  1. If it is true, are we not due something like £300k as a development fee? Not bad for someone who will have played about 15 first team games. I'm still not convinced he'll go to Rangers.
  2. Even if we were to win at Hibs we would still be 4 points off them going by those predictions. Can't help but think it will be a bit beyond us but a few months ago it would have been mental to even suggest it as a possibility.
  3. I thought Rankine sounded quite sensible compared to the other two but that's damming with faint praise. It was absolutely painful to listen to.
  4. I take it he's deliberately pouring his drink out because he thinks it'll be funny in the photo (Or he's completely smashed).
  5. I'm pretty sure that was part of the Harry Benson exhibition I saw recently at Pollok House. Bit of a contrast with some of the other pictures of Muhammad Ali and the Kennedys. There's so much going on in that photo but what struck me was the lack of scarves. I thought they would have been around in 1971 but obviously bunnets still ruled the day and it was pretty standard for a man of a certain age to wear a shirt and tie to the football. Eta: The caption at the exhibition said it was an Old Firm game if that helps date it.
  6. Is that a young Martin O'Neill on the right? Was he not playing for Forest in those days?
  7. I was dotting about today but heard bits of the commentary when I was in the car. Don't know who the third guy was but he was but he came across as quite sensible compared to Tanner and John Hughes who were excruciating. At one point just after an Inverness substitution Tanner said they now had a lot of height up front- Hughes insightful response was "Yip".
  8. What's happened to Sportscene? The Saturday afternoon programme was ditched yesterday in favour of the English results programme and there doesn't appear to be the usual early evening highlights programme on tonight. Looks like the 10.30pm programme only.
  9. They were saying on the radio this afternoon that a deal had been done with Leeds but didn't mention a figure.
  10. Great clips- thanks. Funny how the mind plays tricks. On the game I remembered I was wrong about the time of year and it being midweek but right about the score, lilac Rangers strip and the link up play for the goal. What a pass from Coyne!
  11. Was that the lilac kit? I remember us beating Rangers (2-1?) in maybe February or March to claw them back a bit and show we were properly challenging them. Marvellous midweek game under the lights with tremendous link-up play for a goal between Coyne and Arnott. I don't think Basile Boli knew what to do with Dougie!
  12. Aberdeen overtook us on the last day due to us suffering a surprise home defeat. We actually ran Rangers close that year but just seemed to run out of steam.
  13. We were already on the slide that season as McLeish had started to make changes to the team. We actually had more of a title challenge the previous year in Tommy's last year.
  14. I'm still thinking about goalies and you've started on forwards! Samson's experience and subsequent disastrous form overshadows the other poor keepers with relatively low appearances for me. Dubordeau was probably slightly above average for me but with that blinder against Rangers. The moment that sticks in my craw though is a crappy midweek game petering out to a goalless draw at Kilmarnock and he caught the ball then elbowed the oncoming forward. Completely unnecessary. Red card, penalty and 1nil defeat - just like that.
  15. My apologies to Grant Stott for mixing him up with Julyan Sinclair! I've either blanked seeing Speirs' performance in the flesh or they let us out.
  16. The Scotsport revamp with the fans' terrace had Sarah O and Grant Stott as presenters (I think). The Delahunt and Spiers revamp was one of the many others. I had the dubious honour of being one of the fans on the terrace on the first edition of that particular revamp.
  17. He's been playing well but has the sort of interesting past that tends to get people commenting on the family club side of things.
  18. For some reason Miller said what he would have done in a similar situation but wouldn't be drawn on his opinion of whether McGregor's actions were right or wrong. I thought he was paid to give an opinion. It was a strange programme last night. I listened to it on my way home from Paisley and if it was any mention of another game was an inconvenience and they couldn't get back to talking about the Aberdeen v Rangers game quickly enough.
  19. After the game he summarised the contributions of Celtic's new signings and then..... nothing. I was left saying to the radio "OK Pat, what about Hibs and their new signings"? Then Gordon Smith said there had been more pressure on Rangers than Aberdeen as they were trying to maintain a title challenge.
  20. Richard Gordon said at one point yesterday afternoon that Dundee United's victory meant they were closing in on the top two in the Championship and I'm sure he said the same a few weeks ago as well. Absolute nonsense on both occasions as the top two also won so the gap remained the same.
  21. I'm starting to wonder if we're writing this season off (understandably) and are just trying to save a bit of cash.
  22. Sounds made up to me. They don't have a manager so who would be making that sort of decision? Not Eddie May, that's for sure- he seems to be distancing himself from any responsibility.
  23. Cheers. Only 17 - there's a real mix of youth and experience in that team.
