  1. It’s the end of the road for a few of the players at the club, and without knowing exactly who will not be offered any news deals, I doubt there will be much in the way of surprises. Dave Mackay said on Rock Sport that he didn’t want to rebuild the squad every year and that there was positions he wanted to strengthen. When you look at the style that tends to win this league, then we are a long way from it. Improvements have been made and I thank everyone for that, but if this club has really aspirations to get back up to the top end of League 1, then we need greater improvement. We also need to know if this consortium bid is being accepted or not. I know that’s not anyone (currently involved in the clubs) fault, but, if Dave Mackay is staying, he needs to know what money he has to work with, and now. Binnie - Stay, but not as first choice Wight - Meh McGeachie - Stay, did well and deserves another season. McNeil - I’m not actually sure, sod it, go Noble - Go R.Smith - Go Black - Stay. Not the best on the ball but does well in breaking up play and handy to have in the squad Robertson - Go, inconsistent Caddis - Go, inconsistent Dickson - Go, inconsistent Kavanagh - Go. Runs his heart out but has a bit of he Phil Johnston about him MacDonald - Stay, if he has the legs for another year. D.Smith - No brainer Little - Go, just to injury prone to keep.
  2. Good news if true. He said in the SO just the other week that he wanted to stay and he would sit down with the club in the weeks to come and get everything sorted. He’s moved the club forward and deserves another year IMHO. That actually made me laugh out loud [emoji23]
  3. Can’t say I’d be too surprised to see him released. With all due respect, a loan move to this level should of happened for the lad a year or so ago, so he is slightly behind the curve for a Premiership player. He’s a good player, there is no doubt, but he is probably not ready to step into St.Johnstone’s first team. He’s definitely someone who could drop down the leagues and return in time though and hopefully he’s enjoyed his time at the club and he sees a future for himself here, would love to see him play for a little longer.
  4. After the season he has just had, I’m sure he’ll have plenty of offers and will probably not want to jump into anything.
  5. Is he still with you guys? A superstar in his own head.
  6. Think he’s at Inverness is he not? Certainly was the last I saw him mentioned anywhere.
  7. Serious question but do Edinburgh City fans think that McDonaugh is the man to kick the club onto climbing the table? Or are you set for another season like this one where you are changing manager early doors?
  8. Which is surprising to read because Sandy proved with us that he is a handy player to have at this level who has a knack of making things happen in the final third, along with bagging the odd goal for himself. When you signed him, I thought he would of struck up a great partnership with McGuigan but either he has lost the ability to play football during his time away or something else has gone on with him that has made Ferguson change his mind about him.
  9. Was on loan to us a couple of season ago from St.Mirren. Our team was utter gut rot at the time but he looked to be a very good player. Nice ball player who tried to make things happen. I don’t actually remember him scoring, but I have it in my head that he was a goal threat, but I may have made that up.
  10. What “disgusting and shameful scenes” are you talking about Mark? The ones that KL and Co made up? I didn’t see any at the meeting I was at. What I saw was a bunch of men who knew their time was up and knew that a large group of fans were onto them, there was no way to turn so they quit before the Vote of No Confidence was successful against them and spread lies about their reasons. What abuse did they take? What vandalism was KL referring too? Don’t worry, the club will now be run properly and people who are fit and proper to run as part of the Trust will stand forward for election, but no doubt former Trust members will pull the club through the mud and play the victim card for a little longer yet.
  11. 3 things that jump out to me with this news, which is news to me. 1) The players I knew that were involved in the squad at the time have never mentioned a petitioning. I was told, by more than 1 player that the squad was told by Corrigan that if they kept winning and could turn the form around, then he would get the job full time, something the senior players in the squad were in favour of. 2) Mackay’s name wasn’t even in the mix (he was still a player at St.Johnstone) when Corrigan walked as Caretaker, James Fowler was the man the club wanted and he knocked us back to go to St.Mirren. 3) The Exc Board are in place to run the club, on behalf of the Trust. The Trust shouldn’t be over ruling The Exc anyway, after all, they are in the positions they are in because it is believed that these people have the skills to run a football club. If this did indeed happen, then the Trust had no right to block the Exc on this matter. We have had a fair bit of mud slinging by ex Trust members over the past month or 2 and I suspect this is another one of those,l.
  12. It’s already been said above, but he is turning into a really good player for us, if he can keep it up then he’ll be vital for any promotion push/success I’m sure
  13. Since he signed in January, I would say that he has been amongst the leagues best players so far. I would be very surprised if he was being loaned to release, but stranger things have happened. The lad has got talent and will make a good living out of the game, will he go on to become a regular First Team player at St.Johnstone....I hope he is given the chance at least because he does have something about him. He is certainly capable higher up the leagues, and why not at Perth? He had huge boots to fill when Callumn Morrison went back to Hearts, but dare I say it, he’s more consistent than Callumn. I’m not sure where he has played within the St.Johnstone youth set up but Dave Mackay has played him as the focal point in the centre of midfield, he’s certainly not a holding player.
  14. Copied and pasted from the ‘Time For Change’ Facebook page: Ken Lewandowski has been imposed upon the Stirling Albion Supporters Trust members as our Chairman. Mr Lewandowski is unknown to supporters of the football club, has had no involvement with Stirling Albion FC previously and was appointed without the votes and therefore backing of Supporters Trust members. We are told by the Trust Secretary that Mr Lewandowski was appointed with a plan to "democratise the club". We find this ironic considering the undemocratic nature of his appointment. We are unhappy with the lack of transparency by the Trust Board and are angered that the first official mention of Mr Lewandowski's name was to inform us that he's our newly appointed Chairman. We at ‘Time For Change’ object to this action by the Trust Board and we intend to make our voices heard. If you agree with us, please sign the petition and share the link with anyone who would support this campaign. You do not need to be a trust member to sign. Thank you. 15. Oh Christ [emoji33] https://stv.tv/news/west-central/1409133-football-chairman-suspended-amid-coach-sex-abuse-probe/
  16. It’s funny but when I saw this on Twitter yesterday I quickly checked Wikipedia to see what clubs he had played for as I had never heard of him. Obviously I’ve seen him over the years but I have no idea who he is [emoji23] Welcome to the club anyway, hope he pushes Binnie and with his experience in coaching, I hope he helps develop him also.
  17. Yes Beaver1, Sandy is a Striker. Good luck to the lad, always a player I liked, but he was a little frustrating at times under McLaren. He can be absolutely wonderful or absolutely anonymous but the Stenny support will love him.
  18. Since the 3 January signings, things have looked up for us. Although I couldn’t make yesterday, Barr has done exactly what we have been crying out for. Moon & Jardine are nothing but consistent in the middle of the park (something that was lacking there) and the players around them seem to be picking up form again. Long may it continue.
  19. Woke up to this news this morning and was delighted to read that Barr had signed for us. He’s always been a player I have admired, and I know he probably won’t be the same guy that played for Falkirk & Hearts, but he should still be good enough for this level. We’ve needed an experienced head at the back for some time now, and what better than someone who has played at the top level domestically, represented their country and won leagues and cups. Fantastic!
  20. Danny Jardine signs on loan from St.Johnstone and another player is also expected to sign before the deadline closes [emoji1303]
  21. Good news for Stenny, terrible news for supporters of other teams battling for a Play Off spot.
  22. With all due respect to the lad, not as well as his Development League form would suggest he would do. It’s my opinion that he is not ready for this level just yet.
  23. Off the top of my head, this is the only game I have seen him play and I thought the lad looked outstanding and I’m quite surprised he hasn’t had more appearances for the first team. Good luck to the lad anyway. Our postponed game againsT Cowdenbeath has been rearranged for next Wednesday night, with a 1945 kick off www.stirlingalbionfc.co.uk/2018/01/25/cowdenbeath-game-next-week/
  24. Dave Mackay saying in today’s SO that he is looking for a further 3 players to join before the end of the month. A Goalkeeper is priority and on top of that, a Centre Half and a Winger. The article also states that a few players will also leave the club, assuming Scott Davidson is not the only player, so they can play First Team football more regularly. Also reports on our forum that someone called Stanger is going to sign for Hamilton as part of the Docherty deal and go straight out on loan to us. Apparently this was spoken about on BBC Scotland before tonight’s games.
