Wednesday 7, Thursday 6. At least I think so. I'm not sure of anything Aussie Quiz related any more.

Yep. Sales tax in Louisiana is 9.98% compared with hee-haw in New Hampshire, so a $99.80 difference in the overall price you'd pay for the iPhone X.

The whole start to this week has confused the f**k out of me, tbh.

Never been a better time to buy some shares in the Coastguard. Their profits are going to go through the fucking roof after that.

A slight and disappointing improvement in a quiz where less than 24 hours previously I had read all the answers. Still got the play wrong. Still got the Belinda Clark award wrong, because I thought I'd got it right yesterday. 8/10.

It I enjoyed it quite a lot but not for any of the reasons I was expecting. An excellent coming-of-age adventure film. A fair to middling horror film. Kid actors are fantastic. Bill Skarsgard is pretty good too, although I found his voice a wee bit too Scooby Doo. Great fun. 8/10

Except it wasn't a study, it was a working paper and it wasn't peer-reviewed. Semantics, perhaps, but when people like the NY Times describe it as a Harvard study, it affords it a heft and a credibility it hasn't really earned. That aside, Fryer based his findings on data from 10 different police departments from three states, all in the south, and mostly large cities which is going to skew the numbers somewhat. It's probably also worth pointing out that "the same circumstance" you mention is really "after being stopped by the police." So even if white people are more likely to be shot after being stopped by the police than black people, it kinda ignores the fact that black people are far more likely to be stopped by the police in the first place. You might be able to kick a cat five feet and I might be able to kick it two feet, but if you only do it once and I do it non stop for an hour, which one of us is the biggest c**t?

9/10 to end the week. Got the song wrong. Got lucky with the NRL, Seinfeld, and MotoGP.

In my experience it's mostly a big deal at sporting events and Denny's on Veteran's Day. And some used car lots, usually the ones with ridiculously big flags flying outside them, will advertise occasional special deals for ex or serving military in an attempt to look even more patriotic.

Quite surprised about the support for Japan, tbh.

Yep. His argument seemed to be, it can't be too expensive to see Scotland at Hampden because there are different things that are even more expensive.

Started watching from the beginning again. You forget just how incredible season one really is. Ned loses 'is 'ead in episode nine ... not even a season finale! Excellent stuff.

Ooft. That took an unpredictable turn.

7/10. First five right and then the flag and the sportsman. No correct guesses.

I hated this, too. Not helped by the fact that I have a real problem tuning into that accent. And there's NO WAY IN THE WORLD that wee lassie was a product of Channing Tatum + Kate Holmes. Looked so much better in the trailers.

Totally agree. And I think that's why his arc came to a satisfying conclusion -- beaten at his own game.
