Yeah, I hope so, he's a good player. There is definitely a confidence issue, probably for the first time in his career. Certainly two seasons ago he would have backed himself all the way with both those breaks. It's telling that he looked to pass both times. Grigg on the other hand looks full of confidence. He's got to be looking at a call up for Scotland soon.

It's the six nations though, the biggest and most important tournament in rugby outside of the world cup, with many of the best players and arguably the best team in the world playing in it. It's one of the biggest sporting events of the year, with each game being played in front of packed stadiums. It's a bit different from being asked to shell out £30 to watch Scotland play Isreal in a match that very much is not the pinnacle of the sport inside an empty hampden.

It's not just that headbutts are fine, they basically put all the blame on Horne. It's fucking ridiculous the way certain players and teams are massively protected. You see guys like George Turner getting four weeks for running into Picamoles last season, and then you see that going unpunished. It's bullshit. Guys like Farrell, Itoje, Kolisi, the Vunipolas, the entire New Zealand and Irish teams and anyone else who might be on an advertising hoarding to sell tickets for the world cup are now completely untouchable.

Who you are and who you play for are by far the biggest factor in who gets cited and what the punishment is. If that had been a Tongan during the Wales game he would be fucked.

It's amazing the amount of people who don't get this. It's like me insisting Dennis Wyness was shit for ICT or Andy Webster was shit for Hearts.

Samson is a legend for us and I'm sad to see him go. I don't really care what other teams fans think to be honest, Samson was integral in our league cup win, and was far and away the best keeper in the championship last season. He was also much better than several bigger names that came before and after him at St. Mirren like Kello or Gallacher, and he even earned a call up to the Scotland squad, causing magnificent seethe. To be honest, he's not really supposed to be our number one this season anyway, he stepped in after Rodgers absolutely disastrous performance in the league cup and subsequent injury, and has been one of our best players, with the second highest amount of saves of any keeper in the league. It's sad to see him go.

Whoever comes in will either be a youngster we haven't heard of yet, a Scottish player coming back from England/France or an uncapped antipodean with a Scottish granny I reckon.

Pretty sure he just signed a four year contract with the Waratahs last month. I honestly can't see Glasgow signing an outspoken homophobe either.

To be fair to the guy, I don't think we were second choice, we didn't pick him. Gary Graham got a pretty raw deal from the SRU. He spent quite a time playing in the Scottish leagues and for the Scotland age group teams without getting a pro contract. He had to go to Jersey to get a pro deal in the championship when he was already about 22/23 and Newcastle picked him up from there. When you think of some of the shite playing for Edinburgh particularly under the Solomon's regime you can understand why he might have been a wee bit bitter about not getting picked up. Still, those comments he made about Scotland when he'd apparently decided on England mean there will be some serious pressure for him to perform. He's got a bit of winning over to do. To be honest, I did not expect this to ever happen.

Agreed, but I do wonder how many times he will be fit to play for Scotland. Under the SRU he must be one of the most managed players in the world. He barely plays for Glasgow anymore, he's basically just a full time Scotland player. I'm sure Exeter will be paying him a heavy wage, I reckon he could probably be looking at between £750k-£1m a year, so he's going to be playing every week. There must be question marks over his ability to do that.

The team isn't that weak to be fair. Gilchrist and Skinner are both very much in contention for a first team spot alongside Gray, and I think Brown is well worth his shot starting at hooker, he's been good this season. The back row is a bit green, but you've got Wilson in there and Strauss on the bench, and the backs are strong. We are building to the world cup and need to give people games. This team should be able to do the business, especially at Murrayfield.
