  1. A lad I used to work with, lived in Falkirk most of his life, but supported Tottenham Hotspur because he liked Glenn Hoddle's style of football and the fact he was a born again Christian. He was an absolute oddball, decided he was going to become a woman at one point, I heard stories of him coming into the office in a big summery dress and cross trainers, eventually he decided it wasn't for him and went back to being a man. For a while though, he was probably the only lass in the office that knew the off-side rule.
  2. I think my mum and dad have a unit very similar to this, they bought it in the 60's! It's potentially coming back into style mate, you just charge on and ignore the haters...
  3. Fixtures are out... First game away to Clyde, this could be interesting. https://spfl.co.uk/league/league-one/fixtures
  4. Some of our fans are fucking murder and an absolute embarrassment right now.
  5. 100% agree, don't understand this at all. Fair enough if you lived in an another area and followed that team, but to randomly pluck an English team (or any other team for that matter) not go to the games, act like you're excited when they do well and care about the club is right oddball behaviour.
  6. Just called the pub directly and see tbh, I never needed to book any of the places I ended up in last Friday, they were all very quiet. In fact I think a lot of places are reducing the number of tables they book in as quite often people aren't turning up.
  7. That's about the third time we've been relegated from the Championship in a matter of months going by the comments. Even for Thistle, that is quite some going.
  8. Just googled I can't believe she is 61, that is incredible.
  9. Totally unrelated, who is the lassie in your profile pic? Asking for a friend.
  10. First night out in Glasgow in four months last night, went well. Had my first proper pint of Guinness in about 4 months in Waxy's, fairly relaxed in there, perspex on the bar, but no real social distancing in table setups and no one really enforcing anything. The place was weirdly quiet, staff promptly disinfecting tables after patrons had left though. The Guinness was fantastic. Was in Drury's next, fairly quiet in there as well, a lot more strict, staff in facemasks & visors and asked people to wear a mask if going to the toilet (limited to two people at a time) and moving around. You could still play pool though which was nice. Also, the chips, cheese and haggis is absolutely incredible scran. Finished in the Howlin Wolf, first place to actually do a temperature check, we all had to basically look at this wee machine standing at the doorway that reads your temp, quite cool, passed the test and were allowed to drink, success. Tables were all fairly separated out, but not many staff wearing masks. For some reason I never checked out if any kebab shops were open and fairly annoyed at myself for this.
  11. Would avoid the Insignia. Would more likely go with the Golf personally, better ride quality, will soak up bumpy highland B roads well, it's just a better car than the Insignia and probably the Focus. If you can get a Bluemotion Golf I think the MPG is usually ridiculously good on long drives. Skoda Octavia estate is also a good option if you can find one as I think the road tax maybe slightly cheaper and it's probably cheaper to buy than a Golf estate.
  12. First foray back to the pub was actually up visiting her relatives, so Plockton Hotel, sitting outside as it was a nice-ish day, but indoors it was perspex on the bar and every table separated with wood/perspex as well. We managed to get a steady stream of cold pints of T on the go and the view was not bad. Although tonight, i'm attempting a few beers in Glasgow city centre, interested to see how this will go as it all seems to be a big unknown. Pubs you think would be open are not, no clear indication if you need to book or can just walk in for the ones that are open. Have one place booked and the rest will just be walking in and see what happens. I'll report back tomorrow. Also, last train home for me is just after 9pm apparently! No idea when pubs will chuck people out.
  13. I was talking about this in another thread actually. I have the slim high suction Eufy, it's honestly brilliant. I think you can get the one I have now with the app that let's you plot it's cleaning area. Mine has even fallen down a full flight of stairs and still works, supposed to have a drop sensor but I think it got too tired. Occasionally I still hoover upstairs but very rarely needs it.
  14. I was merely vacuuming my underwear, honestly...
  15. "Could of" or "should of" really quite anger me. Bit of an irrational hatred for sentences like "that needs/wants fixing" as opposed to "that needs to be fixed"
  16. Absolutely sack that. You want one of those robot vacuum cleaners, honestly no hoovered my gaff in months. Bliss.
  17. And we're going to arbitration with the SFA. Well, that was money well spent.
  18. I read an article that as of this year, schools in the Western Isles are teaching Gaelic as the default language, unless parents say otherwise. I suppose there is a debate on first and second languages that will always remain for Gaelic.
  19. Ah so what you're saying is, corruption in football is occurring globally. I think it's arguable, that by definition it's not a clear cut yes or no, in terms of a conflict of interest.
  20. Getting the fear reading this thread! Kids not wanting to eat, pissing themselves or not wiping their arse... f**k me I don't feel like I'm ready for this. I don't think I'd know what to say to them. Normal for a first time dad or am I alone in this fear.
  21. It would definitely be good to have more Gaelic speakers, but dead in a decade seems a bit extreme. I listen to a lot of Scottish trad music sang in Gaelic and have met a lot of younger demographic and musicians in the west coast highlands who can speak it fluently.
  22. It's not, it's an absolute DHOTYA gold. it's been reposted so many times on multiple social media platforms. Pile of pish.
