  1. Great post by FF and I can feel your pain buddy, it's not a nice position to be in. I just can't understand how you have gone from the role model "I wish my club was ran like that" club to where you are now......especially when you have had a decent secondary income coming in with The Shire renting Ochilview. I do hope you are more Forfar next season, pushing for Play Offs and winning football games rather than Cowdenbeath, but time will tell. I'm no expert but I suspect with regards to SFA/SPFL funding this might be correct however, I would also guess there is a huge difference in income through the turnstiles. Our last season in League 1, we had to open the East Stand for every game (except Peterhead) because every team brought numbers that required it. In League 2, other than yesterday against Arbroath, that Stand has only been opened for games against Clyde. Stenny will be lucky to have good Home gates against Clyde and ourselves however away from that, you'll be lucky to have anymore than a bus load turn up.
  2. Unconfirmed rumours on Rave On that Chris Smith, Ross McMillan and Darren Petrie have been released. Going by Twitter, Dylan Bikey appears to be returning to France ( [emoji22] ).
  3. Dave Mackay in today's Stirling Observer saying there will be a huge turnover of players this summer and that he has already made his mind up on who is leaving. Let the interest begin [emoji41]
  4. A little snippet in today's Sun: "Stirling Albion are ready to offer a new deal to former Rangers striker Andy Little. The Northern Ireland cap, 27, is now at home recovering from a fractured skull and eye socket. Little's current Binos deal is up at the end of the season but boss Dave Mackay is keen for him to sign again. Mackay said "Andy is hoping to come over to watch our final game against Arbroath a week on Saturday. We'd be keen to extend his deal."
  5. Jake pretty much sums it up by saying alright. Hasn't set the heather on fire and doesn't look like a player who could play at a higher level just yet but has done well enough to suggest he has a future in the game at a lower level at least.
  6. Absolutely and congratulations on your success in doing so. I personally think Edinburgh have shown everyone that, with a bit of ambition, the new pyramid set up should be welcomed by every "non-league" club and hopefully it will convince some of the big hitting Junior teams to jump ship. So, considering you absolutely ran away with the league last year, in playing standard how big a jump have you found League 2 from the Lowland League and how have you found it as a spectator in comparison?
  7. It's because you're not playing "the Arbroath way".
  8. Would back this up. As many people will be aware, we don't have an internet TV channel so as a supporter, we have to rely on other clubs broadcasting the games. Always enjoy the Arbroath package when we meet, so well done.
  9. Next seasons away shirt announced. It wasn't my choice but I do like it.
  10. Makes sense to me mate, especially considering how many times it's actually worn. I actually like them all for different reasons but Tabit is the only one I would actually buy so that got my vote.
  11. Of course I don't, that's why I said "the Clyde board seem".
  12. The Clyde board seem to have a lot of similarities to that of Stirling's. They did all the right things and backed their man in every way possible, and in all the right ways.....however, they were doing it for someone who wasn't actually the right man.
  13. Just watched the Elgin City highlights and it's another lovely goal for Sean Dickson. The turnaround in him since the start of the year has been astonishing. He looks a totally different player to the one we have watched for the last season and a half. I never thought I'd ever say this, but if he can keep up this level of performance then I hope he signs on again for another year.
  14. Johnston got a 2 year deal, wow!! That guy must be one of the luckiest lower league players ever, honestly. Absolute bobbins but always manages to pick up a deal from some hapless manager just because he has pace.
  15. What a minute's, wait a minute......what about someone who can actually Defend?
  16. I would love to come out with a smart answer to this, but if the truth be told, for as bad as Ferns is, he would probably be an improvement in our squad at the moment, which says more about the players Mackay has brought in rather than Ferns ability. You'll see for yourself next week.
  17. To be fair on the lad, he's not a winger either.
  18. Any news with what's happening to Moses Olanrewaju since his trial at the club?
  19. Moses Olanrewaju, recently released by ourselves, training with Edinburgh City in the hope of being offered a deal.
  20. 3 out of the 4 Defenders in both games were signed by Mackay, only 1 was signed by McLaren (McMillan).
  21. I suspect......and it's 100% pure speculation....that we are waiting for a striker to come into a club before they send someone out on loan to us. I could be wrong but the fact that Mackay has known that Bikey was leaving this month and has not moved to secure a deal for someone else makes me think that we are waiting on something to happen. With Henderson not hitting the goal scoring charts like he did at Berwick and Darren Smith being continually injured and having never been a regular amongst the goals, I really do fear for our "play off push" or "relegation battle" if we can't bring someone in who can hit the net regularly. Must admit I am still stunned at the way things have turned out with Henderson and although I have seen nothing to suggest it will happen, I keep my fingers crossed that somehow he can turn the corner sooner rather than later..
  22. Henderson sums up everything about Stuart McLaren's team in 1 signing. He can't defend, he rarely scores, has little movement, is slow building up play but can normally make a pass within 5 yards.
  23. Bikey on the bench for Hearts against Celtic today.
  24. David Verlaque the latest player to leave the club. Thought he started off looking like a player but he seems to have gone backwards since. Wish him well for the future however and hope he can find somewhere to play regularly.
