  1. I sit and write code for the majority of the day, being in an office with a substandard setup to my own is a hindrance. The last time I went into an office I spent a fair amount of time fucking around with monitors and cabling and even then it was inadequate, I never do this at home unless I change something and my chair isn't uncomfortable, smell like years old farts or have about 10 different peoples lunches or coffee spilled on it and never properly cleaned. For myself I don't see it as entitlement, I feel like the office is an outdated concept. Appreciate it's not the same for everyone, my kind of work is results driven so if I sat around and did nothing, people would know very soon and I'd be out the door.
  2. Very middle management behaviour to desire people to come into the office. The reasons behind why are always pish as well. Don't get me wrong though, when I work in a city and if there's a few good c***s I work with an after work pint(s) on a Thursday or Friday is rather pleasant. I'm quite a social person, but I absolutely fucking love working alone and I'll never change.
  3. Got one as well! Was sitting at sold out for ages randomly went back to it for a refresh and got one, absolutely buzzing!
  4. Genuinely think they could double that allocation and we'd still sell out today.
  5. Great news, still can't see it going below 12 though.
  6. Yeah pretty much, join, mute and contribute nothing. It was a contract I left early with nothing else to go to, it was that bad.
  7. Depends on how aggressive the horn blowing was and if it was obvious they knew I was there, this would definitely get a response, I usually blow people a kiss though as I find it really increases the rage. So if some c**t pisses you off on the roads and blows you a kiss fair chance it's me, squares goes accepted if kids aren't in car with me. Thanks.
  8. Sounds horrendous. In a place I used to work they did this sort of thing on a Friday afternoon 4:30-5pm where people would sit awkwardly having a beer with people in the team and some other randoms. It was almost always more or less the same two or three people talking about their dull lives, everyone else I think were just meant to listen and enjoy this pish chat. The boss was a w**k, used to "jokingly" say attendance is mandatory or you still have to work to 5pm. To this day one of the weirdest companies I've worked for.
  9. HC and GD have covered some points already. I can't recall if SIPP is an immediate relief to corporation tax based on annual dividends, worth checking with accountant. Though the contributions are deducted from profits so they wouldn't be liable for corp tax, it's a long game, but it's a no brainer if you don't need reserves building up in the company fire them into the pension. For SIPP I wouldn't recommend HL. Vanguard or Interactive Investors better as charges are lower. ETA: Also some really good business savings accounts rates right now, Aldermore for example, if you don't want to lock away funds in pension. Unfortunately it doesn't shelter interest earned from corp tax, but the rates are a lot better than they were in previous years.
  10. I used to feel the same way about Arbroath after we couldn't buy a win against yous! Warmed to it now though.
  11. I still work from home, now that I have two kids starting to really question, aside from my own existence, working from home anymore. Only thing is my closest office is Leeds. I used to do it as a Hybrid type thing in Glasgow where the office had these "Wellness rooms" with comfy couches, actual beds, yoga mats and other stuff. I used to think how weird is this, now I long for the day this is an option again, I'd literally get up after the morning feed and head into the office for a sleep. On the other hand I get to have two breakfasts every day and listen to travel updates of people stuck in traffic jams, which is quite fun.
  12. Can't believe you're not taking her to Firhill for feast of football, via Munn's or the Woody for a pre-match pint or two, what more could a woman want?
  13. Legal & General International Index trust is well worth a look if you're looking for an index fund, it's been one of my best performing for a long time now. I've got a mix of active and passive, seems to work well, some active stuff has taken a tanking but others are keeping the overall growth high. If you work for yourself or have your own limited company, which I think you may have based on some of your previous posts I've seen it would be worth looking at a SIPP, I invest in one through my company, very tax efficient way of getting money out, I use Vanguard for that and it's been slowly on the up for years now, again mostly index funds. I don't work for L&G, this is not financial advice, funds can increase or decrease over time.
  14. I'd say this will be our toughest league game so far this season, always hard to play a team on form. This could be about 4-3 either way on Saturday depending on who can defend the best.
  15. Watching those highlights it looked like Hardie could have had 2 or 3 in that game if he'd been given the ball, twice I seen him in space and a pass would have definitely been on if his team mates were a little bit less selfish.
  16. Mixed bag with lorry drivers I find, but I don't blame them as it's probably hard to gauge those that will overtake versus those that will just sit behind them and let the queue build. Campervan drivers are just b*****ds basically, I see posts on the teuchter facebook pages I'm on every year about this group of Italian campervans that head northwest to Skye, 17 of them roughly and apparently they don't pull in for anyone, the fury they cause amongst the locals is quite funny but I'd hate to encounter that convoy.
  17. I don't think she would have been alone in this thinking. This is what it's like the majority of the time I drive A roads now, that 40mph precession, recently I was stuck behind a huge queue of traffic sitting behind this one campervan and despite many parking places available they did not pull in and the cars to the front of the queue weren't overtaking, made my way through to eventually pass the campervan, gave him a quick beep and pointed at parking place sign and I seen in the rear view he flapped his arms as if 'ah well what can I do' fucking idiot.
  18. Spain allocation email came out with 3800 tickets available, was really hoping for more!
  19. He probably is, but not necessarily sure he should be.
  20. I've said many times people accelerating to block an overtake are up there with the worst c***s, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the head on's on the A82 are down to this, fortunately I'm almost always in a powerful enough car to negate it now, but there's always at least one every time I'm on that road. That and closing a gap that was there to return to and then blasting the horn at me as if they didn't just create their own problem. I didn't get to see their reaction, but ye know I really hope so.
  21. I think it's time Clarke maybe gave Liam Lindsay a chance, has always been a very good CB and now in a Preston side at the top of the Championship, got to be worth a look.
  22. Ah bollocks didn't think of that.
