  1. Question for you fine old QP fans I think I know the answer.. Young Cammy Bruce a young talented left wing back, after having the lad from an early age are you aware of him ever playing RB or RWB, our manager totally hung the lad out to dry on national TV last night...
  2. That's my point exactly, we got to the promotion playoffs (4th). My point is has Rhys (not a criticism) taken us as far as he can, these will be the questions going through his head, and I think as a club our ceiling is probably Top 4 championship, so my point is when does a talented manager move on, what I am basically saying is if Raith come calling this week, Rhys is gone...
  3. We ridiculed Mick Kennedy of EK for having the audacity to come to Airdrie and play his idealistic football philosophy and got handed his arse big time, a few short weeks later our fearless Manager who apparently doesn't fancy going up against Oakley gets handed his arse on national TV playing exactly the same way.... For us to continually play suicidal balls around our own box against a marauding Ayr midfield was unforgivable, the performance of many was cowardly. Namely Aiken and McMaster, 2 centre mids that watched that game totally pass them by,, Mochrie was poor, McGrattan didn't get the ball but at least he played his position and Ben up top who was as poor as the rest also.... Don't know why a lot are comparing this defeat to Arbroath, this was 10 times worse than that, has Rhys taken us as far as he can.....
  4. To be fair the last thing to get battered that badly was found in Michael Barrymore's swimming pool.
  5. Putting rivalry aside, I though Ayr were outstanding all over the park, young Henderson to me the pick of the bunch , alright we were abysmal throughout, 5 nil flattered us if that was 10 we honestly couldn't have moaned...
  6. Right Airdrie that was shameful from start to finish, so many questions, but, the main ones on Facebook etc are Mochrie and McGrattan are a disgrace, open your eyes FFS, let's try and get to the bottom of this clusterf**k, Let's go back to team selection, Rhys who was outstanding last week, doesn't play, is he scared of big bad George Oakley, From the first minute, we were getting rode down the RHS with McDonald the right back know where near his opponent, this continued the whole game, he is out his depth, and I have been saying it for weeks, I got into a heated discussion on the shed regarding the lad, and I got the he gives a 100 percent all the time, but 100 percent of nothing is nothing..... Let's be fair the rest of the defence and midfield were hopeless, McMaster as ever, was poor and passed into trouble constantly, a player who excels when we are on top, but hopelessly hides and passes the buck when things go against him.. This is the lad we think we will get money for ???, not just deano Aiken was equally bad if not worse and just looks like a lost boy, We made changes at Half time Watson was binned, ok Rhys on you come son, no MacDonald you go onto centre half, and I will bring a young back up left back on at right wing back in Cammy Bruce, a promising lad who was completely hung out to dry by his manager... F.rizzell and Terrell were 'injured' apparently, both when brought on at Half time played and fought well, could they have started Rhys.... Or is there something else going on here, is this a sliding doors moment for Rhys , it is obvious we are short at RB, CB and up front, Rhys stated at the 1924 event he wanted a squad of 24 to compete for the title, Rhys is a clever guy, no doubt he will be knocking on PH door saying thats what we need, if i was PH i would be asking why when you have a squad of 22.... Could it be that if he doesn't get what he wants to improve the squad, then the club might not be matching his ambitions ..... I have got no doubt Raith Rovers will have an interest in McCabe, surely he hasn't scuttled his own ship for his own gain, we will find out soon enough, It's a funny old game....
  7. When Murray was bagged, I think most people thought this was thought out and a new man had been sounded out, that was the mood music going round, seems that was a lot of pish and now it looks like likely candidates are currently in a job, Let's be honest here if Raith Rovers were doing their due diligence on candidates let's not kid ourselves Rhys McCabe would be high on the list... Question has Rhys taken Airdrie as far as he can... Realistically
  8. Uh oh, Airdrie playing tonight, So I would imagine Rhys would take in a game tomorrow......
  9. Yes, as it stand at this present day Rhys McCabe doesn't have the relevant coaching badges to manage in the Premier league .. Personally I would be a lot more concerned of him becoming Raith Rovers new manager..
  10. Where does the chuffer go to, Ayr or Newton on Ayr, or what's best for stadium, (sic)
  11. Agree, let's cross that bridge when we come to it, Rhys has no coaching badges and cannot manage at a level above Championship until he sits and passes 2 courses, this is fact, Premier League clubs will not come near him at this time, we may quote Naismith and McAvoy at Hearts, Yes , Naismith wasn't fully qualified at that time for a managers job and McAvoy had his badges, Managers have to be fully qualified, it was an embarrassing time for Hearts that debacle , saying clubs will take a chance anyway is wrong, since the Hearts situation it has been made clear to all clubs the requirements of involved.. Let's enjoy Rhys and see where he takes us, ..
  12. I remember at the time it was PH that was pushing for Murray to get the job, the other one that had gathered support and was close to being appointed was James Duffy esq.. Let that sink in,,
  13. Us oldies eh.. How can a pie van be evicted from the ground, daft question I know
  14. Was Rhys teammates with Barrowman and Potter at Dunfermline.,..
  15. Thanks , nice to talk about football on a football site, this will never take,
  16. Brian Rice how is he for somebody out of left field, sounds the ideal setup for chipper..
  17. Was this.not mentioned as a potential conflict of interests when Potter was appointed in that role, it always seemed a way to shoehorn Potter in if Murray screwed up, Airdrie had the same issue when DOF at the time Iain King (w**k) brought in his mate EWB to oversee and help Gary Bollan who was doing a reasonable job keeping Airdrie in League 1 at that time (it was a struggle). Bollan was always a dead man walking after this and with King and EWB stating not playing football the right way and all that pish, Bollan was canned and surprise surprise EWB was appointed Airdrie manager who was a total disaster., A few similarities here...
  18. If MacCabe goes to Raith what's the odds on Murray making a return, must be high, him and PH are close...
  19. Was hoping Airdrie might be in the North terrace next to the seggy like the good old days, I have a pocketful of coppers I was hoping to get of Last season we had the stand, the paddock in front and railway end, there was a pie van, has this changed...
  20. The advantage of keeping them on the payroll albeit freezing them out the game for the period of his contract, If Ian Murray goes for another job and gets it he has to technically resign from Raith his employers therefore breaking the contract, this is actually a very common way of working... When we had Kenny Black (flashback not good) he had a watertight 2 year contract which ensured he had to get every penny owed to him, forcing us to go on a journey of 'managed decline' which took us years to recover from.
  21. I know just that keeping them on the payroll saves a big pay off, For all Murrays faults he will find no trouble getting a gig.. whenever and wherever that may be
