  1. If they baked them so that they could be served hot they'd have to account for VAT. They bake them so that they can be eaten, not so they can serve hot. So no VAT. Whether hot or cold, Greggs is shite.
  2. Is an ethnic Russian a Russian? Can the government of a failed state be held accountable for things it can't control whether it wants to or not?
  3. It's a possibility. Also possible that they just didn't give enough of a shit to investigate or prosecute. Were they Russian?
  4. It's difficult to give a definite answer to a vague question. If you count shooting and bombing mistreatment, then yes, probably. There has been a wee bit of bother there recently. It's not clear that there has been officially sanctioned mistreatment (other than legitimate war fighting) on account of Russian nationality. There have been plenty of reports of pro government militia doing bad shit. There have been plenty of reports of the government doing bad shit but they usually come from Russia and are hotly debated. Ukraine (presuming you mean the state) has also been fighting Ukrainians in the Donbass. It is not only Russians that would prefer Ukraine to be more closely aligned with Russia than with the West.
  5. It does have better international coverage than any UK channel irrespective of being owned by Qatar. Not sure what's edgelordy about preferring reports from the Indian election or war in Burkina Faso to Charlie Stayt interviewing some c**t off of Strictly? Must be a VL.
  6. This is superficially reasonable. Except the bit in bold. Getting returns from passive investment is only possible because of the exploitative power relations in the economy that allow business owners to capture the larger part of the surplus from workers' labour. That's then compounded by the tax system in our country being biased towards capital o er labour and taxing returns to labour excessively. If you want to defer your consumption until you are to old to enjoy it that's up to you. But don't pretend it's some anti establishment rejection of consumerism. It's "if you can't beat em join em"
  7. First series started well but tailed off and was mostly ok. Second wasn't good and i didn't give the third past the first couple of episodes. That's enough to put it comfortably in my top 10% of Tv shows.
  8. Turning Red. By Pixar. Don't know if this got a cinema release but i suspect not. Teenage angst around a "tiger mom"/ daughter relationship with shapeshifting. It was ok but always felt a bit misconceived. The kids enjoyed it. I liked some of the retro (20 years) detail, mobile phones and boybands. Story was average. Main character was quite well rounded but the rest were bolted on. Unusually for Pixar, it looked like shite. Plenty bits of quite good fun though. Six, by the skin of its teeth.
  9. So? Who said that it was? There was a tweet and an article that both said that a complaint had been upheld. You said it wasn't true because Guido told you that. It was true. That's why the government hasn't had full costs awarded.
  10. Shakey didn't have time to fix them
  11. You missed Hunt I worked with a guy called Jeremy. He was ok.
  12. If you enjoy financial planning, you batter on. It takes all sorts i suppose.
  13. It's very good. Another year's VoyantGo and it will be a third level Thetan.
  14. It's inevitable that we win this to keep our top six hopes alive until Ross County 's last minute equaliser in three weeks time. Sorry hibs.
  15. Did you say "Grant Shapps?" https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/revealed-grant-shapps-getrichquick-guide-or-it-that-michael-green-s-8209978.html
  16. This is analogous to that "eat fewer calories and exercise more" shite that gets bandied about. I know the theory....
  17. My youngest binged the last couple of weeks of a recent Junior bake off at the weekend. It was quite good to sort of half watch while shitposting or reading a book. I can't stand the grown up version. Harry Hill was great at bantering with the kids and at irritating them.
  18. As communities go, i think that scientologists and incels sound better than this one.
  19. I looked up what the corrupt lying b*****d had done about Russia as Foreign Secretary and it does seem like he was broadly critical. Examples here: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/dec/22/boris-johnson-meets-russian-counterpart-sergei-lavrov-moscow https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/four-years-since-the-illegal-annexation-of-crimea-article-by-boris-johnson Being influenced by individual russians isn't necessarily the same as being influenced by the Russian state. It does increase the possibility that he might be though.
  20. The wider political culture at the time was conducive to it as well. Remember Mandleson saying he was "intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich" The tide hadn't yet gone out.
