  1. Mate, I really feel all of this. My almost 3 yr old wakes up every night, actually every night and wakes up the 3 month old, she says every night it's nightmares and worst thing is she only wants her maw who gets to sleep next to her and I basically feed, change and lie with the wee man for hours until he falls asleep. I just kinda exist around them, the thing that keeps me calm is lifting weights until I literally can't lift my arms. Years apart but the problems seem similar, drop me a wee shout if you fancy crying into a pint together
  2. Walking up to the ground last night in the warm air, but pissing down rain was quite unusual, no where near as unusual as that match. I don't think I've ever experienced anything like it or will again. Absolutely solid performance from the the ground staff, the players and SSC, couldn't fault any one of them. Kind of almost can't believe it, don't know what to say about the position we're in, it's completely uncharted territory for a fan of my age and probably even older generations. Not even cancelled trains, running / walking half way home in the pissing rain (no way I was leaving early) trying to get another train could dampen the mood. Just sheer joy, happiness, relief, pride all mixed together at how well we're doing right now Time to start planning Germany surely.
  3. Holt to Dundee Utd would be pretty awful tbh. I guess the contract rumours he'd agreed terms in Cyprus were a load of shite then as I'd imagine that would have been announced shortly after the end of the season.
  4. There's nothing quite like a cheeky wee free or good parking when parking circumstances are pish. I used to work in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and parking was either the APCOA parking nazis, Castle or Cathedral street parking, all required payment. However after a while I discovered this wee bit behind the old building that wasn't controlled by council, APCOA or anyone it seemed, a wee gem I even used for parking my car in the city until they finally put a barrier over it. I get the feeling you weren't meant to park there after some encounters, but there was no enforcement or signage. Until then I often parked in the old building car park where it was permit only, got a fine from the APCOA guys and then just keep putting the fine sticker back on the car every day, the perfect crime and they literally never clicked. Various debt companies chased me for years for that fine, eventually rising to around £260 I think. Not as bad as another guy I worked with who just parked wherever he wanted every day and got a fine every day, I remember talking to one of the APCOA parking guys who'd let me off with a fine a few times and so he should I was "moving hospital equipment" in my own car, he'd said about the rogue parking colleague that "he thinks he's so smart, that he'll never have to pay, but we're taking him to court and he has fines totaling nearly £20k" No idea if that ever happened, I doubt he'd be made to pay the full whack though.
  5. Greenied. Though, I'm currently sitting in my office at home in just shorts sweating my bollocks off. Me leaving this fucking sweat box and opening a cold one will be my separation of work and play.
  6. Punted out today thankfully as the missus was freaking out any time she opened it. Pity I didn't have any fishing planned soon.
  7. Apparently a few of us broke a no drinking at lunch time rule in a place I worked in. Head of the department walked past as we had a drink outside, stopped and said "alright lads having a wee drink are we" to which I replied "well, a pub lunch, but you fancy a pint anyway?" at that point he said "it's actually against company policy" I kind of looked around and we just carried on drinking and he walked off saying "oh anyway I see nothing" and immediately told all the bosses under him about it the little fucking weasel. It became a well known story that got told, on a night out someone was telling the story to me and some other lads "and this guy actually offered [name] a drink..." It wasn't a big deal, but this little wee man syndrome'd p***k made it one. Anyway, we were all contractors so not much you could do except bin us, but then you'd be losing half the team and the c***s that actually did any work. We were threatened with this, until I asked HR to provide the guidelines on it, which they couldn't and it turns out it was never an official rule. Probably is now I suspect.
  8. Found maggots in the outside wheelie bin, hunners of them. Scooped them out on the ground, poured some boiling water (already have enough flies don't want these cuntos pupating) and I'm now watching the birds have an absolute royal rumble over the feast like some deranged Bill Odie. Magpies = hard as nails man, first in fighting each other and barely any other birds got a look in, might have been a different story if a couple of gulls turned up.
  9. Years ago worked in a place that had parking along the front of the office, the prime spots as you could walk out the front door, jump in the car and off you f**k. They made a section of them visitors spaces, but no lines, I'd changed my car and never informed reception of this so often parked over half the car in non visitor space and a section of the car deemed to be encroaching the visitors space. What a fucking stir this caused, emails going around, people walking around the office asking who's car it was (obviously the lads I work with are no grasses so found it funny) I'd heard they'd even been checking security cameras but couldn't make out who it was due to the distance. Some days I'd arrive early with a choice to do it or not, I'd do it anyway as I found the whole thing funny and the visitors spaces were hardly ever used. Anyway I left the job and was told by a former colleague it was still considered an open incident for years after this, place was full of oddballs man.
  10. Think he was banned a while back. Can you fire Putin on your team for next year and do us all a bit of a favour. Every year I pick a team and think "Aye... no chance even half these c***s are seeing out the year" and yet here I am with one hit. Anyway, I'd insult you for your ability to pick people that are gonna pop their clogs but I'm worried I'd end up on your list so er well done.
  11. It's quite damning the amount of people I know with mental health issues related to parents / parental upbringing, whilst not necessarily having an obviously negative childhood. It all makes a lot of sense if you get a chance to spend a significant amount of time with the parent and child / children. I find it sad and frustrating the amount of traits / issues we inherit from our parents that remain with us all of our lives. They'll have no doubt had some issues passed down from their parents or generations. As a parent now, it's a fucking hard job to do well, constantly aware of my own mental state and desperately trying not to f**k up their little brains with all the problems I have, still inevitably failing at times. This was a long road to say the issues with your partners mum could very well be not entirely her own doing, do you look into that with them, accept it or cut them out for not having done the job they were supposed to? I try and give people the benefit of the doubt and err on the side of caution. I think CBT is an excellent thing, takes a lot of courage to speak to someone and face what is going on in your head, I've no doubt you'll have reassured her how well she is doing in just giving it a chance. The health thing is tough, finding an in-road to what would make an individual want to change I'd say is key, leading a horse to water and all that. There is similar things going on in my partners family maybe not yet to the extent yours is facing but it will come one day. I hope the weekend away goes well my friend and take time for yourself as being in the supportive role takes it's toll as well. Many happy returns for your daughter as well.
  12. I think he's had a good season and been excellent in the play offs, contributed to a lot of goals, think he has one of the highest assist tally's for us in a single season in a very long time. He was a bit meh under McCall at times, think Doolan got a lot more out of him. Don't grudge him the move either, would hope he'd stay but we're in no position to offer much. Would link up well with Tiffoney I'd imagine.
  13. A lot of what you said was similar to my feelings, it was truly a shite experience, but in the run up to it we had some absolutely belting nights out and pumped QP and Ayr comprehensively. Based on what happened on Sunday, would I change it, probably not tbh. Still sulked like a wee wean in the house for a couple of days though.
  14. Not a criminal offence to be utterly shit at managing the finances of a football club or half the BoDs in Scottish football would be in jail.
  15. Was thinking this as well. I guess what good would it have done, also, we can take it on the chin and move on unlike others.
  16. Fucking mental honestly. Low et al are utter charlatans and I fully endorse the TJF condemnation of them. I would imagine I'm not alone in that thought process, ergo TJF continue to unify the fan base.
  17. Tbh, it's ruined my day before lunchtime, I've loved watching Tiffoney this season, can be frustrating at times but mostly a joy to watch and more than capable of ripping a defence apart. How he'll manage the step up again I'm not sure, I wish him all the best though. Doc will be going to Killie man. Hoping that we somehow keep Turner. Now to go read the statement and see how much more my day will be ruined. Although I knew this was all coming.
  18. County fans bricking it more than us with all these excuses so far. We've had a makeshift defence for the majority of the season, rely on basically one ageing striker and missing our star left back. There we go.
  19. Adam Barton as well, went from strolling it comfortably, to literally just strolling around not giving a f**k. This for me as well. We'll either be in dreamland or crashing back to earth. Unbelievably I think County might actually sit back in the first leg, which might actually be a good shout if we can't break them down, I'd feel more confident if they came at us.
  20. Ticket for Sunday confirmed after a half hour wait, not awful by our standards.
