  1. He scored 8 goals in 35(ish) league games (from memory). 4 of them were scored in the first 3 games and another 1 was a 2 yard tap in against Stenny on the last game of the season.....hardly comparable mate.
  2. Like some of the Berwick fans, I would rather have Jordyn Sheerin.......[emoji23][emoji23]
  3. The last pie I had like that....I burnt my chin
  4. I'd watch with playing Doris up front in his own. There's no doubt he's a very good player at this level but I think his 2 years at Forthbank showed he's not the most effective lone Striker. This isn't meant to be a dig at the lad, but I just feel when he's asked to do it all he's not as effective and his frustration builds.
  5. The Nathan Austin's of the world don't grace this level all too often so it's nigh on impossible to replace them directly when they do. I wish you well this coming season and if you can find someone to bag even 10-15 goals this season then I genuinely think you'll do well.
  6. Hodge played Centre Midfield against Cumbernauld so it's clear to see he can play a few positions which is always handy. For what it's worth, he has impressed me so far , he certainly looks useful. If I was McLaren I would personally use the game to try and give a couple of the players game time, so I'd be making changes. Although it's the cup and it's important, it should also be viewed as a chance to give players game time. Henderson, Mills & Moses will be used a lot next season so they need an opportunity to get up to speed and lads like Doherty, Burns & Davidson will also require game time so the pack should be shuffled IMHO.
  7. No getting carried away mate, very early days, but lots of positives to take out of today and plenty of reason to be optimistic.
  8. Beat Cumbernauld Colts 3-1 tonight and it was a decent enough run out to be honest. Everyone got a game with the exception of C Smith, McGeachie, Forsyth & Mazel. Binnie & Verlaque played the full 90 minutes from memory (there was no tannoy man so had to go by the clubs Twitter feed). Cumbernauld weren't up to much Defensively but were decent enough on the ball and the First Half was enjoyable as both teams tried to attack. As was what usually happens, the Second Half turned into something of a damp squib with all the changes that were made, but there were positives for sure.
  9. To be fair, it did Julen Etxaberguren (amongst others) no harm moving to one of Scotland's "Ultimate Diddy Teams", maybe Gomes is coming here with the same hopes.
  10. Lost 4-3 to St.Mirren in a closed door game last night. Darren Smith (x2) & Eddie Fearns with the goals.
  11. Very disappointing in his 10(ish) games that he played at Forthbank. We certainly saw no signs of a player that was ever good enough to be a First Team regular at Motherwell & Dundee, in fact, it's pretty hard to tell you about anything he did well. Cummins may argue that the team were shambolic while he was at the club, but he certainly didn't do anything to improve it. Angus Beith & Andy Stirling came in at the same time and both left with relatively glowing reports but I think it said everything about his spell when McLaren didn't even attempt to sign him afterwards. There is obviously a player there, his short list of clubs are impressive for a player at this level and for your sake I hope you see it more than we did.
  12. The Jam - Down At The Tubestation At Midnight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf4EFDGP4yg
  13. What's the latest news with regards to RISE?? Everything seems to have gone quite on that front. The SSP recently announced that they were going to continue working relations with the movement however there has been no news updates from anywhere that I know of or anything on their website. I have now cancelled my subscription to RISE, No point giving your hard earned cash towards something that's really nothing. A fantastic idea that has bombed in my honest opinion.
  14. The Babyshambles - Carry On Up The Morning PS - How do you post a Youtube video, it doesn't seem to work for me
  15. David Sinclair made one 26 minute appearance for us last season, it was against The Shire and he was loaned out straight after and released.
  16. You've got yourself a good attacking player there. On his day, Lamont was amongst the best in League 2 last season, equally as impressive as anyone that I saw. My 5 year old son nicknamed him The Postman "because no matter what, he always delivers" and I think that summed him up. His ball's into the box were a joy to behold at times, especially from set play. Certain sections of the Stirling support were critical of his Defensive play, and lazy looking attitude during games when we were on the back foot, but I think that's harsh as Defending clearly isn't part of his game, but like everyone, he tries Lamont was an "unknown" when he signed for us and to many outwith the club he is still an unknown, but if he has another season like last year, then he'll of caught the eye of many I'm sure.
  17. Looking forward to the 27th of August.....do enjoy an Arbroath away day but I'm also interested to see if Dick has you playing "The Arbroath Way".
  18. The official line was that he refused to commit himself to the club so was released, but a large chunk of the support suspect that something went on behind the scenes and he (and Willie Robertson) were released as a result. Was he highly rated....yes he was. I think everyone was delighted when he extended his initial contract until the end of the season, and everyone I know saw him as someone who could cut it at a higher level.
  19. A few years ago, he was playing Full Time for Dunfermline and Coaching Part Time at Alloa I'm sure. No reason why he couldn't be a Full Time coach at Hearts and a Part Time player at Arbroath.
  20. Would have him back at Forthbank in a heartbeat.
  21. The council actually asked if the club would be interested in an astro pitch last summer and the idea was veto'd by the club.....we'll stick to grass, but thanks for your concern.
  22. Surely if you were to have a red or black 2nd strip then you would just wear your 1st strip in those 4 games
  23. I'll be honest with you, he was a player I didn't take to and in truth I was quite happy to see him leave. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way but he just never really showed he deserved or was good enough for another season. Had he not signed an 18 month contract when he joined from Ayr United, I wonder if McLaren would have kept him on for last season. With being tall and physical he'll fit into John Coughlin's style of play so maybe Berwick fans will see the best of him.
