Strange, felt reasonably confident at half time with majority of possession, and chances with very little from Kelty. Second halve a positive substitution from Kelty and negative changes from Queens and its came over (and Season over). Paton had his usual miss when he should have scored but the team really didn’t look like scoring. Thought number 22 for Kelty was very good and the type of player Queens need.

Agree with all of this if we stay in Div 1. If, although unlikely, we get up to Championship then prob alters things slightly. Think some of the loanees will more likely stay and doubt Paton is good enough for Championship level. Reilly has been a real frustration as he obviously should have what it takes (esp for Div 1) but for some reason has really let himself down. In terms of getting to the play off then we should finish above montrose and edinburgh (certainly on current form) so it depends what happens to Alloa and Airdrie. We we only play Alloa once more and we need to play Dunfermline twice then I think it will be a really long shot to over take them. We do play Airdrie 2x so that might be the key and could be an exciting end to the season.

Looking at the other league 1 transfers on BBC, surprised we didn’t try and get another defender. Any of the ones listed would be an improvement. Is it a case no one wants to come to us, lack of funds or just inertia. Still think with the current defence we can basically lose any game. Any one know if Kabia can take penalties.

Hope our defenders were watching the match last night and take note. I would be worried if I was any of them and would recommend starting some night classes.

I’m in 2 minds if a move now would actually help him or not. Would mean better training and quality of team mates but probably won’t get that much game time and certainly not at premiership level yet?

There used to be a large gap with fitness but no longer the case, esp with Queens who I always feel start to run out of puff after 80 mins and often look less fit than the part time teams. Not sure if its players, training, fitness coach. Feel the defenders really need to pull the socks up or there careers will be over. Can’t see any of them staying on and would be surprised if any other full time teams, or even PT teams would be that impressed with their performance this year. Probably will find their level at some pub league side. Harsh i know but not sure if there are actually any worse defenders in any of the 4 Scottish leagues at the moment. Who knows if Marvin will be able to turn them around.

To be honest this result maybe a godsend in the long run. It at least means that Murray won’t get the gig (not even our board are that blind) and so may have a better long term outcome. The players that WG and Murray brought in are really awful (with a cple of exceptions).

just watched the highlights and really grim. Could easily have been 7 or 8. Don’t actually think the defence and goalkeeper can actually get any worse no matter who we get in. Really need to get a loan goalkeeper in at the very least. The advantage would be they should get guaranteed game time and plenty of action.

The really sad thing is I didn’t think it would end up like it has. I was reasonably optimistic back in July, maybe not winning the league but up there in the top 4 with consistent good performances. Number of players have really played below par and WG has made some strange decisions. Never saw Edinburgh, Alloa or Montrose doing as well as they have. Feel really deflated about the whole season, and Sat was really the end for me, prob the worst i felt about Queens since the 80s.

Thought Queens played well, and that i still had hope till the 86th min says a lot. Didn’t look like a prem vs 1st div outfit.

I also hear someone called Gibson has the qualities we need. Takes no crap and can organise the back line. Not sure what he has to do to get a game.

Yep not much too add, however i do think we’ll be safe this year but won’t be in the top four. Slightly depressing to say this after only 5 game but c’est la vie..

Aberdeen need to win to be a seeded team next round, that should give them something to play for.

Don't think there is a massive difference between champioship and league 1 ( certainly not the top half) Think we are about to find out how tough it is.

One of the major problems we has last season and the reason we got relegated was the number of late goals we conceded. (18 in the last quarter). This was either due to poor fitness or lack of experience in closing games off. Certainly SD would give us the experience and professionalism that was lacking last season but unfortunately at the cost of fitness, but if we used him wisely for the last 10-15 mins it may just work. However i may well just be deluded.

Not sure what age he is but think he could make a real impact in league 1 and really kick start his career rather than fizzling out at PT.

And some folks still want Gibson to have the gig

I fear for us next season, the fact we cant hit the target will mean we will continue to struggle. I know most will disagree but if only we still had dobbie.

A lot of our problems stem from inexperience and naivety. If only we could see games out.

Looking at soccerstats, the last quarter is when we lose the most goals and least likely to score, so i suppose not unexpected.
