  1. My last two in Spain. Both malty, darker beers with the San Miguel Tostada Extra being a wee bit sweeter than the 15&30 Tostada. Both lovely.
  2. I don't think we're quite as bad as suggested. We're trying to playing attacking football but have a bit of a soft centre and have been losing some really avoidable goals. Despite some nice play at times we're not scoring enough goals (apart from County when all our promise seemed to come good) and current injuries mean we can't change things around up front and are missing all of our pace. I don't know much about Aberdeen - we're capable of beating them but our recent defensive shit-shows make me think we'll concede more than we score.
  3. If he could stop them being absolute dicks, that would be a good start.
  4. Another few from the speciality beer section of my (briefly) local Spanish supermarket. These are all coming in at around one euro although some are as little as 50 cents. Mahou IPA is a pretty reasonable IPA and La Sagra's Red Criolla is a nice, rich dark beer. Reminds me a bit of Innis and Gunn's whisky infused IPA.
  5. Apart from the ridiculous kick-off time, it's the school holiday week. I'm sure I'm not the only one missing the game because of a family holiday.
  6. I was trying to remember Aaron Chapman's name- cheers. The big question is, would you prefer him in goals to Craig Samson? I'm slightly erring on the Samson side.
  7. 15% is a bit more than slightly alcoholic although I've only ever had it as shots. And yeah, definitely strawberry Yazoo! Anyway, I'm on holiday in Spain and, while the beer in the bars is fine (generally standard lager at 2.5-3€), the local supermarket market has a great choice in their speciality beer section. Victoria's Marenga from Malaga is lovely and malty. Some duty-free Jura beside it!
  8. Kelly's distribution was poor against Rangers but I was quite impressed with the way he was pinging the ball out to the wings against Hibs. There's probably an element of Rangers putting more pressure on him and not leaving men free for him to play it to.
  9. Superior Export IPA from Fyne Ales. Wow, this has got a lot going on with a bit of oomph at 7.1%.
  10. Sitting behind the goal, it made a lovely swishing noise as it hit the net. As you say, couldn't have been any more in the corner.
  11. Is that just the way they serve them there? You'd be sending that back or asking for a flake here. Different cultures I suppose. Anyway, the beers you've been having look great.
  12. Sitting behind the goal, it didn't look there was anything in it at the time- was it just straightforward abuse of the head knock rule? Similarly, there was an incident a little bit earlier when a Motherwell player slid in and cleanly knocked the ball out of play at the touchline. Cue the Rangers left-back rolling about in agony. Was there anything in that? Didn't look it. The ref awarded the throw so didn't fall for it but it had the desired effect of wasting some time.
  13. McKinstry is right up there in the one-footed stakes as shown by his attempts to catch a ball at the bye line last week. I would have preferred to see Cornelius instead of Morris and who would have thought last season we'd be disappointed to see Efford unavailable.
  14. Was that one of the Aldi Beer Festival? I picked up quite a haul tonight but that wasn't one of them- sounds like I made a mistake! Anyway, starting on Tropical Trossachs from Lidl. Had better of this type to be honest.
  15. Who is our player in the middle of this pic? I thought it was Tierney at first glance but seeing as he looks about twice the size of anyone else, it obviously can't be.
  16. It's lovely stuff. You can get a litre of it for around £38 at the airport duty free according to the website. I had hoped to pick up a bottle when I go on holiday next week but it doesn't seem to be available at the airport I'm flying from despite the website making it look like you can reserve in advance.
  17. Marshall had a cracking save when he turned a low shot round the post in the second half - that'll be it.
  18. Really enjoyable episode last night. The social media episode is great for catching up on stuff that pass old guys like me by - the Oompah band at Raith Rovers was tremendous.
  19. Sweet Wheat - American Wheat Beer from..... Stavanger in Norway?! Not much taste to be honest, I like my wheat beers to taste like wheat beers.
  20. Orange Is The New Ale from Susquehanna in Pennsylvania. Some fruit flavoured beers don't do it for me but this, like Disco Forklift Truck or Elvis Juice, definitely works. Just enough fruit flavour to leave it still tasting like a beer and not a fruit drink.
  21. Ink & Dagger Modern IPA (whatever that means) from Norway. Lovely, sweet and hoppy.
  22. I'm on a few from Beer 52 tonight. First up, Winding Path Pilsner from Pennsylvania. Lovely and sweet.
  23. Cheers. I'm not convinced by the reliability and there's the getting home part as you say. Not fully decided yet but might just leave it for Tynecastle in a month which is a shame as there are some good pubs down that way.
  24. Was hoping to head through on the train to make a bit of a day of it but the trains are off so might drive through anyway. I always find games between the teams to be pretty open and both teams currently look attack-minded so hoping for an entertaining game.
  25. Yeah, you're right, I've mis-read it. I may have been right before my edit!
