  1. I hope Brown Ferguson is thinking the same. Pllllleeeeaaasssseeeeee
  2. To be honest he was pretty "meh" in truth. Was by no means poor but it's hard to think of anything of note that he did. I wish him well, but I can see why Mackay has decided he could do without him. As for signing for Stenny, I'm sure the fans would love to see him back but I don't think he's a League 1 player these days, if he is, he didn't show it for us. He always impressed me when I watched him play against us, but I didn't see the same player playing for us. Suspect he'll not be the last to leave this season.
  3. Is that the same Josh Walker that was on loan at Bournemouth for a month or two from Middlesbrough....maybe about 2008(ish)??
  4. I've no idea how contracts work and like many, I can only guess....you can only take Stuart Brown at his word that what he says is in place. I don't think the club is stopping him furthering his career elsewhere however. On the contrary. Bikey was on the lookout for a place to play and impress and we gave him that, probably on the proviso of the above. The lad has seen this as an opportunity and has taken it, and if newspaper reports are to be believed, it looks like it MAY work out well for him.
  5. Let's hope Arbroath fans don't see that, they're very precious about one of their players.
  6. I was in hospitality yesterday and Dave Mackay came upstairs to have a chat, and I have NEVER heard a managers being so blunt and straight to the point as he was. I believe he said alot of the same things that were in this weeks Stirling Observer, but he's a man who's not messing about. For the benefit of those who weren't there, Mackay said that there are players at the club that he likes and thinks are good players but we are where we are because we just aren't good enough. He's already got 3 players lined up and is "working to get another over the line" however as much as 5 new players could be in place soon. I asked him where he saw the main area that needed improved, and he answered it by saying we just needed to be better all over, people talk about needing to defend better but Mackay said that the team needs to defend from the front and that's something we're not doing. Bikey's future was also a topic. Mackay said that Bikey signed as an amateur because if he had signed on a normal deal, his old club in France were entitled to £40,000 compensation and for obvious reasons the club couldn't pay that. The likely hood is he will leave the club soon and has been training with others, but no names were mentioned. Stuart Brown then pointed out that there was a clause in his contract that stated he could not sign for another club "at this level" and would have to sign for one either further up the leagues or "away away". Mackay said that he felt that Bikey was a raw talent and although his all round game is raw, you can see what he brings in the box. Mackay would like to keep him but said that unless he is happy to stay as an amateur (which is doubtful) then we should accept that he'll probably be away in the coming weeks or months.
  7. Who knows what's going on Rhliston, do I support that club offering FIRST TEAM players such low wages......I think my avatar answers that, at the end of the day it's exploitation. However, the player may not be the one who is unhappy and reported it to the Daily Record, in fact he could be the innocent party in all this. Players contract details are on various computer systems which all sorts of people have access to. Anyway, going by the club statement everything is resolved, so all's well that ends well.
  8. Daily Record reporting: Stirling already face a fight to keep new boy Dylan Nguene Bikey in January with scouts set to watch the French hitman in their game against Edinburgh City tomorrow.
  9. Definitely not an appointment your board should be even considering. Yip, nice guy who was popular in the dressing room but he had Jordan White who fired us to promotion and then had a squad that was terrible and always certain to drop with a whimper. Sure, he'll get another crack at management somewhere but at East Fife in a team that is, going by this thread, struggling, then it would be a foolish move by your board.
  10. Still down mate. I spoke to Gorilla about it a couple of nights ago and it should be back up and running over the next few days. Work is being carried out to move the site from a website to a messageboard only and the down time is only temporary.
  11. Is that not where we signed him from?? Best of luck to him, no point kicking about on the bench when he could be playing. I spoke to his Grandad at the Falkirk game and he is only on an amateur contract so it'll not free up any wages for Mackay to use, but as I said, it's better for the lad to be playing football. Maybe the jump has been too big for the lad and I suspect with him going back there that'll be the end of his time at the club.
  12. Someone else mentioned this in the match thread......was it really that bad?? Sure, there were shouts but I don't think it was too bad.
  13. You are absolutely spot on here bsd. I was at all but 1 of the games that Layne played and these faults screamed out at you (along with the fact he tended to be selfish on the ball). I'd love nothing more than to come on here and say, you've got some player on your hands and I can't believe he's not in the First Team, but in truth, I honestly think he's someone who'll fade out of the picture and you'll not hear anything of once he leave the club. For your sake (and Layne's) I would love to be proved wrong, time will tell if I am. I think Hynd is the better option out of the 2 (not sure why Montrose didn't play him)....but if Spence & Longworth are still as good as they were (or better) 2 or 3 seasons ago and Goodwin is only going with 1 up front then I honestly can't see Layne breaking into the First Team.
  14. If it's true that Layne has been recalled (nothing on either website) then good luck to the lad for the future. In my honest opinion, which I have posted on here before, he's not good enough to break into the Alloa First Team any time soon (and he's not shown enough at this level to force through a move elsewhere) but at least he tried his best during his time at Stirling, and that's all we can ask from any player.
  15. If it's true that Layne has been recalled (nothing on either website) then good luck to the lad for the future. In my honest opinion, which I have posted on here before, he's not good enough to break into the Alloa First Team any time soon, but at least he tried his best during his time at Stirling, and that's all we can ask from any player.
  16. It was a move that had caught everyone by surprise as there was nothing said about it until the team lines were posted on Twitter. I think (if he has come back with his head screwed) that it's a good move by the club, and with Mazel hanging his boots up, we are in need of that type of player. Would be good to have confirmation though, has he signed or did he feature as a trialist? I think he may have signed because he was listed by using his name on the team sheet.
  17. Rumours circulating on the Stirling forum that Brown Ferguson is set to be replaced by Martyn Corrigan. A rumour that has been made up by a compete buffoon (which I suspect) .......or a huge change in direction from the Stenny board after dishing out a 3 year deal?
  18. There is definitely a player there. I always go back to the 3 game i saw of him against us last season and he absolutely rag-dolled our defence in each of those games and looked a very very different player to the one we see at the moment. Is it a confidence thing or is it more of an issue that we are not playing his game......I really don't know, but I'm sure if MacKay can get him ticking again then we do stand a chance of making the Play Offs.....if he can't, then a Striker must be top of his "to get" list because Layne isn't the answer either and Ferns or D.Smith aren't Strikers.
  19. I'll be honest with you, I was quite vocal about the fact that I would have liked to have seen Allan Moore being brought back to the club, if he didn't fancy it then I felt the best option would have been to go for an experienced guy. When the names of MacKay & Grant hit the papers, there was one 1 name for me and that was MacKay, sure, Grant brought things to the table but I honestly feel that MacKay is a little bit more current. Yes, it's a risk, and only time will tell if it was one worth taking, but I honestly think McLaren was a bigger one. I'll always back a new manager until the time where I have reason not to. I just hope he forgets about 4-2-3-1 formations and text books from Largs and gets us playing with 2 strikers again and attacking teams......all I ask of any manager is get me excited and enjoying going to the football again, I hope he has that in him.
  20. I'm wondering what 'Robert The Bruce' is making of all this......not being a whistleblowing ex-player obviously, more a concerned supporter of the club that hasn't commented on anything this season.
  21. Isaac Layne isn't a team player and is so ball greedy, it's unbelievable. It's quite clear he has ability but he waste it by holding onto the all too long, not passing or over running the ball. The guy just wants to shoot every time and 9 times out of 10 it fly's over the bar. Doubt you'll see him back in an Alloa shirt. Eddie Ferns is an enigma. Started the season off brilliantly and looked the real deal. I was so excited after his League Cup games and thought he would tear this league apart and be amongst the best, but now, he's hardly in the game. I'm not sure if it's a confidence thing or not but he just looks like a totally different player and probably isn't deserving of a starting slot for about a month or so now.
  22. Aurelien Mazel retires from football due to injury. Wish him good luck for the future, he'll be a loss to us this season.
  23. He played for Elgin against us last weekend but wasn't in their squad to face Annan yesterday. Says to me they've not been able to do a deal.
