If the burden of giving train drivers a well below inflation wage rise falls on the poorest of society, then that will have been the result of a conscious, and unnecessary, decision by the government. Making out that train drivers will be responsible if council schemes don’t get their bins emptied is quite the leap.

If you do that there’s barely any incentive to get a season ticket though, the saving isn’t all that much as it is compared to paying at the gate.

You’re not really wrong, but why does this only cause such anger when it comes to the Premiership play-offs? It’s been the case in the lower leagues for about 15 years that 4th gets a crack at the play-off and no one really gets that worked up by it. But all of sudden when it comes to the Prem play-off it’s a huge injustice.

Always love it when the “interviewed very well” line gets trotted out about a manager. Hopkin did as well with us apparently. Baffles me that so many boards value making a good power point presentation over actually looking at a manager’s past performance.
