  1. Morrison doing what he should have done in the first half. Need to still change the 2 in the middle and miller I think. Get on the front foot now.
  2. Tait and mcginn non existent in the middle of the park. Guy on the edge of the box with a week to line that up. All we deserve at this point to be fair.
  3. Poor finishing from Falkirk so far, should be out of sight already but really risking it. Need to see an improvement from the front 3.
  4. Very soft in the middle of the park with mcginn and Tait, so hopefully queens as defensive as expected. Happy to see Oliver staring at he's a good finisher and could get a goal even against a deep defence. Don't mind Mackie starting too much as he's been ok, hopefully no diving in this week though as queens will look to set pieces to upset us.
  5. I would pay nesbitt in the deeper role in midfield today and start Oliver in the 10. Nesbitts work rate will mean it's harder for teams to get through us and Oliver's ability in front of goal will help. Today I don't think it will matter defensively as I don't think Queens will attack much but Oliver is better at getting shots away and is a better finisher than most of the rest of the squad so could help to break the deadlock.
  6. Just watched McGlynns pre match interview for tomorrow. Looking likely Lang could end up missing most or the rest of the season at this rate. Hopefully it's not as bad as all that as it would be a shame for him to miss out on the end of the season when he's been so good and so pivotal to our success this year. Also makes going unbeaten a bit less likely for me as Hendo has been missed in the middle of the park in the last couple of games.
  7. Here's something that can go up in the QOS dressing room. Marvin, you're shite at your job and your team play some of the worst football I've ever seen. If any of the players don't want a relegation on their career record they should let Falkirk pump them 6 nil, allowing the board to use the just received NBP to sack him and replace him with someone good.
  8. In defence of Ross as well, he's had a reasonable number of extra minutes lately and would have a couple of other assists to his name if we had been more clinical. Wouldn't mind keeping him but it would need to be on a wage that reflects the back up status in the squad.
  9. To be fair I don't really know anything about the rules. I just remember us getting a fortune for Mark Stewart. If we only get something like 50k that's obviously shit.
  10. To be honest I wouldn't mind Finn staying but if he's away we should be due a development fee of a few hundred thousand you would think which could be enough to make sure the club is confident in it's finances in our first season up and allow us to recruit fairly freely. Wouldn't be the end of the world and I'm sure we would be able to pick up a stable championship level right back to fill the slot.
  11. This is a game we should win comfortably, more than likely it will be a slog as barley tries to keep every one of your players in your own box for 90 minutes though. Won't be a TV classic. If I was McGlynn my tactic for this one would be for Col Donaldson and Callum Morrison to take turns hitting 30 yard screamers until one goes in, they'll have all the time in the world to line them up.
  12. As others have said in a normal season you guys wouldn't be far away at this point, Dunfermline last year won't have had much more points than you do now, not that it's much consolation when we are playing the way we are. You probably need to trim your squad and manage your spending for next year though, as we probably outspent the whole division combined in our first 3 years down here and were still fucking shit. The owners put his hand in his pocket obviously but as we've seen at Falkirk it's more about getting the right people running the club and on the park than just spunking cash on massive overpaid squads. At first I didn't realise Rankin had managed you all of last season, thought he'd been brought in to try and keep you up or something but it's a shock he kept his job after that. If you don't go up this year he'll surely be away, is his contract up in the summer?
  13. Can't think of a game this season where a team has created more chances than us. Can think of a couple where teams didn't even have a shot on target though. I think it's good that we've had rotation and some of our poorer performances in front of goal over the last 3 weeks and still won all but 1 game, shows how strong the team is. It's clear that there is going to be a massive negative overreaction from a section of the fanbase when we do eventually lose a game. Frightening how quick some football fans can become entitled and think that no team should even be able to give us a difficult game.
  14. Some good chances today and a good few saves from their keeper. Long seemed to do well from those highlights making a few decent saves as well. Not sure what Tait is thinking before the first goal, dropping deep and playing about 3 guys onside for no reason but a great result in the end.
  15. I'm not sure there is a scenario with 20 men packed into one box that can be gentle.
  16. Will be interesting to see what happens with the apprentices. If they weren't ready for league 1 this season I can't see them being ready for the championship next. I expect they will all go out on loan again, maybe to league 1 clubs this time to see how they get on.
  17. Aye, they could even do that through FSS advertisement with the season tickets. Send out an old school season ticket pack like they used to with all the sponsor company details in it and any discounts they offered and try to encourage us all to buy a new kitchen from your man at Haldane.
  18. I think the club will try and push the same price angle as much as they can next season. Keep the feel good factor going and know you'll make up the difference in pie and merch sales if you can convert people to every week attendance.
  19. He genuinely signed a collection of players that must have been the worst full time football squad in all of time and space.
  20. Our first choice outfield team bar yeats are all singed up for next season so any surprise departures will be accompanied by a wedge of cash but I can't see many changes. It will be harder next year in the championship but I think we perform better when teams actually try to get into the game and none of the championship teams we've played this season in the cup have been better than us and that includes Dundee utd who are currently top. I don't expect us to romp to the title obviously but we are good enough as is to do well and with a few additions should be aiming for the playoffs as a minimum against a league full of inconsistent teams.
  21. Based on what I saw earlier in the season I wouldn't worry about Ayr or Queens park if I was you. We beat both of them without breaking a sweat after making 5 changes to our normal starting 11, they are both shite.
  22. In terms of a plan b, I don't think we need some massive change in system or anything more just awareness on the park. Using the Annan game for example we put in about 1 million crosses, they were eaten up by their CBS, GK and that big lad Goss. The wingers should have adjusted to getting into the box or down to the byeline and hitting it across low or cutting it back for someone attacking the box from deep (which there never was). We were consistently just attacking in one line, which pushed their defense line back to cover the crosses but there was never anyone up pick up a second ball further away from the goal.
  23. Aye that looked a bad tackle in the highlights. In a higher league that's a sending off, not helped by the fact that the covering defender is out wide. If burrell goes round him to his right he's through 1v1 so he's last man as well. Mackie lucky to stay on the park there imo.
  24. He's maybe been forced into that given the circumstances but his rashness is my only reservation around him really. We haven't seen him much since he signed, but he's got a tendency to dive in, something which is noticeable in this team as we normally are quite controlled out of possession. As others have said I wouldn't necessarily mind him staying next year, but he's guaranteed to be second fiddle and he is good enough to start so will probably be off for the sake of his career.
