  1. Was planning an immediate return, but his road positioning and aggressive driving manner seemed to indicate he was going for an immediate pass on my left. I thought my calmer style of driving and actually using MSM was just putting myself at risk to return left. I was right, as soon as possible he undertook. The remaining right after that was purely a stop and look left as a kind of "look where your driving got you" type thing. Hope this clears it up.
  2. Two things I'll never quite fully understand about some road users, firstly the concept of tailgating, not once in my entire driving history have I ever thought, 'know what, you're right pal, I'll just start speeding up for you' it's always met with maintaining a steady course and potentially even slowing down. Second is, why do people react so angrily over what is usually such a minor thing. A recent ish example was driving along a dual 30mph limit, bus in front of me was pulling in so, MSM and changed lanes, some bellend in an Audi came flying up behind me who seemed to be doing potentially double the speed limit had been inconvenienced by this and decided to start flashing and indicating I was a w****r. I could see the undertake coming so I just maintained course, as he passed he's shouting out the window and sticking his fingers up. Then it got sort of interesting as he got stopped at the lights, I pulled up next to him and wound down my window to make some enquiries about the problem he had. Not a glance in my direction, looked petty sheepish and I was like, why act like that then?
  3. That's hilarious. I get why the prices are higher, but I've often found the price of food and drink at football matches is just mental. Except for the odd ground, seem to remember Killie being more reasonable.
  4. For some reason Dobbie keeps popping up as a rumour. Would rather Connor Shields tbh.
  5. I get these, I broadly they've been described as either palpitations or pre-ventricular or pre-atrial contractions, I think the heartbeat originates in the atrial or ventricle, it's a smaller heartbeat which results in the pause followed by quite a thump for the next heartbeat. When this first happened to me I'd been on a two day sesh and thought I'd fucked my heart somehow, went to the docs who referred me to hospital, got an ECG and sent me home. Didn't think much of it until a few years later it basically continually happened, could be periods where it was every other heartbeat was this weird flutter and then a thump. Ended up going to A&E, got a heart monitor for three days and the end results were everything was normal. Was told I was stressed and to avoid stimulants, oddly I think the symptom was the cause, after being told it was normal it hardly ever happens now. I avoid caffeine now though. Anyway thought I'd share to try and put your mind at ease. 100% go to the doctors and ask about the heart monitor, it's a pain in the ass, as it's stickers stuck on you for three days, exercise and showering with it are annoying. Worth it for peace of mind or if there is something genuinely wrong. This is a class thread tbh, anyone know anything about bones in your hands? I have the kind of classic boxers injuries from years of martial arts, more or less missing a ring finger knuckle, my middle finger bone knuckle is enlarged and I've still got slight pain when my hand is squeezed from the last broken metacarpal. Is it worth going to see a hand specialist or just live with it?
  6. I feel like this is becoming the new Mikael Mandron. Probably the right decision for Cardle, at best he was going to end up a sub or squad player next season. So far McCall signing up and letting go of the right players which is quite refreshing.
  7. I think they just want someone to talk to them.
  8. Would agree yeah, she was a lovely woman and back then I was late teens, I think she had quite a motherly attitude towards me. She wasn't the only one, the receptionist who was also in charge of booking flights & accommodation for back and forth to London, used to always do my expenses for me. Salt of the earth type. As far as I know there's no legal entitlement, but companies usually will have bereavement policy. The usual is like 3 days for close relatives. Places where manager discretion is in place for stuff like this, is somewhere well worth working for. One of my recent contracts was like this and the manager was a superb guy. I mentioned to him about anxiety issues one day, he couldn't have been more understanding and done more than he had to, to help.
  9. Welcome back lads, you had a good run. I see the Tap Room is the Peacock & Ivy now, is it still the same sort of pub? Sounds wanky as f**k so I should fit right in. Genuinely missed Accies as an away day, close proximity to me and always seems to be a bit of needle.
  10. I remember being a younger lad working for a fairly big company and my grandad died, we were really close, anyway the normal manager was absent and one of the senior managers was like "eh yeah grandparents I don't think you get time off, need to take a holiday if you want and for the funeral" After chatting to the standard older office lady, the office mum type if you will (even though that term is cringe) she advised me that was bollocks and had a proper go at him. Ended up getting a couple of days off paid. Apparently it was all manager discretion and he just didn't want people having time off for stuff like that. Anyway the lack of compassion in some workplaces is absolutely ridiculous. Really shameful stuff to suggest that if you knew it was coming you should have been more prepared. Aye the threat of your closest relative dying fair gets me in the frame of mind to work.
  11. I agree with the work collections being murder. The last actual office I had worked in had them regularly, some c**t you don't know is leaving another c**t you met two weeks ago is having a birthday, someone is returning to work, someone bought a new house. Honestly I've never seen the point of it. Any time I've left a place I've just left without a fuss, it's just a fucking job. Although, I did leave a well known distillery with a £100 Amazon voucher and a shit load of booze, bags of the stuff. Which is probably the best leaving present I've ever had. Really surprised me because in general I think I'm a bit of a dick.
  12. There's nothing quite like being able to sit back and enjoy the playoffs from a neutral point of view. Montrose is a class away day, would be great to have them up.
  13. If it makes Falkirk fans feel any better / worse (delete as appropriate) I've put money on a Thistle draw or lose in every game since the East Fife match and tonight is the first game I'm not going to bother so it's more or less guaranteed we'll lose to Montrose now.
  14. While it's quite an amusing thing to happen in the pantomime of Scottish football, particularly this season, I feel maybe it's revisiting the argument or opening old wounds again and I don't think that helps anyone involved. Certainly feel like if this and the situation at the end of last season is going to be discussed at length again, I really could not be arsed with that. It's done, we won the league lets just fucking celebrate and look forward to next season.
  15. You're welcome. Hope you enjoy the football match tonight.
  16. Ayr win and help get Morton to f**k tbh. Looking forward to Ayr away next season.
  17. Mon the Lichties tbh, get this mob doon. A Doolan goal would be lovely as well.
  18. Hilarious if it's Morton or Ayr tbh. I'd miss Ayr away, but after their pish when McCall joined I'll defo have a right good laugh if they go down.
  19. Some absolute fanny has scheduled a meeting for 4pm to 4:45pm today. Absolute shambolic behaviour on a Friday afternoon, sitting listening to this pish rather than continuing my celebrations. No one is paying a bit of attention and all of this will be forgotten by Tuesday. Pointless.
  20. Ah good times indeed. Must be awful being a Falkirk fan just now.
  21. I seen a Tweet perhaps by @The Thistle Archive that we're on some bizarre run of either being relegated twice and being promoted twice... Feeling a bit rough today, but what a turnaround man. A few weeks ago we're chatting about missing the playoffs and what a shambles the season has been. Huge amount of credit to McCall and the players to get up the table and win it with a game to spare. It's also nice to come in here and not have to put up with the weirdos that drop in. *Christ had to edit about 5 spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, might have been still pished when I wrote that.
