  1. Hawick giving Wales a tanking here
  2. He'd maybe have been in the odd squad, as Southgate seems to like giving different players a chance in Nations League games and friendlies - calling up boys like Phillips from Leeds after playing in the championship and Conor Coady spring to mind. I saw an article about him a while ago before he'd played for Man United and was still in youth teams, where he'd said he probably felt more Scottish than English, so it does seem like he chose us because he wanted to play for us rather than not fancying his chances of playing for England.
  3. One of the best midfielders in the Premier League on current form, has come on leaps and bounds even since November. Would be a bit of a waste to play him out of position. When was the last time we had an English born player playing for us, who would actually get a game for England had they chosen to play for them?
  4. Video on Twitter sadly, the c**t's zoomed in on it for 30 seconds. f**k knows what type of person thinks that's acceptable.
  5. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/02/us/snow-shoveling-dispute-murder/index.html The full video of that is kicking about on Twitter. Consider myself pretty desensitised to videos like that but i sat gobsmacked watching it. f**k living in that bonkers country where any nutter with a short fuse can walk into his house and come back with an assault riffle.
  6. Got quite excited seeing a photo of him holding up a Villareal shirt, however it's the B team he's signed for, he's there on loan until the end of the season. Quite a weird career he seems to be carving out for himself over there.
  7. The Quickly Kevin podcast's interview with James Richardson is a great insight into how the whole thing came about and has a few fascinating stories from behind the scenes as they were making it etc. Gazza was originally meant to be presenting it, with James Richardson just being a producer behind the camera, they quickly realised they couldn't really rely on Gazza, so Richardson, who had never been on TV before and who knew next to f**k all about football ended up presenting it. Richardson also had no idea of his popularity and that he had a bit of a cult following over here, due to him being out in Italy the whole time where he was anonymous. https://play.acast.com/s/quicklykevin/jamesrichardson-s03e01
  8. The one with McCartney was brilliant. Generally found him to be quite dull in interviews just due to him constantly being asked surface level 'what it was like being in The Beatles' type stuff but i think that was probably the best interview i've heard him do. Something weirdly fascinating and humanising about hearing one of the most famous and iconic musicians ever talk about watching Storage Hunters and Mock the Week. Aside from the Connolly interview, his ones with Bob Mortimer are very good too.
  9. 'I am a woman of the land' patter the woman in that video was hitting out with is straight from covid thicko Facebook, and was being spouted by the same folk who thought putting a copy of the Magna Carta (or magna carter as some of them thought it was called) in your shop window bypassed any restrictions. For this reason i think she was half wanting a bit of a confrontation with the police so she could show off her wee trick she had read online to catch them out. At the same time i think the Policeman really doesn't help himself by being a bit of a w**k, and there was really no need for the situation to escalate the way it did.
  10. Him getting permanently punted from Twitter weirdly feels like quite a landmark moment. Sure we'll see a DT2456331134 account pop up any minute now. Don't think you'll be the only big name making a Parler account this weekend Matt.
  11. Good thread that. Similar applies to the way TV and radio shows over here always have a devils advocate type in the name of balance, on even the most extreme topics.
  12. Just realised this women has what appears to be an onion in her towel there. Maced right enough. Incredible patter.
  13. The current line from the nutters on Twitter seems to be that Antifa are sending folk disguised as Trump supporters to cause trouble, even saying that anyone with their cap on backwards is from Antifa, as it's something they 'use to identify themselves'.
  14. The video of the lassie getting shot is bad enough but the photos and video of them trying to treat/resuscitate her outside are brutal.
  15. Seems some of the rioters are starting to go home. Dissapointing.
  16. F**k sake i've had enough. Major London 2012 vibes from that.
  17. I quite enjoyed that, the old clips were a reminder that it was actually quite funny at one point, but also how much it has dropped off. Probably should've chucked it years ago, as others have said Scottish football can be a bit of a patter goldmine, which OAE has somehow completely missed the mark on for years.
  18. I prefer to aye. In my head it was just left the way it was. I actually think Life on the Road might be an interesting insight into how much of The Office came from Stephen Merchant, or at least an insight into what The Office would've been like without him reigning Gervais in.
  19. Got a few different bottles delivered yesterday, mostly German and Belgian stuff. Kicking off with this tonight. The good gear. Few of those will no doubt lead to the Aldi Baileys getting cracked open (the real good gear).
  20. Fairly similar situation with my friends and family. Not me personally but in the last 4 days my brother and his wife, my uncle and about 5 different pals are all either having to isolate due to contact or have actually tested positive, after only about a handful of folk i know getting it all year. It feels a bit like it's ramped up out of nowhere.
  21. The Common Ridings in the Borders are great piss ups, although it is amusing how seriously parts of the community take them, particularly the auld timers. The women riders debate in Hawick that's been mentioned above is a good example of this, there are folk in that town whose entire personalities revolve around the Common Riding. The tradition side of it is nice but when you move away from the Borders and get a sense of perspective it all becomes very funny.
  22. I find the whole thing quite fascinating, they put the whole thing down to some sort of scientific/sociological theory when in reality, if you're a bit unhygienic, not in the best nick, lacking in confidence, awkward and spend most of your days on 4chan - you probably won't have the opposite sex swarming all over you, who knew? I put them in a similar category with the pick up artist wrong uns who seem to think you have to hack into a lassies brain to get her to be attracted to you as opposed to, y'know, talking to them and not being a total weirdo. I do browse Reddit a fair bit, but find the amount of weirdo/incel type pity-me chat you see infiltrating even completely unrelated subreddits to be a bit off putting, and probably one of the reasons i spend less and less time on it.
  23. Max Rushden who does the Guardian Football Weekly podcast told this exact story a while back about being at the game when he was wee as an England fan, secretly wishing he was in the Scotland end. It's often brought up in reference to how ourselves and Ireland always seem to have a bit more of a laugh, compared to the patio furniture - flinging England away support.
  24. Honestly how good is that? i can't stop watching these. I've had a permanent grin on my face all day. Also 'Get the GBX on' from Tierney, some boi
