The St. Mirren v Hearts thread for next weekend is already heading down similar lines with hardly any posts from Hearts fans but supposedly the shit-show of a thread for our cup game against them was one-off (as was their thread against Dundee, the one against Aberdeen and the one for yesterday's game).

Ah well, was going to go for Raith but their fans were convinced their Inverness hoodoo was going to continue so I went for United instead. That'll teach me.
Good luck to the remaining 19 and thanks to Poet for organising!

Interesting to compare the thread on this game with the fairly normal thread with Kilmarnock when we won when a draw would probably have been fair.

Don't know why, but I'm not confident about this. Maybe the return of Mandron and O'Hara isn't a good omen for us.

An unchanged pie line up for tomorrow with star striker tikka chasni being ably supported by donner pakora...
Are the pies also available in the away stand? Might be worth posting in the match thread.

Good news. The chasni pie a comfortable winner over the donner for me.

Red blaes was a by-product of shale mining, shale was mined and then heated to produce shale oil. I assume black ash was a by-product of the coal mining but both were generally referred to as ash parks (going up the ashy).
I don't think I ever saw an orange mould-master, always white. Pretty sure they were footballs and not netballs though!

Johnson and Moult were successful acquisitions and we more than made our money back on them. We probably saw it as a promising business model but it hasn't really worked out that way since.

Another classic. Better that than your skin. I had grazes from red ash pitches that literally took years for the scars to go. Character building .

For some reason the picture of the poster hadn't shown up when I was typing my previous reply. They must have produced different versions or my mind is playing tricks on me as I think mine was slightly different. I think that's the Wales one to the right of the logo at the bottom - another stoater.

Now you're talking, even the Dundee strip's a cracker.
I've just noticed the wee tassels on the socks in the photo you posted - marvellous. Never seen anything like it.

I had a poster on my bedroom wall as a child in the 70's (my parents must have got it) with all the Admiral strips around the edges and an action photo in the middle. There really were some absolute crackers. Wish I'd kept it.

Please tell me the Coventry strip was the brown away one!

True story, Provan Sports that used to operate in Paisley also operated from Motherwell I believe.
Back when I was a wee boy, they had a shop in Paisley called Total Football and as soneone who was mad into football kits in my youth, I'd wear one all the time and was out kicking a ball morning and night so always had one on. I used to go check their clearance rack every week as some of their tops were as low as a fiver.
I got some absolute crackers from that clearance rack for next to heehaw (Ghana home top, Sheffield Wednesday 1996, Anderlecht with the big horrific Red G on the front) but the one that always stuck out to me was getting this for a fiver and it was a beauty.
To this day, the only Scottish club shirt I've ever owned that wasn't a Saints top. I absolutely loved it and it would probably be worth a fortune nowadays.
That's a favourite of many, very possibly because it was worn by probably the best team in the lives of most 'Well fans (perhaps excluding the generation old enough to remember the Ancell Babes). Worn by the likes of Arnott, Coyne and you may remember Lambert and Martin).

Prospects for this thread if there’s a winner just got even worse. Motherwell win and it’s a heavy dose of ‘Paisley minks can’t even beat our reserves’. St Mirren win and it’s a heavy dose of ‘Enjoy your win against our reserves. What a minter, celebrating a 1-0 against a Motherwell side fielding three teenagers, six fringe players, and Senga the tea lady in goals’.
Please let this finish 1-1. It’s for the best.
Does Senga come out for crosses?

Efford was on c2k a week from what I heard. Similar to Lamie. Saved about 100k per year between the two of them is the info I got which is no mean feat. 'Managing out' springs to mind. Haha
Did you hear c2k a week each or 100k per year saving between the two of them?
2k a week means they're each on roughly 100k, 100k between the two of them means they were on 50k each or a grand a week which isn't that much of a surprise. Or is the saving likely to be net pay-off/residual wages to Lamie?

The rule requiring buses to arrive between 1 and 2 hours before kick-off is pretty much encouraging people to go to the nearest pub. Admittedly, some venues are more suited to that than others.

That St. Johnstone game was the real low point. I actually had some confidence going in to that game and we turned in an insipid performance and were easily beaten. It was only the amount of incoming players that prevented Hammell being booted out there and then.

You've not read the proposal on the government website through the link, have you? It's specifically about extending it into Scotland. And while the headline talks about travel to sporting events, the proposal says it's specifically intended for association football.

I think that's right. As we've got a Rangers/Celtic double header approaching, I've got a feeling things are going to change a bit...
I completely understand it's too good to last but considering we were bottom of the league shortly before he took over, it's quite the turn around. We've carried a bit of luck in the last two games which could easily have been draws and there will no doubt be draws to balance those but there's just a structure to the team that hasn't been evident in quite some time.

Am I right in saying we've only lost 2 league games under Kettlewell? Incredible.
