  1. I guess like the old adage, money changes people and not having much made her a bit of a bellend. Absolutely a really shitty way to treat a pal though. I think my missus attended something like that before, only it was a skincare thing, started out under the guise of trial products and see the range and later became a sales pitch. The missus worked for one of those "alternative marketing" companies when we lived in Edinburgh selling mostly broadband to vulnerable people. It seemed in a roundabout way like a pyramid scheme, without the up front costs and the promise if you made enough money eventually you'd get to start up your own company, probably punting talk talk broadband or credit cards. I remember going out to meet some of her colleagues and boss one night, they were more or less all overly enthusiastic wankers chatting in what seemed like code or in jokes. The boss was a bitch as well and fairly cunty towards the staff, eventually shortly after the missus left there was a mass walkout. I checked today and the company was dissolved after a compulsory strike off order, can't say I'm surprised.
  2. Didn't expect many people to actually respond to this, thoroughly microwaved shamed here. I normally don't cook anything in it. I can actually cook as well, I make incredibly good lasagne and bolognese dishes, honest. Missus ended up making me it this morning, but tomorrow the hob shall be used.
  3. Trying to eat healthier breakfasts as going by the NHS website my current choices are not. So I tried to make porridge this morning, followed the box instructions exactly and it was runny as f**k, fired more oats in and put it back in the microwave. This time the bowl overflowed with roasting hot slop I managed to burn myself with and coupling that with having to clean the microwave now I was pretty angry about it all, probably increasing my blood pressure. Moral of the story is I should have just eaten the fucking crunchy nut cornflakes.
  4. Herbalife even as a product, let alone the pyramid scheme has been a total scam from day one. Says it all when they now have a lad from Dundee as the CEO
  5. Is it just me or is there a real uptake of idiots getting involved on pyramid schemes and sharing them on Facebook during lockdown? I don't get such invites, but I regularly hear my missus muttering about "fucking pyramid scheme wankers" Would make sense to use Facebook given the hotbed of idiots that would fall for it I guess.
  6. Can Lyons play through the middle? I thought he was mostly on the wing at Montrose.
  7. IAG shares worth a punt today with existing shares being diluted, not really expecting anything from it, but seems too good to pass up the opportunity.
  8. If Queens Park reached the same level as Thistle and we were regularly competing against each other in the same league I think that would be class. Huge potential for a local derby and rivalry that let's be honest Thistle don't really have at the moment.
  9. It's quite sad but... First proper football betting with the lads returns today and I am rather excited about it. Treble of Sunderland, Bournemouth and Cheltenham picked out by the collective, there's not a lot to go on though. Will I probably stick another treble and an acca on? Most definitely.
  10. Ah Thistle being touted as some sort of contender again, worked well for us last two seasons. But in all seriousness if anyone stuck us on at 10/11 you're an absolute zoomer.
  11. I tend to hate the parents who let their children run wild at inappropriate times.
  12. Brilliant. Weirdly I'm always looking for random Thistle stats or facts out of interest and usually have trouble verifying them, so this is right up my street. Thanks.
  13. Jammy b*****d, I think I managed a 5 minute sleep the whole time I was there. The midwives did however bring me sandwiches and biscuits on a regular basis.
  14. These are pretty much all the reasons I don't want to go back to the office.
  15. Usually yes, the shares pass to the deceased estate. Unless there is anything in Colin Weir's will stating otherwise. I'm thinking since MBM solicitors are appointed directors in the Three Black Cats at the moment, that the former is more likely and it's just a combination of a complex large wealth and Covid restrictions that are slowing things down.
  16. Thank you very much mate. Was my first thought as well tbh.
  17. I'm now confirmed as a dad! Chloe was born on the 9th of August weighing in at 8.9lbs, bit late on posting this as have been kept mega busy with her. Chip off the block with this I was absolutely not expecting labour to be the way it was, the missus must have been in labour for over 36hrs, we spent about three days awake, two of which spent in the hospital. It was so stressful watching her go through it, she went from "just gonna have gas and air" to "gimme the fucken drugs!" in the space of a couple of hours. After the Epidural, all was well... For a while at least. Epidural lines breaking and drugs running out later it ended up being a forceps birth due to the position and size and me wearing scrubs in the theatre looking and feeling like something out of Grey's anatomy. Didn't take long for her to arrive after that and what a relief to just see/hear her after hours of listening to the speed of her heartbeat go up and down. The hospital pretty much let me hang about as long as I wanted afterwards, but had to drive home at around 4am on the Monday as I felt like I was starting to see things, that was definitely the deepest sleep I've had. It's still absolutely surreal that we have this little human and in charge of looking after her, thank f**k the missus seems to know what she is doing as I have no clue.
  18. It's like that Kevin Bridges joke about the guy on the train assuming you're also a scumbag and sitting further away from someone of a different ethnicity wearing a backpack. I also find it particularly interesting the people who send me racist "memes" or videos over Fb Messenger, assuming I'm also a racist I guess. Firstly, I'd love to know the real origins of this and secondly, it's just not funny, as in racism aside for a brief moment, it's not comical in any way. I've deleted a few people from Fb recently because of it and more recently challenged a relative on it indicating "that's racist I'd rather not receive that" and in return I got "It's a just a laugh, they'll be doing the same to us" I couldn't even be arsed continuing the conversation after that.
  19. "Seen calculators more advanced" got me.
  20. Lassie in the little black dress at the front is incredible.
  21. Depends what you're after really, I'd say most of them you'd be able to walk in no problem. Last Friday night was very quiet when I was out. Busiest place was Howlin' Wolf, but even then we got in and got a table no bother.
  22. My only personal experience of a nursing home was the one my gran went into at a later stage of dementia, she was 97 and you were lucky if she remembered you. It was awful. The worst thing was when she died a couple of months ago, I got a call in the morning from my brother to say she'd died and while we were sad, concluded that it's for the best and neither of us would have wanted to be in her position. About half an hour later my brother called me back to upgrade her status to being alive again, but that she isn't likely to make it through the night. Many hours later I got the call again to say she had died, bit of a brutal day and I believe it may have been some miscommunication at the care home. Felt the most sorry for my dad who actually turned up and realised she was still alive after having been informed otherwise. When it comes to getting old I often think about Hunter S. Thompson and I have a lot of respect for the way he handled it. I think I'd rather something like that than the deterioration and indignity of being put in a care home.
  23. I'd love to read about anything else. Have not seen it mentioned anywhere at all, almost like they're hoping people just renew anyway. I think last time I checked my renewal price was £290 but, I'm really reluctant to renew with less games and no indication yet about being able to attend any.
