one game suspension. Spong has surprisingly only been booked three times in the league. Hopefully by the time Paton does get suspended we'll have another striker in, but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath...
  19. No, but I feel fairly confident in saying that a better manager would've taken more than 1 point from these 4 games. Nuijten already sounds utterly defeated in his interviews so there's no chance he's inspiring the players and filling them with confidence either. On top of that he has no experience with recruitment, something we cannot afford to get wrong this month.
  20. I can't agree with this whatsoever. While the result against United was fine in isolation, we also had moments under Veldman where we all thought we'd turned a corner and that turned out not to be the case. Morton away was just about as depressing an attempt at breaking down a team with 10 men as you'll ever see, and the second half against Airdrie may very well have been the worst 45 minutes of football we've played all season. We need a brand new head coach as soon as possible with totally fresh ideas, who can ideally teach the defence how to stop conceding quite so many horrendous goals and bring in his own players to shore up a squad which is simply not cut out for this level of football. While Nuijten does deserve credit for trying something different at Firhill, I'm genuinely very surprised that you think he's the right man to take this team which finds itself in a very perilous situation forward and hopefully avoid relegation.
  21. Our lineup today is quite frankly terrifying against a side that has found it so easy to score against us recently. This will be a massacre.
  22. It's a very different situation to when he came in last time though. That team was massively underachieving and hadn't had a real manager all season until Coyle arrived, whereas this squad simply isn't cut out for the Championship. January is massive in that we need to bring in at least 3/4 better players who can slot straight into the starting lineup. He was responsible for the signings of both Stephen Eze and Jason Naismith last season, so I can't say I have a great deal of confidence in his ability to get the recruitment right. This isn't to say I didn't thoroughly enjoy his time at the club, or that I think it was the right decision to show him the door so we could become a full time youth team, I'm just not convinced he's the answer to our problems right now.
  23. I want you to put the word out there that we back up
  24. Lamar proving to absolutely everybody why he was worth that contract. They're so solid defensively and offensively, got to be favourites for the Superbowl at this rate.
  25. He's under contract for the 24/25 season too so I'd like to think if clubs are interested we'll hold out for a decent fee and a sell on clause.
