  1. At a club like ours, persuading the board to get the chequebook out is a valuable part of a manager's skill set. You only have the chance to be a chequebook manager if you make it. Did Jimmy not have a reasonably successful caretaker stint at Killie or am i imagining that?
  2. Fair enough, i've not seen them and have no case for doubting your objectivity.
  3. I can think of the mcgregor one but the other two weren't on the highlights. The McGregor one probably was a stamp but was really arguable and could have been accidental. Morelos was absolutely blatant. If you're claiming those as almost identical incidents then i doubt your objectivity.
  4. It also highlights that rangers* have been shown to have got away with quite a lot.
  5. It does feel like, over the years i can remember, that Rangers and latterly sevconians have got away with more brutal thuggish assaults unpunished than other teams. Recent seasons have seen the baton pass to Celtic and Cro magnon broonie. Him landing two footed and late on Marley Watkins knee fucked our season, and Watkins leg, and didn't even get a booking. The team that gets away with most is St mirren though. The dirty hoors.
  6. Less likely to be eaten by a bear or a bullshark in Milton Keynes.
  7. The End of Evangelion (1997). Apocalyptic Anime Sci Fi. Visually incredible. Makes you work a bit to work out what's going on or has been going on, but not too hard. A bit avant garde in the structure. Only criticism is that the jism in the opening scene could have been better drawn. 8/10
  8. Not sure this if has been posted yet. Heard a sample from the original yesterday which reminded me:
  9. One takeaway from Curtis' documentaries is that in the marketplace of ideas the marketing is way more important than the quality of the product. Maybe if you set your arguments to entertaining archive footage with an incongrous soundtrack they'd be more interesting and people would pay attention to them. Personally i do buy some of the broader narratives but find some of them over simplistic or just wrong but i enjoy the presentation. I think there is merit in the great man view but do agree that (except in the one about computers) he almost ignores systemic, emergent phenomena.
  10. That’s brilliant. I love the logic of having to spend more on petrol because you don't get the mileage in kilometres. And 10 years in the war seems unlikely. It never occurred to me that decimalisation was associated with Europe. I hope we don't go back because i've very little idea how many chains are in a furlong or bob in half a crown. If we could adopt babylonian style base 60 though that would be great and not European at all.
  11. You never know. People vote for any old shite apparently.
  12. I'd be surprised if a "movement" which seems to be based on majority white anglophone imaginary kinship manages to avoid association with the unofficial figurehead for unspoken racist xenophobia. I don't particularly want the two to be associated. But i am unashamedly a detractor who is already convinced this is some sort of colonial throwback.
  13. All the introductory stuff in the CPTPP treaty (including the TPP agreement) talks about it being a regional organisation to meet regional aims. I expect that we'll be politely told to do one in much the same way as when Morocco was when it applied to join the EU. Anyway, Farage already said it is bad. He gave some shitey excuse about it being based on the EU but you just know he's dying to come out with stuff about the Burma Railway and to use Clarkson's Mexican material.
  14. I'll be going for the Gaelic replay for £0.00 (marginal cost, before anyone starts about the tv licence). Last time this choice was available i opted for the live stream and watched us get hammered by Ross County, so i'm hoping my thriftiness will help us get a result here.
  15. I've not played at any real level but i'd be curious to know how having a vocal captain would overcome our absence of tactics. I'm not saying it's unimportant who the captain is but i am saying i don't think that's our main issue.
  16. I did that last year by putting on rice and forgetting about it. It's quite easy.
  17. I don't think we lack leadership, i think we lack a plan. There's often very little movement around the man with the ball and we either take an age to go back to front or just leather it if the defender has no pass on. Not sure how having someone shouty is going to help that.
  18. At the tea point in my old work i asked a notorious moaning faced bint how were things. She told me about her gripe with her boss, car trouble and how she was coming down with a cold. I couldn't help an audible guffaw when she ended with "still, musn't grumble". I'm still not sure if she was joking.
  19. I loved Dodds when he played for us but he's a medical grade moron.
  20. We were better in the second half but not good. No real plan to break teams down again. Livi were the better team over the 90. Have to wait til Saturday to get 3rd back.
  21. McLennan stuck his hand in the air a couple of seconds later as a half hearted afterthought. You lads were posting 2 pixel freeze frames through tears and snotters for days.
