  1. Nerves, frustration in the team and stadium. The fact that every game is must win is getting to them. They are where we were in the past. The improved atmosphere in the team and in the stands has made a huge difference to us this season. Cheering and singing instead of bawling and shouting, so much better for the fans and players. https://twitter.com/theacciesfc/status/1751300761164697788?t=VH2hgXXz3EsbxzNV17KtpQ&s=19
  2. Lads, listen to this after Montrose equalise. Fucking amazing. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=UUQ2goaKtXB27sYs02ubLdxA&si=Jhj60YukDxWGdzFd
  3. An excellent result and performance that puts to bed any chat about wobbles. Hamilton shitting the bed again the icing on the cake. Have to give a bit of credit to long today as well, came out his goal much more effectively in the first half when required and has obviously been practicing all week. Alloa huffed and puffed and competed better first half but obviously aren't really any better.
  4. Tonight alloa were much more competitive in the first half than they had been in any of the games previously this season but the quality shone through in the end and truthfully over the 90 long had very little to do.
  5. https://twitter.com/RaithRovers/status/1750933793756545146?t=MxxJFBHTH9kpD-y9XVJGLw&s=19 Some singing announcement for rudden.
  6. Thought that was an Alfie contract extension there from the thumbnail.
  7. Allan out is a good transfer that suits all parties I think. Would be good to see some others come in as people mentioned. A couple of out of the blue announcements like Tait would be fun.
  8. I wouldn't object to him staying in a more coaching role but doubt we have the budget for it come the end of the season so if he's got an opportunity to move then given he will be on a high players salary that money could be used for a GK and maybe some other cover.
  9. Think that's a good signing really, cover for the middle that could potentially see mcginn leaving for a coaching role. As much as the Hamilton fans are slating him now, he's played 25 times in central midfield this season for a team that's barely lost a game in the league and is a cut above every team bar us, so he obviously isn't as bad as all that. In terms of the attitude he may have an issue but he's played with several of our players before and McGlynn has previously managed him so can't see that being an issue. He's no doubt been told he's not going to walk straight into the starting 11 so will have made his peace with that before signing.
  10. That's fair, he definitely isn't as comfortable on the ball as long but as you've pointed out Donaldson is pretty comfortable so not a massive issue. He's also been nervous but I think he does the fundamentals a bit better than long. Given that I expect alloa to load the box and fire it in high at every opportunity following our last 2 games I think hogarth will handle that better.
  11. When it comes to goalkeepers I expected to see hogarth start yesterday because he's bigger and he dominates the box a bit better. He's had some ropey moments but if you look at longs recent games, minus the 2 he didn't have to make a save in, he's either been responsible for or posted missing at 6 goals. 2 against Dundee utd, 2 against Edinburgh and 2 against bonnyrigg. Granted from that others have said he maybe couldn't have done much about the second yesterday but he should have done better at the other 5.
  12. Disappointing result and a shame that's the end of a phenomenal run. Normally love the cup but this year I'm only interested in the league, we had to lose at some point so this is better than in the league. Major concern is conceding 4 goals to set prices in the last 2 games so that needs to be addressed. Alloa next week will be a tough game on a tight pitch so want to see the guys fired up to get back winning again. Think it's important for the fans to stay positive, particularly at the next home game, a lot of complaining on negativity from the stands and we will be back to where we've been in the past which this team doesn't deserve, up to us to hold our nerve just like the players now.
  13. After watching the highlights that's not as bad a result as it first seemed. Genuinely think that can go down as one of those days, their keeper has made some great saves, their defenders have cleared a couple of the line and we've hit the bar twice. Plenty of chances in the first half as well, not just all in the second. Edinburgh moaning about the penalty but you can see the guy pulling Donaldsons shirt and I think it's just naive defending, even if it is a bit soft you should be criticising the defender, not the attacker or the ref. I do agree with other posters that mcginn is done though, didn't see much of him in the highlights but it was obvious last season and when he's got minutes this season recently he weakens us in the middle, slow passing, giving away fouls and teams can play around him really easily. Calvin miller with a great high pressure penalty on 96 minutes. Easily one of our best players this season.
  14. We are always going to get games like that this season when we are dominating so many games then the opposition scores with their only 1/2 efforts on target. The frustration is the unnecessary change of formation and personnel, an experiment that should have been left for next week. We continue unbeaten though, and although it's disappointing to give Hamilton a bit of hope so early after going so many points clear I expect us to have a bit of fire in the next couple of games to keep us going in the right direction.
  15. I genuinely didn't think McGlynn would have done that today, given Edinburghs clear improvement last week against alloa and the importance of keeping the pressure firmly on Hamilton. That's the experiment over, no more non injury deviations from the starting 11 who are winning well every week.
  16. I think we will see rotation of any players carrying a knock but won't see a full change as McGlynn is a bit too pragmatic to risk our position just to give guys a game.
  17. Get what you're saying but I think there are 2 ways of looking at it. 2-3 signings to strengthen our starting 11 and maybe another 3-4 to strengthen the squad depending on who comes and goes. Realistically if we do get promoted, I don't think we will lose many of the out of contact lads unless we want to. While guys like Donaldson, yeats and hendo would get offers, I'm not sure they would get better offers than us in terms of wages and continuity of staying in that squad and enjoying going to your work with your mates every day after a great season. The core of our 11 is all still in contract for next season as it stands with Lang, mccann, Spencer, nesbitt, miller and McIver. So including the 3 above that's 9, not including a goalie and Morrison.
  18. I know Hamilton fans will be frustrated and if our positions were reversed I would feel exactly the same way about any prospect of winning the league. I think if you can keep the squad together for the playoffs or next season then you've a good chance at promotion in either. It's worth noting you're a much better team in your first year in this division than we were in any of our first 4 but we are just outstanding this year. Our cup games have shown we would be challenging in the division above as it stands.
  19. That's exactly the kind of lazy shite I'd expect from him after his time with us. Only took about 3 games this season at home for other managers to notice the change and comment that it was obvious the fans weren't going to turn negative. For him to try a failed tactic, months later shows him for the fanny he is.
  20. Good video of the first goal tonight.
  21. It would be a blow to lose McIver for sure but I thought shanly did well when he came on. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start against Edinburgh and maybe even bonnyrigg if McIver needs a rest now is the time to do it and not risk him.
  22. A great performance and result. I especially enjoyed singing about Hartley being a wee greaseball b*****d, well done to the ultras as well.
  23. Pleased to win this as well as I thought we would. Completely cut off service to burrell and controlled the game. Any time he did get the ball he was bodied by either Lang or Donaldson and got nowhere, topped off with some very good finishing. That's us beat every team in the league now and 2 games in a row where our goalkeeper could have been one of the attendees of Kevin McAlisters Christmas party.
  24. As long as the players keep that professional attitude that's what matters and we can all go wild. I think if we win tomorrow we will have opened up a huge gap, Hamilton and their fans will know every game is a must win if we go 11 clear. If they then dropped points to cove at home on Saturday I think it would be over and I think they would know it.
  25. I'm feeling optimistic about this game, cove obviously dangerous going forward but the phenomenal form they were in when this game was meant to be played has tailed off with 2 draws and a defeat in their last 4, their only win coming against Edinburgh. It might be a case of who can score more but as long as we don't gift burrell 1-1s on the break I think we can win well.
