  1. Like the overwhelming majority of football fans in Scotland, regardless of whether they support either of these two clubs, I will.be watching this match with interest before heading out to support my own team once it's finished. We all know that, deep down, everyone and I mean EVERYONE will be rooting for one or the other in this fixture and I am no different. I'll be rooting for Rangers as I want Celtic to lose every single time they step on to the pitch. Like it or not, the Old Firm matter to the majority.
  2. I think you'll find you're wrong. There are plenty of posters on this forum who are actually alot more interested in Rangers than I am.
  3. I love Declan Gallagher. That is one fantastic result especially given that we were 0-1 down with ten minutes to go.
  4. It's as clear a red card as you will ever see and the moon howling crackpots probably know it deep down. As as I've said for years though, when Rangers are involved people lose the ability to think rationally.
  5. A comfortable win for the Rangers then. Slap-ious, putt-ious place-ious. Roon yees Hibs
  6. Hibs are losing the plot and misbehaving yet again it seems!
  7. It was a daft thing to do in front of opposition fans, whether you interpret it as a fist pump or otherwise. All the more so when he was already on a booking. You have a good player in Morelos but he needs to screw the nut and if I was Steven Gerrard I'd be fining him for that nonsense. That aside you guys were well worth your win yesterday, although we were absolutely awful. And as ever your support conducted themselves impeccably inside and outside the ground. I got chatting to a few walking back up the road yesterday, proper gents as Rangers fans tend do be in my experience. All the best, until our next meeting.
  8. Our last league win against them was the 26th December 2002 so if you are going by the exact date then yes, we have beaten them four times. That is still a pretty stinking record especially given that we have had sides which have regularly finished top six and qualified for Europe in that time, whilst they have had some of their worst sides ever. Meanwhile our peer sides have been able to regularly beat them in that same period. To put it in context, the last time Motherwell beat Rangers in the league it was still legal to smoke inside football grounds and James McFadden was a teenager.
  9. You don't say. I was of course being sarcastic and wasn't actually calling for such a sign to be installed. But it is however, a very frustrating part of supporting Motherwell and has been for the best part of seventeen years bar three occasions since then.
  10. Pathetic from us as usual against Rangers. Like rabbits in the headlights first half and completely impotent in attack whilst the midfield was non existent. Rangers we're in second gear yet we never laid a glove on them even when they went down to ten men. You could put a sign reading "Motherwell do not beat Rangers" above the tunnel at Fir Park and it wouldn't look out of place.
  11. I didn't realise you anyalysed my post frequency so closely. And a Motherwell fan posting regularly in a match thread involving the team he actually supports, and Rangers, is an indicator of obsession with Rangers? It's strange you should pick up on that, yet ignore the several 'neutrals' who are on this thread which doesn't involve their team. The same 'neutrals' that can usually be found on just about every Rangers match thread on here. Believe whatever you want.
  12. Correct and indeed our last two(three) wins against them came when they were heavy favourites and no one was giving us a hope in hell. Before the playoffs we had just had come off of an awful season and had that awful penultimate game at St.Mirren and not only were the media not giving us any chance, you'd have been hard pushed to find a Motherwell fan who wasn't resigned to relegation by this point. In the 2017 League Cup Semi Final we were a bit more confident but they went into the game on good form and it was as good as a home game to them given the crowd and of course you had BT Sports build up which had the Old Firm final as a dead cert by the midweek before the game. Any time over the past seventeen years that there has been any sort of expectation that we would beat them it's never happened. These types of games have tended to be when we have went into the game on good form whilst they have had some sort of on or off-field crisis and the odd draw apart, we have almost always ended up frustrated and disappointed. God, even some of the draws we've had in that time have been frustrating as f**k - Jim O'Brien's last minute penalty miss, the Forbes (non) offside goal/Reynolds howler 1-1 game, 2-0 up at half time end up 2-2 with Jamie Murphy scoring. As I said, a draw is the best we can hope for on Sunday but we'll be lucky to get that.
  13. Well that depends on the individual but in my opinion it's still a pretty sad thing to do. Someone getting a ticket to sit in the end of a team they don't actually support just so they can cheer said team on against Rangers is very strange behaviour imo, but as I said each to their own. It doesn't half give some credence to their dafties singing "Yer only here tae see The Rainjurz" mind you. I personally prefer to reserve my money and support for the team that I actually follow.
  14. Yes. There were plenty of 'pretend' Motherwell fans in our end at Fir Park on playoff Sunday and I defy anyone to contradict that. The same goes for the 2005 League Cup Final. There was also the incidence of a Glasgow based Celtic fan attending a European match at Ibrox, invading the pitch and attempting to chain himself to the goalposts. And I am sure that I remember (and I might be mistaken on this one, so in which case, I hold my hands up) that when Rangers/Sevco were playing away at Dundee United in 2013 in the Scottish Cup and there was talk of a Rangers/Sevco fans boycott, that there were certain posters in steelmenonline who were talking of going up to Tannadice to support United in order to help them negate the potential financial loss from the Rangers/Sevco boycott. So yes, it does happen. Edit to add: A wee check of the big 'Rainjurz debacle' thread page 141 on steelmenonline does indeed confirm that what I said there is pretty accurate.
  15. Well each to their own. Personally I value supporting my own team more than I do hating/obsessing about Rangers/Sevco and a win for us would be about a win for us, not for Scottish football and to please all the Rangers obsessed moonhowlers who hate Rangers more than they love their own clubs. But as I said, each to their own.
  16. He seems to do okay against everyone other than Celtic. I fear we will be on the end of a backlash.
  17. I'd rather beat them because that would mean that Motherwell have won and have finally got a league win against Rangers after 17 years of failing to do so. The rest of Scottish football has nothing to do with this fixture and what happens in it, this is about us, no one else.
  18. If we win we'll be doing it for ourselves, not Scottish football.
  19. We've scored 8 goals in 3 games and the strikers have scored 11 of our last 17. What would you consider "clinical"? We're slow in the final third and indecisive in the final third. That was evident again on Saturday and although we did score seven in the prior two matches, it is crystal clear that we still lack that finisher, that striker who will get you goals on a regular basis, ie a Louis Moult type player. (I'm not advocating us trying to resign Moult btw). I rarely bet.
  20. We've improved a good bit since the beginning of the season, indeed Hylton has really came onto a.game over the past month. We're still nowhere near clinical or sharp enough up front and also lack decisiveness in that area. Against Rangers who are quite a physical side we will struggle to create much, if anything in the final third and as ever, our best bet will be set pieces as I still think they struggle with that from what I've seen of them this season.
  21. Best of luck to him. It's a real pity injuries robbed him of his time with us as he looked a decent player but it was clear that he was nowhere near the fitness level we needed.
  22. You can take my predictions any way you like, I'll still be giving them and like everyone else sometimes I will be right and sometimes I will be wrong. And just for the record, irrelevant as it is here, Hearts with a fully fit, injury free squad ARE better than us man for man.
  23. "Best chance ever They're there for the taking They are demolraised We are playing well Can't wait We're going to win." I've seen this movie far, far too many times over the past seventeen years to know how this one pans out. And in that time the worst let downs have tended to happen when we have faced them when they are coming off a bad run of results and we are playing well, ie. top of the League in 2012, them just been papped out the challenge cup by QoTS. I've no crystal ball and I'm no psychic but I can confidently say this without any fear of being proved wrong whatsoever. Motherwell will not beat Rangers this coming Sunday. We might scrape a draw but that'll be our lot. 3-0 to Rangers.
