  1. It’s because Brown clearly doesn’t rate Albinson or Mutch.
  2. The new goalie we signed? Or have I had a howler with his name?
  3. If you’re appraising the current squad at this point in terms of next season then I’d go. Keep - Stanger, McGinty, Reading, Dempsey, Syla, Murphy, Chalmers, Dowds, Tomlinson, Guthrie, Bryden, McKenzie. Punt - Albinson, Mutch, McAllister, Musonda, Smith, Amartey, McGugh, Willoughby, Sanders, McGeady, Rose Undecided - Murdoch and Clarke. If all those players left then you’re probably left looking for two goalies, a right back, two centre backs, a central midfielder, two wingers/attacking midfielders, a striker and some sort of cover at left back unless one of the centre halves we sign can cover there. Thats 10 new players and tbh it’s likely to be more as Chalmers won’t hang around and it’s not a sure thing that Dowds will either.
  4. Murphy won’t be a starter next season but should still be involved. Dempsey isn’t going anywhere either. He’s been very good since Brown has come in. Everyone was poor today but we were playing a team with better players and more depth. We’re winning the more important games in Queens Park and Airdrie. If we continue to beat those teams we will be fine.
  5. Genuinely couldn’t comment. Willoughby lacks strength from what I’ve seen. McHugh tried to get involved but I wasn’t too sure why we brought him on at the expense of Syla.
  6. We could do with options to replace them when neither of them are looking likely to create something. That was Chalmers poorest game in a long time. Both teams were poor though. Had the feeling of an end of season game with nothing to play for in the second half.
  7. I think that’s the case for most teams. You lose your best two players and you’re going to plummet.
  8. It’s very hard to strengthen in January. I do think the bigger change has been Brown and Whittaker coming in and raising standards. Sometimes in terms of players it can be small tweaks here and there rather than getting an outright better player.
  9. Interesting I think it’s fair that Brown probably isn’t impressed with either goalie right now and Mutch getting injured has given him an excuse to go and get one. Big risk given his age but Doohan wasn’t much older when he came here.
  10. Clarke called him out for it didn’t he? Basically said he couldn’t handle the pressure of his dad being a Killie legend and as such shouldn’t be allowed to ref your games. I don’t think he’ll ever consciously be biased against one team or other. But I think when you’re under pressure and making a decision, it can affect your judgement. In England, referees can’t take control of games where one of the teams come from the local area. It’s harder to do that in Scotland imo but you definitely can’t be refereeing games when your dad is in the Hall of Fame at one of the teams.
  11. Pray for me as I’ll be reluctantly visiting the St Enoch centre next week.
  12. Seems a shite system although in recent years we’ve started losing teams that were more established in the leagues in favour of teams like Spartans, Bonnyrigg and Edinburgh.
  13. Does the 10th placed team still get the chance to stay up through the playoffs?
  14. We’re pretty desperate for a right back so I’d take Millen as a stop gap until the summer.
  15. I don’t think so. I think it’ll have been kept back for the summer. We haven’t actually upgraded any positions since Brown came in however the midfield does look a lot better just with what they’ve been asked to do. Big question marks over the defence remain and it’s yet to be seen if Willoughby is an upgrade on Rose.
  16. Can’t see that happening. As much as fans don’t rate him, Brown has come in and hasn’t dropped him once so he clearly likes something about him. He’s basically another midfielder out of possession which is something I don’t think Willoughby can do.
  17. I’d be giving Willougby a solid half hour run out against Raith to try and get him up to the sharpness. I really don’t know what to make of him at the minute. It’s not as if he’s missed chances for us, he’s just barely been involved but I don’t think it’s in his game to get loads of touches on the ball unless he’s taking a shot.
  18. He's a decent manager at this level. Would probably put him in a similar bracket to McCall in that respect. He’ll take you close in the Championship and build a decent side but doesn’t have the know how to take that next step.
  19. Aye it’ll be shite from that POV but it should make the league tighter next season. You’d imagine Thistle and Raith will start the season at favourites but you’d also expect Falkirk will get a bounce after promotion and having a decent manager. If Dunfermline made a change on that front then they would probably be up there as well.
  20. We aren’t safe yet but I think Arbroath are all but gone. Whoever finishes 9th I would expect will beat whoever the play in the playoffs. Think it’ll be one of Dunfermline, Caley or Airdrie in that position.
  21. I think we’ll end up like Morton when they appointed Imrie in that we’ve become pretty competent and that will see us safe with a few games to spare but we’ll also be too far off the playoffs to challenge for them. If we can get to that point I’ll be relatively happy provided we get a head start on next season and can give more game time to the younger players.
  22. Best player at the club by some distance for me. Think he went off the boil for a few weeks but at 34(?) I think that’s always going to happen. Reckon he might be used more sparingly next season as we’ll look to add more pace in those areas but he should still have a role to play.
