  1. Thanks. If you like them, charge on son, don't let anyone tell you any different. My dear Rugster, I have come close to visiting, but I chose train home rather than a 3rd bloody Uber back from Edinburgh that year alone. His treatment of your good self over the kebab shop recommendations is frankly vile. Its become so awkward I am considering going there myself just so that theres someone to pat you on the head and day well done.... If you could pick me up one as well, thanks.
  2. This. Baillie Gifford American is a good example, up %125 for the year and I believe during the pandemic it made the majority of those gains.
  3. I know exactly what you mean about the burning sensation... *Kenneth Williams gif* Care to share the name of the good pizza place?
  4. Just read on wiki he married someone named Glennis Dickhouse, that's an outstandingly unfortunate name.
  5. Massively craving pizza now and trying to eat healthier fucksake
  6. Headlight bulb changing always involves a lot of swearing for me. What year is the Zafira? Usually the passenger side you can still get to unless you have shovels for hands, IIRC you can move the fuse box cabling aside to make it easier, it's still fiddly as f**k. These videos on YouTube of people taking off bumpers to replace bulbs are idiots usually. I had to change the bulbs on the missus' shitty wee Corsa, tiny wee engine and loads of space... Except near the headlight bulbs, ended up needing to disconnect the airbox pipe to fit my hand in. It's always fucking winter that it happens as well, never a nice warm summers night.
  7. I thought Still Game was largely a decent show before it ended. Haven't watched any of the new ones as I've heard it's pish. Paul Young should have been in it a lot more, superb actor. I love this scene, ignore the fact the below seems to have been recorded with a potato.
  8. If McCall is not careful he's going to make an arse of signing Lyons, I don't know if it's point proving right now from him but he should have been brought on earlier. However our missed chances are what cost us, what happens when we have to rely on one striker, inevitably he's going to have a few bad games.
  9. Started off fucking pish, now slightly less shit? Injury situation is a nightmare.
  10. With us coming off the back of two league wins, unbeaten at home and Dumbarton struggling recently it's definitely the kind of game that gets my hopes up. Although usually when this happens we absolutely f**k it. So can see a score draw coming. Hoping I'm wrong.
  11. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Thistle fan that thought we would stroll this league, given the last few seasons for us.
  12. My wee girl is 4 months now, looking forward to baby led weaning as any time we are eating food near her she's completely fascinated by what's going on. It's like a dog at the dinner table look we get. Another interesting development is the rocker chair supposed to used to keep her entertained while we do something productive or eat food has somehow become the designated sh*tting chair. The upside is, handy if she hasn't pooped in a while and maybe transferring this to an actual toilet might be easier as I think she likes it due to the privacy offered. The downside is if you've just made a tasty curry and then have to change a big shitey nappy before eating it, isn't great.
  13. I mentioned a while ago IAG were a shout, this was indeed the correct call. I think I'd be cautious investing in them now, but I think they have more to give. I'm holding my position anyway. Same goes for RR. HSBC and Royal Dutch Shell are holds for me, might still be worth investing. I guess it's just think about what's going to recover well when this all blows over. I don't even look at ethical funds. Tech funds are doing well still, can be a bit cyclical, which if you are on the ball you can move money around. MedTech funds worth a shout. Worth having a look at Chinese emerging markets funds.
  14. That's an outstanding finish, it really is, he's made that look incredibly easy as well. If we were in the JLS that would have went down a storm. Looks like he's gone over for a wee celebration to the new canal stand as well, he's loving it here.
  15. Fingers crossed for you and the missus mate. It is hugely positive news that it's not spread.
  16. Worth checking out Sonos, they're compatible with many music apps, but more importantly i'm fairly sure you can set it up to play music through less life intrusive methods. More expensive, but probably less buggy than Echo devices.
  17. Kind of applies to both so... A job is such a big part of your life, I wouldn't minimise it. I feel I need to state I don't enjoy what I do, I just do it for the money, if I had to put up with reduced money or what @D.A.F.C seems to be going through I would be absolutely hating it. For years now I don't have any real loyalties towards any job or anyone in a work capacity, at the end of the day I expect everyone to look out for number one so I do so myself. I constantly have my CV up to date and ready to go, I keep in touch with many agency staff almost as is if we were pals, we're not, we're both just playing the game of information. I keep all my job alerts active, check what's out there regularly, what the market rates are and finally keep my skillset relevant. I'd basically recommend this to anyone. I know it's the easiest thing in the world to say if you're not happy in a job then leave, but in my opinion it's 100% the best course of action. If it's not happening, don't pour your time and energy into trying to work harder for someone else, put that time into you. I'm far from saying leave at the drop of a hat or one off-the-cuff remark, but be ready. Maybe you are already doing all of this and which case I wouldn't give up, it took me over a year to get out of a job I hated and suffered badly mentally for it. When I did finally get out, what a relief it was and the outpouring of emotion after was beyond what I'd ever expected. This all came from a combination of things in previous jobs, which to be honest I don't really want to get into. I will say I was made redundant twice by the same company through no fault of my own, (second time I ended up resigning anyway and both times offered a job levels below for less money) both times it ended up being the best thing that had ever happened to me, in terms of working life. I don't know if this is any help at all, I read both posts a couple of times and felt I could offer something.
  18. I concur with this. We're all part of Clarkie's army we're going to... the UK. Reckon I might still be mwi
  19. Cracked the Whisky last night, paying the price, but am so happy... Got Alexa playing Allys tartan army on all echoes. The missus is delighted...
  20. I mind watching the Scotland v Netherlands play off in Curlers, winning 1-0, everyone going absolutely mental and getting steaming. Return leg, full of hope and promise, down at the local, about 30 of the lads... The pub was doing this '20p off a pint every time there's a goal or card' deal. f**k me did they regret that, tables just covered in pints, everyone two pints in hand. Anyway, here we are, full of hope and promise again.
  21. Sound advice tbh. I spent many hours playing CoD Warzone with a few mates, few beers and having a laugh during lockdown. If it wasn't for this online social aspect I'd certainly be suffering a lot more. Usually get out for a fairly long walk at lunchtime and listening to mindfulness type podcasts, sometimes I think I can't fucked with this and sometimes when I'm walking I'm like f**k this. But then I keep walking, keep listening, take my mind away from everything else and by the time I get back I feel so much better for it.
  22. This is particularly good fun if it's an artic lorry or truck, you courteously leave good few cars lengths before pulling in, in front of said lorry and the asshole decides to try and undertake you. If you can time it perfectly to indicate and start to move as they decide to undertake it's a wee bonus. It's all good fun, until some duffer decides to overtake a lorry at 1mph quicker than the lorry that's only doing 50mph on the motorway then it's hell on earth and they do not deserve a license.
  23. That would quite interesting / funny, poor b*****ds, it's mental what people will invest in, given the vast amount of fairly reliable ways of investing. I've been fairly fortunate over the last 5-6 years where work load and stress have been low, that and I'm never in the same place too long which is nice. Ah yes at my previous gig for an asset manager I didn't bother with shares as it looked like a hassle with compliance and the very thing you mention, I think it was a 60 day minimum. New borns with a hangover are hard going. I have a 3 month old and after about 6-7 beers I start thinking, you know it's probably not worth going any further.
