An FCO ban on oversea travel unless it’s for an essential reason is almost definitely on the cards.

    Would think this is likely.

The returning quarantine restrictions are an absolute joke. You know you are taking a risk if you go abroad but to implement quarantine within 48 hrs does not give people a chance to get back. Given that some of our infection figures are higher than on the continent why are they allowing people to fly and why are these countries allowing people in.  Very limited checks are being done on those supposed to quarantine. Time to say if you are returning from a country that requires you to quarantine then you will be taken to a hotel until tested clear and have to meet the costs  yourself. Might be harsh but would stop the crap that is going on at the moment.

Police also need to impose fines as the first resort and not the last. As soon as word goes round that you will be fined then some of these gatherings etc will stop. At the moment you are given a warning and no one is giving a toss about it.

    It's an absurd assumption

Far more likely she took her own life

The impact of governmental decisions around asylum seekers leading to this of course requires, well, examining, don't know the words

Why would you not let someone who wants to work, work

That's what we need, hard working people who are going to contribute to society

Seriously would not like to think she took her own life with total disregard for her baby.  Surely if she was contemplating that she would have left the baby with the father.

  3. Looking forward to the live streaming.

Will we be having multiple camera angles, Francesc Fabregas in the Observation Galley giving pre match, half time and full time analysis with maybe a few chosen fans and ex players adding their tuppence-worth. Could be in the running for a Bafta.

On a more serious note surely the season ticket holders could be socially distanced in the stand if we and other small clubs could get permission from the authorities. Clubs would have a record of the season ticket holder attending on their records for tracing purposes should there be a case of covid.

What an absolute shambles. We have kids who had their teacher predicted grades downgraded by senior management to fit in with our normal exam results. Now it turns out if we had stuck with the original grades they would have gone through. Punished by following their method which is now binned.

He has been a dreadful education minister but Swinney can't survive this surely.

You couldn't burn his neck with a blowtorch.

It will be interesting to see if she comes out all guns blazing tomorrow...

Perhaps they should have been tougher with enforcement at the start. Had the police been fining people for gathering, not keeping distance, not wearing masks.etc instead of silly warnings the word would have spread and I think we would have had less issues.  France introducing progressive fines for those not wearing masks in the street.

Councils should have officials visiting bars, restaurants, etc on a daily basis and where conditions are not being met then the premises should be closed down immediately.  The world would quickly go round and proprietors would ensure they happened to protect their business.

For people returning to the country from abroad - there should have been mandatory quarantine in a hotel initially paid for by the government but after a few weeks it would be up to the individual to pay after they had been warned of the consequences of traveling abroad. Australia are currently quarantining people who travel to a different state and it is at the individuals expense.

Much of this should have been clamped down at the start but the FM is reluctant to enforce law and we are now seeing the results.

  6. Hawkwind - Dr Feelgood - 13/12/1974

Could not believe what I was seeing with Dr Feelgood.   Wilco Johnson running about like a maniac robot, Lee Brilleux shagging the drum kit and stripped back music.

Then Hawkwind came on - heavy smell of dope and incense, the light show, Stacia and the music - absolutely incredible and an experience that changed me forever.

  7. With Universities and HEI's opening soon has the First Minister considered what impact approx 50,000 students will have on the virus? There will be accommodations etc to be considered.

What tests. quarantines etc will be put in place for these students arriving in Scotland or will be just winging it?

  8. Over the years have had to visit a few homes during the course of my work and they vary greatly. Some are absolutely brilliant but others you would not put your worst enemy into. You would have to research carefully before putting a relative in a home.

The other side of the coin is I have seen people who are fit and well with a lot of life to look forward to becoming carers for a family member and within a couple of years they are mentally and physically destroyed by what they thought was the right thing to do.  It maybe was but at the expense of their quality of life.  It is a hard one to call and hopefully one I will not have to make.  I have utter admiration for people who take on the care of a relative.

It is laughable when they claim they do 'everything possible' to eradicate this stuff, when it's clear they don't. They just want to push their image without crossing certain lines.

The club had already been forced to close off sections of Ibrox for the second leg of the crucial tie after being hammered by the governing body for bigoted singing in the Europa League qualifying win over St Joseph's back in July.

Rangers have been ordered by UEFA to close a section of their Ibrox Stadium for Thursday’s Europa League meeting with Legia Warsaw due to racist behaviour which includes “sectarian singing” by their supporters.

RANGERS could face having Ibrox closed for their next Europa League match against Young Boys if Uefa take action following reports of sectarian singing against Feyenoord.

As has already been said it is a minority doing this and the club has taken all steps to eradicate it.  Aye right, my arse.

The orange shirts were introduced years ago to celebrate the Dutch in the team.  AJF - had the Dutch national team worn green would the Rangers have worn green shirts to celebrate the Dutch or was this just another golden opportunity to promote their sectarian ways?

Amar went through on the basis of being less shite than the other two, which considering he’s blind is some achievement.

I like the man and admire what he is doing but I cannot help thinking:

a - is he a one trick pony only able to cook Asian food

b- are the BBC trying to tick another box here.

Agree with this although to be fair he did miss most of the season. Always felt he didn't have the composure on the ball you might expect of someone training with a FT club. Certainly don't see him stepping up to the premier league in the near future. Thought the guy from Dundee was a much better prospect (I can't remember his name - it has been a while).

Callum Moore was the Dundee boy and he did look a better prospect.

Robbie Duncan, who he preferred ahead of him, meanwhile... any ideas?

Scott Booth was a terrible manager. What a laugh that all was.

Robbie Duncan last heard of at BSC Glasgow how Booth thought he was better than Devlin is anyone's guess and he certainly did not look if he lacked confidence.

Booth was a disaster although on paper at the start it looked an interesting appointment. It certainly was not funny and was glad to see him go.

  13. Salim Kouider-Alissa did not do much when he was with us but looked a far improved player with Queens Park last year. If anything I think he may have been carrying a bit weight or maybe he has just filled out as he was no push over when on the ball.   Certainly looked like one of the better strikers in the league last year.  Just goes to show how difficult it must be for management to judge a young player and the decision on whether to keep them or punt them.  Good luck to the lad getting back to a top level in Scotland after dropping down the levels.  Not often you see that happening.

Film makers do that all the time.  In the film Local Hero the characters drive along the B862 from Inverness to Fort Augustus in order to Pennan in Aberdeenshire.

In Loch Ness, you take a bus more than halfway to Gairloch to get from Inverness to Loch Ness itself.

Eurovision - The Story of Fire Saga has the Hydro in Edinburgh.

  15. Have started to become fascinated by this.

The amount of skill that the various artisans have is incredible and the delight that the owners get seeing their cherished possessions restored is uplifting.
