  1. I assumed when Hamilton left Leicester it was because he was signing for Glasgow for some reason. He seems exactly the kind of player we need right now. Anyway, it's a decent enough team, though not sure about Swinson at 6. From the last two games I'm guessing Townsend still thinks there is a lack of grunt in the pack, especially in the back row, and he's looking for someone more physical to stake a claim, probably at the expense of Wilson. Not sure how good USA are, but that team should have enough about it to score a few tries.
  2. Well, if the walkout has achieved at least on thing, it's a complete heads gone from the unionist and little England press. That Sunday Times guy posted a picture of the SNP "script" for today then claimed he was fishing when it turned out to be bollocks, Massie is in complete meltdown and I'm pretty sure Daisley hasn't tweeted for the last couple of hours because he's finally had that massive heart attack. He was seething!
  3. I think it was probably the right thing to do. Obviously it is a “stunt” but it generates publicity for the actual issue around the blatant attack on devolution that was in danger of being ignored again by the media.
  4. I don't know mate, I guess it may be on the iplayer. I just heard it in my car on the way to work.
  5. Fair play to Gary Robertson on Radio Scotland there. Gave Mundell an absolute kicking, you could tell Mundell was starting to lose it a bit at the end when he was desperate to just start talking about independence and Robertson was having none of it.
  6. I actually thought Denton was ok. I thought he made yards almost every time he got the ball and he was a decent lineout option as well. Not sure many of the first choice backs will be overly worried about their place today. Think only Kinghorn and Price will be a definite for the world cup squad. Jackson will probably make it as he is versatile, but won't play in the big games.
  7. I thought it was just because we hadn't actually been very good for the past while. I thought we were back on it from this summer onwards? Could be wrong.
  8. Yeah, which is fair enough. We are going to need a big squad with Japan and Samoa in the group. It's going to be a tough ask to qualify, especially as I think we might have Samoa and Japan back to back with a 4 day gap.
  9. It's an interesting line up! To be fair, all these guys either need a chance yo stake a claim or a bit of game time after a few injuries. We are obviously getting Lang capped asap as well to stop anyone else, though I'm surprised he's not playing at 10. Probably one of the weakest backlines we've put out in a while, but there should be enough in the pack.
  10. Hay chewing bumpkins with geography issues launching straight into it here. You can smell the fear.
  11. Yeah, it certainly looks that way. Some fall from him, he was pretty much nailed on for the Celtic job a few years ago. Just shows how important it is for these managers to move when their stock is high.
  12. It's ok, there's nobody in the top 5 I would be particularly unhappy with, though I think it's maybe a bit too soon for Goodwin. I'm actually a bit surprised not to see Coyle on there to be honest.
  13. St Mirren had a better defensive record because they had a good defence and goalkeeper. Samson was integral to that. I agree though, the standard of keeper in the league generally was poor. I saw some absolute horrorshows this season from various goalkeepers, especially in games against ICT, Queens and Falkirk, but Samson was pretty solid throughout. As I said before, we might go and sign a new goalkeeper, but I don't think it will be a priority, there are much bigger gaps needing filled.
  14. We got to see him play a lot more often probably. Lots of people laughed when we signed him, and don't like to admit they were wrong, but the facts are Samson was excellent for us this season. To be fair, there probably isn't much in it between Alexander and Samson, but I'd rather have Samson.
  15. Yet for all that, St Mirren had a better defensive record than Livi last season, and Samson was key in that. The amount of big saves he made in key moments was a major factor in us having the league wrapped up so early.
  16. Alexander cost you two games against us, especially the second one where he was woefully soft. Every goalkeeper at this level is prone to mistakes, but Samson was a key figure in our saunter to the title, he saved us far more points than he cost us.
  17. Samson is fine. He's no world beater, but that's why he plays for St Mirren. He was comfortably the best keeper in the championship last season, and at Saints at least, he's been much better than bigger (and more expensive) names like Paul Gallacher, Marian Kello and Jamie Langfeild. He's also better than Billy O'Brien. We could probably get a better keeper, but it's not a priority.
  18. That's what I always think about Hughes, he's a good option to come in and keep things running and tell them all what a great bunch if lads they are when things are going well and the manager who put the team in place has gone on to better things, but he's not a fixer.
  19. Spot on, that's exactly what I was coming on here to say. I would be very happy with Hopkin.
  20. Div might get some stick, but you know the guys trawling through his Twitter account so they can post about it on here need pie and bovril far more than he does. They should be grateful.
  21. I think we'd definitely have been interested anyway. Are you glad Thistle stuck with him?
  22. Me too. Saw a lot of folk moaning that there are too many "recent" players there (Even insisting Dan Fucking Parks should be ahead of Russell!), seemingly ignoring the fact we were utter shite until recently. Leone should have been in though.
  23. I see Lacey is the ref, with Brace and Murphy as assistants. Great.
  24. Ridiculous from Thomas there. Bet that decides it.
