  1. Shopping in Aldi since it's become popular. I used to breeze in, get what I needed, head straight to the one till that was open and back to the car in under 10 minutes. It's now full of all the fuckers that would rather have died of starvation than think of shopping there years ago. It has now made me into one of those wankers that's been staring at their phone while the assistant has scanned half of my shopping. Moulded me into the fuckwit that mumbles "Sorry" then frantically packs all the stuff into the trolley. Recklessly putting eggs, bread and milk at the bottom, covering them in bottles and cans. Yes I could have refrained from staring at my phone for 5 mins but that's not the point. I didn't have the need when it wasn't popular. Quality and fair priced product chasing wankers.
  2. I would imagine so, especially in a tin.
  3. Right, who was it? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-45273485?__twitter_impression=true
  4. Is this what the rest of Scotland hears in their head when a stereotypical Weedgie is talking?
  5. I dunno, can the human body go above 6 Bar?
  6. Aye, all in my head, nothing biological and zero facts here.
  7. Why does wine, for example, improve the taste of certain meals? Having a good bit of steak washed down with a good red wine gets the taste buds firing for me. Absolutely nothing to do with the effect of alcohol. If I'm honest the only time I can drink red wine is with a meal, horrible otherwise. Despite the fact the alcohol is burned off in cooking, using alcoholic drinks in the preparation improves the taste of certain meals.
  8. Saw loads of Germans ask for this in Cyprus about 20 years ago. Similarly boufin, a mate from school used to drink half his bottle of Buckie, then top it up with milk. Tasted like chocolate milkshake according to him.
  9. Going be previous replies..... Only Fools is the pinnacle of comedy. The bar and chandelier sketch. Trigger's brand new broom, despite having had 17 new heads and 14 new handles. Rodney dressed as A Gladiator. Damien. BIC. During the war....
  10. No problem. Base gravy. http://www.greatcurryrecipes.net/2013/12/31/make-indian-restaurant-style-curry-sauce-large-batch/ Looks alot but shove it in some plastic carry out dishes and freeze it. I divided mine into about six batches about 400ml each. I'd also calm down on the ghee, maybe use three or even two tablespoons. I like it myself but it's quite a strong taste. Jalfrezi that I was making. http://www.greatcurryrecipes.net/2011/09/27/restaurant-style-curries-how-to-make-chicken-jalfrezi/
  11. According to the recipe the garlic is added after cooking the onions, chillies and pepper. The base or gravy is already made and is added at the end once everything is cooked. Just curious as to what difference there is (apart from the obvious) between garlic paste and finely chopped garlic. ETA: Just noticed there are comments way down at the bottom of the page, someone asked the same question. The chef replied saying it makes a big difference to the texture and taste.
  12. Making a curry tonight using a base gravy I made and froze last week. The recipe I'm following (and others I've seen) has 1 tbsp of garlic paste and also 5 cloves of finely chopped garlic. Why not just use 8 cloves of garlic. (Assuming 1 clove of garlic is equivalent to 1 tsp, 3 tsp in a tbsp) Apart from the seeing off vampires and the whole female population, does anyone know why both would be included?
  13. Quite a range there. I was just wondering why you think Only Fools is/was poor.
  14. Were you in Sweden 5 years ago? https://www.thelocal.se/20130623/48642
  15. Loved the guy holding the car seat up in protest. It was like a scene from That Peter Kay Thing.
  16. Nah, he'll sign for the neighbours tomorrow.
  17. It was also the one that could be chipped. Power cycling it gave you £20 credit again.
