  1. Not bad, I'd struggle to tell the difference to be honest - unless they were side by side with Tennent's.
  2. Did the Wellpark tour last night for my future son in law's stag. I asked about Hendry's and Belheather (The Aldi and Lidl equivalent) and if Tennent's brewed them. The answer was yes but to a slightly different recipe.
  3. I'll go one better, my brother sent me a text with "lolz" (complete with quotation marks) last night. Still haven't replied.
  4. I'm sure I got some in the Toryglen Asda. Similar to Red Kola I would say.
  5. No one has said that, the poster quoted what he was answering to. I think smacking has a time and place. Obviously smacking a kid with autism is wrong and you can add to that numerous other situations. No one has said, kid does something bad = A good scud. To answer your previous question about smacking outside, maybe perhaps, some parents don't want to cause embarrassment to the child and themselves. I've never raised my voice at my son in a busy supermarket for example for that reason. I have taken him to a quiet bit or outside but never in a busy place. Back in the house - Totally different, you don't have to. If folk want to shout at their kids, while others look on, fine it's their choice. It's not mine.
  6. Both as one apparently... to all except the folk posting from jail cells/torture dungeons.
  7. Glad you said that, I'm usually called a cousin if I express views as such.
  8. Take it back, it should be the same as before it was broken. Exact same thing happened to my son's phone, the guy gave me all the usual bullshit over the phone about how it may be slightly different. Once he tried it, "Oh" was his reply.
  9. Yes, coupled with 6mm drill bits for rawlplugs. I hope she comes back every year.
  10. Same for me, step daughter is back on Thursday for her forthcoming wedding. Apparently every room has to be gutted and painted for her arrival. Wouldn't be surprised if there a red carpet in a Yodel van with our address on it. Add to that "It's only a game"
  11. I had two contactless cards in my wallet at the same time and just used the wallet to tap on the reader. Just wondering why it worked in the local shop and not in Aldi. Also which card was actually picked up by the local shop.
  12. I normally just tap my wallet on the card reader. Went to the local shop for stuff and later Aldi. My usual wallet tap worked fine in the local shop but wouldn't work at all in Aldi. I forgot I still had my wife's credit card in my wallet. I'm sure I read that if the machine detects two or more contactless payments it won't work. Which one was used for the local shop ?
  13. I often try and bribe my son with a KFC to go to Broomfield. A double whammy of child abuse from me.
  14. You'd better watch, you'll be accused of cannibalism next.
  15. I'm sorry but in my experience that is bollocks. My mum smacked/tapped/slapped (call it what you will) my arse a couple of times. If ever I was in a situation when I could get in trouble, I would remember that and think - No chance. There was a couple of occasions when she held up her hand as if to smack/tap/slap (call it what you wish) and that was enough. There was no leathering, beating or prolonged use. My dad used to poke me in the chest on every syllable when telling me off. To be totally honest that was the one that I definitely didn't want. Has it scarred me for life ? No In my opinion were they correct in the way they chastised me ? Absolutely. As I've said I honestly haven't had the need to smack. I have no idea how, but my son (who is 10) is bordering on perfect when it comes to respect and knowing right from wrong. Does that mean that not smacking my kid and only using verbal warnings means that I've been the perfect dad or I have been extremely lucky ? I'd personally go for the latter. To tar all people who smack their kids as some kind of unhinged maniac that takes pleasure in beating their child senseless is way out of order.
  16. I was smacked as a kid, never had the need to smack mine, dangerously close this morning though.
