  1. He’s commented on every manager less club stating he knows who’ll get the job. I doubt he’ll pay up Ray Vaughn, but I’ve been wrong before. I have no idea who’ll get the job, but I’m willing to bet we’ll not bring in a man with only EoS and LL management experience, who hasn’t kicked a ball in the SPFL since......2002/03 ish.....from memory. No matter how well he has done at Kelty Hearts, I think our board will be looking up rather than down for our new man. He’ll pop up at another LL side I’m sure.
  2. £20 to the losers charity of choice, what do you say? 🤝
  3. Think Jimmy Nicholl lives in the area. Have seen him about semi regularly over the years.
  4. I honestly can’t see it. With the disasters of McDonald, McLaren and Mackay, it’s pretty obvious that Courts don’t fit in with the Mmmmm theme. All joking aside, after those 3 at least, it would be another huge gamble to appoint another manager with no experience of managing within the SPFL and I don’t think it’s a gamble the board will take. They are already under huge pressure to get this one right, and I don’t think they’ll risk it on a Manager with only Junior, EoS and LL experience. If he goes anywhere within the SPFL then my money would be on Berwick, however I suspect he’ll get another gig in the LL in time.
  5. He’s been mentioned a few times on various threads on various platforms and on various platforms and by all accounts he’d be regarded as a good appointment by the support. After the news of Sunday/Monday Steve Aitken with his brother Chris as Assistant Manager seems to be the over whelming fans choice, and a move that I would personally love to see (if we can’t get Allan Moore back).
  6. Lives in Larbert/Stenhousemuir as well, could be a good shout [emoji1303]
  7. I’ve said it on numerous occasions but I was never really won over by Mackay but had totally lost faith in him after the away game in Edinburgh a few weeks before the International break. Dave Mackay was a likeable guy and I wanted him to succeed so much but it just didn’t happen for him and as I said in the Albion Rovers thread, he was let down badly by players he brought in over the summer period. I hope that’s not the end for him in football and he gets another chance elsewhere it gets himself a coaching role or something comes up for him. So, onto the next guy. I think the job will be an attractive one for people and I don’t think we’ll be short of applicants. I would personally love to see Allan Moore return, I said that before Mackay, and I honestly feel the time is right for him. Wether he would be interested in leaving his current role at Clyde to be his own man again, who knows but for me, it would be a dream return and appointment that the fans would get behind. On various websites people are chatting about Jim Duffy, Paul Hartley and John Hughes, they’re all names that you would obviously love but you would of thought they’d be all looking to get back into the game slightly higher up the food chain. However, you can’t write them off I suppose, a few years ago, would people have seen Gus McPherson at Queens Park or Danny Lennon at Clyde? I just hope that this time, someone is appointed with some kind of track record. Since Moore left we have stumbled from poor appointment to poor appointment and all but Jocky Scott have been rookie managers, there is no fail safe way to appoint a new gaffer, but this time I think we need someone who has some kind of track record that the fans can get a little bit of belief behind. Squad wise, when everyone is fully fit, j still think we are a decent side. You still wonder where goals are going to come from and we are missing some physicality but by and large we have a lot of players who could play for any team at this level. Where the problem lies is we are seriously lacking away from 8 or 9 good players. The summer signings have been really poor and with the exception of Callum Ferrie (who is on loan from Dundee) the youngsters just didn’t seem up to playing at this level. If any of them are reading this then I would absolutely love for them to go out and prove me wrong, but we’ve yet to see it so far this season.
  8. Another “wait and see” loan signing from a full time club development squad. The fact that he has first team experience makes him sound like he could be a good signing.
  9. The new set up looks cracking lads, went down for a wee peek this morning. I’ve promised my son that we will get along to support our local team when Stirling are away from home. What’s the plans with regards to the stand getting built? Is it something that will happen in a few years or is it something which will start soon? Really hope the locals get behind the club, and the over 30’s football on a Friday happens at a time I can make.
  10. I’m horrified to read that RandomGuy but I can assure you, due to my own experiences, that’s not reflective of what is going on across the country as a whole.
  11. No need to call me a c**t, but hey ho........it’s clear “we’re not doing it right” or we were not doing it right? I’m more inclined to think it was option 2.
  12. What’s the correct way to train young players?
  13. So, if this sale does go ahead then it looks like we are staying then.
  14. That might be the case, however the Dunfermline Chairman was on the radio over the weekend complaining that the game against Boreham Wood cost the club 3k more than they had off the SFA.
  15. .....and what’s that based on? The same assumption that we are all speculating with, just with an alternative twist.
  16. Absolutely depressing how it’s ended up for Gauld. The guy should be a Scotland regular by now but yet keeps being loaned out to absolute bobbins. Surely this should be his last year at Lisbon and he should look for a move back to the UK and draw a line under his time there.
  17. If he keeps this up then I see no reason why he shouldn’t be in the squad before the likes of Naismith or Phillips (who is a Winger).
  18. To be fair, the SFA have acknowledged that kids have been “getting coached too much too early” and have tried to change that through Project Brave. Go on any 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3 course on the Children’s Pathway and they really hammer it into you not to coach and to let the children express themselves. Hopefully this is something we will see a big change in over the coming years, but really, unless community (volunteer) coaches buy into it then the SFA are pretty much working with their hands tied on this. I work for a charity that goes into primary and high schools to run programmes on resilience, team work etc etc etc. It’s frightening how easy and how frustrated youngsters give up and get these days. What is also staggering is how much Head Teachers in lots of schools, don’t value these characteristics in youngsters because you can’t gauge them when it comes to Scottish Government stats.
  19. Anyone know what Jack is up to these days? Was a big fan of his as a player and during his time of managing you. Really turned it around at Elgin during his time at the club (from an outsiders point of view).
  20. Morning folks, With Stirling playing up in Elgin on Saturday, I was going to bring my son (and his friend) along to you let match against Hibs, so they can tick off another stadium on their list and buy a pin badge. Just wondering how easy it is to get tickets on match day or do you have to buy them before a certain point? As you’ll be aware, it’s not something we need to worry about in League 2 [emoji23]
  21. Firstly, I’m the opposite to Wattoo, I think the SFA will choose Hampden based on the tradition of, we’ve always played there. I suppose time will tell, is it not this week the announcement is being made?? I think for as long as fixtures are played pretty much, only on midweeks, I think we’ll struggle to to sell out any stadium that we realistically want to hold the game in. I’ve not renewed my TA membership purely on the fact I’m fed up playing Monday’s-Thursday’s and I’m not the only one. I’ve bought my tickets for the Belgium & Portugal games but only because I am off that Saturday and Monday (the day after) so it doesn’t really matter when I get home, but it’s different any other day and it’s killing our International football more than not qualifying, if you ask me.
  22. Last season, you did a wonderful football programme involving youngsters struggling to gain employment and we also taught skills away from football. I popped down a few times to have a look at the progress youngsters I was working with were getting on and it was an excellent set up which really did put the club into the heart of the community and put you in a great light. Think that has ended now though as I haven’t heard about it since, which was a pity because the teenagers I know that were involved got a lot out of it and a couple of them attended a few games off the back of it.
