Alan Preston was getting excited on the radio about some new St. Johnstone player who he said was lightning quick. Is that him and is he his agent?

Wiki says he's 5ft 10 - not in the Ketts mould at all. Might be a good thing though, what's it called when you do the same thing over and over again expecting different results?
Wiki also has Davor as 5'9" so I'm not sure what to make of Wiki.

That'll be Gent back to left back after his one game on the wing.

I saw that and couldn't believe how blatant the mistake was. At least they play in blue and white- close enough

I'm hoping we're aiming a bit higher than the current version of James Scott and that the ongoing clear-out is to allow us to bring us in a few higher quality players rather than hunners of dross.
Mind you, I won't be that surprised if I'm completely wrong.

No.
That was Connor Smith.
Had no idea he'd been mentioned as being in on trial but either way, coming off the back of c***s talking about Zak Rudden this doesn't feel like the worst.
I'd imagine he'll fit in as either the #10 that Spittal plays or as one of the inside forwards of the 3.
Thanks. I'm losing track.

Is he that guy that Kettlewell told Scott Burns we had no interest in him?

As far as I remember, Rangers were playing St. Johnstone in a televised game with an earlier kick off that night and by coincidence some cops were on their way back to Greenock having worked at Ibrox and were told to get to Cappielow after the trouble kicked off.
By the time it kicked off we were in extra time so I dare say that could’ve been an explanation for why there were so many.
I couldn't remember for sure whether they came from St Mirren or Rangers but Rangers seemed even more of an over-reaction! Your explanation makes sense though.

Chic Young was making it out to be WW3. They were bringing in police reinforcements from Paisley for someone tripping over a bench.

1) Someone we've heard of
2) but not someone who's played for Rangers, Celtic or Hearts
3) and not someone that has been round too many clubs - shite journeyman (but needs to know the league)
4) Someone who is not too young and on loan as we don't want to develop other people's players
5) Not someone too old and past it but must be experienced
6) Someone from the lower leagues in Scotland but they have to be an instant success at the higher level
7) Someone that doesn't break the wage structure but not an English lower league jobber or a cheap foreigner
8 ) Someone who's not out of favour at their current club but is instantly available
9) Someone who the manager knows already but isn't part of an "old pals act"
It's amazing how a good start can get the fans excited. We took a chance on someone called Scott McDonald and he came on and scored a debut goal in a cup game at Perth.
On the flip side, there's David Ferrere. Lots of excitement that didn't really amount to much.

Is that supposed to be him signing his loan deal? A bit odd when surely it's just worked out between the clubs.
There was talk before of English clubs being limited to 5 cross-border loan deals which made me think 'fair enough, Mika potentially prevents a deal for a first team player from Germany or Spain'. But no, this deal shows I was being too kind in giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Are we allowed to play triallists in the cup? Any chance of the German boy making an appearance as Tony Riallist?

Probably is a probably not but you could also say it's just public negotiation to put pressure on KVV and Groningen to take more of a haircut for the next six months.
Because let's be honest, he clearly doesn't want to be there and not only do they not especially want him there, they basically came out and called him fat and unprofessional the other week.
Their negotiating position is through the floor. Not only are they going to struggle to get anyone to pay anything significant of his wages towards the rest of the season, come summer who is going to spend serious money on an enigmatic but unhappy 33-year-old with issues who probably hasn't played first team football for eight months if he stays in their reserves?
We are very quickly approaching the point where Groningen's best - nearly only option - is to take what pennies in the pound they can shipping him to Scotland till May so he can sort himself out and score enough goals that ideally someone gambles on him properly in June or, perhaps, he's then ready for 24/25.
I'm sure Groningen will turn down an offer to cover 25% of his wages now but in two weeks time I doubt it...
I can see him getting a loan deal with a Scottish club but probably not us. My money would be Aberdeen, particularly if someone comes in with money for Miovski in the last week of January and they go for the lazy option. I can see Aberdeen being precisely the sort of place he could go in the huff.

Other than the last paragraph, is that not his statement from around Christmas time?

Stewart signs for Killie. I keep banging this drum but if KVV is properly hell bent on coming back to Scotland then a)who else still needs a forward and b)what other forwards could we sign?
Not going to lie, would have been happy to sign Stewart.

Remember, this time last year, Hammell brought in a whole stack of players but wasn't able to improve the performances or results, despite some of them going on to be good signings. We need to hope Kettlewell can get a tune out of whoever he does bring in this time around as well otherwise we're looking at a repeat of changing manager again.

I'm assuming I'm a bit older than you as I have a vague memory of my dad taking me to a Scottish Cup game at Recreation Park which we won 2-0. My only memory is that you paid in to the terracing and then there was a separate entrance inside the ground where you paid an extra 50p if you wanted to go into the stand.
I gave up expecting to win against any team long ago so no shaking in my boots from me. I'll just be watching the game through my fingers, if I take my boots I might make the bench.

That Hearts trackie top nearly saw my lunch come back up.

If Wilkinson is the answer, I'm not sure what the question is.
There has to be someone out there we can get in at least on a par.

Agreed he'd be an improvement on any of the other forwards we have (assuming the Mika departure rumours are correct).

I know it's highly unlikely we're going to sign KVV anyway but am I the only one thinking he possibly hit a purple patch with us and he's more likely to be the slightly off the pace, huffy bugger version?

Going by recent events (at other clubs as well, not just the Biereth rumours), it's looking like season-long deals aren't worth the paper they're written on.

I don't know how reliable The Star is but they also have other Championship clubs interested in that article. I didn't realise Biereth is London-born, just assumed he'd come over from Denmark at a young age.
