I have to ask - why does it matter? Is it some kind of OCD thing? Don't the volume numbers show on the screen? Can you ears distinguish odd and even volume - mine can't? Should they be able to? I know it's the PTTGOYN thread but I'm intrigued.

For larger employees this will be the case, but how about smaller ones? They may not be able to downsize their offices much so points 1 and 2 will be negligible. As for the 3rd point, there may be those who don't want to/cannot WFH. It's a leap of faith to some extent and won't work for all employers/employees.

The article I read elsewhere did raise this in some detail, with the dog owner saying there were other ways the issue could have been resolved other than by shooting the dog.

Ach, if you can't beat them (you can't) then join them, Life's too short to worry too much about such trivialities.

My son's school have a ceremony every year, takes a good few hours to cover all the school. This year, my son got his certificate and a "special award" for good attendance - we've been doing home schooling for a year now FFS. And he's fallen asleep in the lessons a good few times that I'm aware of! Load of pish. (I've still framed all the certificates and put them up in the bedroom like any proud parent would though)

They're world famous don't you know? Nothing less than the best golf course in the world would befit them.

I suppose it's great for those who need a kick-start and who don't have enough self-motivation but I can't see why folk would need to stay in it for a long period, once they've mastered the "system" then surely they could fly solo?
