Don't really know what to make of this post.....my instincts tell me it's a piece of nonsense but I could be wrong. He only re-signed at Arbroath about a month ago ( www.arbroathfc.co.uk/2017/05/arbroath-squad-2017-2018 ) so if this is true, what has changed? As for Stirling fans raging, think we all know that was only 1 or 2 posters. At the time of signing, some (like myself) posted to give you the heads up that he was rotten at Stirling and could be rotten for you, as fellow fans do, but only the usual suspect(s) went into a rage. The guy didn't even get any abuse when he returned to Forthbank with Arbroath.

You can't say that until it's a stonewaller that the lad has signed. At the moment it's nothing more than fan speculation.

Honestly couldn't recommend it high enough, the bands that I heard were really good and wide ranging in music types. The rugby club withdrew the use of the facilities because their pitch was being destroyed apparently.

Earth shattering no, but very steady I would say. Looking through the squad he has retained well and has signed players who have a good reputation at this level. Will we push for the title? I'm not to sure and it's far to early to say who will win the league with any real certainty, but you're right, anything less than a Play Off place is failure for Mackay, but I think there are probably 10 teams going into the season with this mentality.

Another honest interview by Mackay, well done dafcburty, good work and an interesting read. Interesting to read where he felt he went wrong last season, it's not often you hear that from managers. It's also interesting to see that he only intends to sign another 3 players before the season starts. Assuming 1 of those is a keeper (as per a recent Stirling Observer interview) that means only 2 outfield players will be brought in, one of which is sure to be a Right Back.

With that in mind, what has happened to Jack Smith this season? I know he was loaned back to EK last year but has he been kept on for League 2?

Good signing for them. Injury took it's toll on McMillan and people tend to forget he was a good player for us before it happened. No doubt at all that he was finished at this level, however he is more than capable for the Lowland League and good luck to him.

Both The Sun and The Scotsman reporting what we all suspected, Frazer Wright is set to be announced as Assistant Manager. The Sun report says: "Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay is to be reunited with his Scottish Cup defensive winning partner Frazer Wright. The duo were part of St.Johnstone's silverware clinching side of 2014 and Wright is set to be named as Binos assistant manager today. Wright is in line to take the Stirling squad for their initial pre-season training sessions as Mackay is attending the Uefa Under 21 tournament as part of his coaching development."

He's not, he's traded like for like, but it's a good move for him and he'll be a great asset for Stenny

Excellent signing for Stenny and I wish him well at the club. I was sad to see that he had been released and rate him highly, however I was surprised to read your comment with regards to kicking FF, during his 2 years at the club I would say that this was the area that let him down. Brown Ferguson looks to be building a good squad and as we saw in his time at the club, Smith will win points for you.

Going by last season, Dave Mackay seemed to favour having 3 up front. The way his signings and squad retention has gone, it looks like that he wants to play 4-3-3 moving into next season as well. If that is the case, then McDonald will play centre of a 3 and will be that focal striker and will be against Blair Henderson for a starting place. This would leave Little, Smith and Kavanagh to fight for the places out wide, where they all played last season. On their day, that's a decent forward line for this level, whatever way you look at it. Henderson was pretty brutal last season, but is more than capable of coming on with 20 minutes to go, if McDonald is done, or covering for him when he is injured. We've seen with Henderson before that he does have goals in him, we didn't see that player last season (he admitted it in the Stirling Observer as well) but with better service, maybe he'll really push McDonald. I'm guessing it will be one or the other though, both are too slow to start together. If we can get the men behind them (players like Caddis, Dickson, Noble and if the rumours are correct Easton and McNeill) then we should be in amongst the goals and confident of outscoring teams.

Peter MacDonald now confirmed ( www.stirlingalbionfc.co.uk/2017/06/13/macdonald-signs-on ) delighted with the signing, he's a player I've always liked and as Dave Mackay says here, every time he played against us last season he looked good and 22 goals for a team that finished 2nd bottom is pretty impressive. Didn't seem that long ago that players couldn't wait to leave us to join Clyde (Junior, JP McGovern, Johnstone, McKenzie) now it looks as though the tide has turned if the Easton & McNeill rumours are true.

You know what does my head in more than anything about all this? We're got all these Trusts and Supporters Groups all across Scotland and not one of them are doing anything publically about it. None of them are organising protests or coming to the press to defend lower league fans. Where's our voice in all of this??

Once we are outside of the EU, there is no reason why this rule couldn't be re-introduced. I'm not sure I would want to see it as low as 3 again, however I do think we need a cap. Something like a maximum of 6 foreign players in the match day 18 would be fair enough.

I don't remember/must have missed this, who was it?? If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, if the idea is given the go-ahead then I'm done with Scottish Football.

Good news and news that everyone is sure to be delighted about I would of thought. In the few brief appearances that he made for the club, he didn’t really set the heather on fire but you could see he had the ability to play higher than League 2, and of course, we all know from his time at Rangers that he’s a good player. Get him fit, create chances and I’m sure he’ll score goals. So with little, Henderson, Smith and Kav, is that it for strikers or can we expect another 1 to come in? Must admit, although not urgent, I would like to see another one being signed, especially if Mackay intends to play 3 up front for most of next season. Although I’m seriously dubious of it happening, hopefully Henderson has had his blip and can kick on next season because if we do go with these 4 then he will once again be the focal point through the middle.

Good signing for us, a player who has always played well when I have watched him and probably one of the better Left Backs at this level. Haven't seen him for a couple of seasons now, but I'm hoping things haven't changed.

I'm not exactly sure what role he will play next season. Someone who will be a First Team regular, in and out the starting line up, nothing more than a bench warmer....or, Development Squad "wait and see".....however, the lad impressed me when he came in last season, didn't look out of his depth and deserves the chance to be involved with the First Team and hopefully he can do better than other youngsters who have been given the chance over the past few seasons.

Must be tough for Beattie as this seems to have been the way of it for the last 2-3 years for him at least.
