  1. What a difference a year makes! Broxburn all out of sorts in 22-23, but back to being a top side this season. After Whitburn's Cup final win, last week, Broxburn were on a hiding to nothing this week. Although it came to penalties, Broxburn's season continues to be impressive
  2. I am not Ryan so cannot answer why they are not on here. Not everyone uses P&B either and going by the East of Scotland site, less and less are posting comments. Around this time last year, the EoS forum caught up and overtook the LL forum with no. of posts. Roll on 1 year and LL has over 12k posts more than EoS.
  3. Bo’ness shouldn’t be worried about Darvel, albeit I know that league positions don’t dictate who necessarily win cup ties. Haddington has beaten Civil Services Strollers twice this season, (home & away in different cup ties), yet they lost at weekend to St Andrews. I think that only happened because, the manager, for whatever reason, didn’t pick his best 11; and by time last 2 subs came on they were chasing the cup tie. Haddington got beat by Darvel in last season’s Scottish Cup, but that was only after Haddington going in 1-0 up at half time and getting their keeper sent off in the middle of 1st half. With 11 players, I think Haddington could have beat Darvel, but that is/was immaterial. If Bo’ness play their best 11, they should beat Darvel.
  4. Are you not on twitter, Burnieman? Stats were shown early August, and similar figures should be on, in the coming days, for month of September. What surprised me, five days ago, as Ginaro detailed in his response, Ryan was missing (amongst others) two home crowds for your team.
  5. 3pts for correct result/score. Have edited my initial post as Yogi said it would be 1-0 to Celtic. Check the narrative from last night; last 30 seconds of the programme.
  6. Tell Kenny Miller, he knows f**k all about football and should listen to John ‘Yogi’ Hughes. On bbc radio Scotland last night, Kenny predicted a 2-1 victory for Rangers, whereas Yogi called it right at 1-0 for Celtic!
  7. Has to be the result of the round! Great result for St Andrews against Haddington and very unlucky for Preston Ath, getting beat on penalties by Dundonald Bluebell.
  8. When most EoS Premier League sides charging £8 (a few charging £7), the 25% uplift to £10 IS excessive for this league. Maybe that’s why Sauchie, as a team, have started the season poorer than most fans thought they would do
  9. Looking forward to seeing what Halfwit has to say. Often comes on here to rubute what has been put out about Tranent being a one-man funding team. Personally, have nothing against this and kudos to anyone who does 'bank roll' a club. As mentioned by someone on twitter (not me), Tranent would not be in this position (in Lowland League), without the guy's finances/input. I think it is great that East Lothian has a team in the Lowland League and other local clubs will be in envy of this! We will see as the season progresses, ( or perhaps next season) how much this changes Tranent's fortunes
  10. Early days, but check twitter for @eastscotlandfa for 9 August, where initial attendances for EoS are shown.
  11. Time will tell if the Penicuik Ath committee was correct in bringing Lewis Coult in as manager. Given the two most previous appointments (both ending quicker than the next), I do wonder what the criteria was in picking Louis as the new manager. His time at Edinburgh Utd does not appear to be a success (?), so what changes this time around? I can only wish him all the best.
  12. Earlier than you thought, but Penicuik Ath has just tweeted 13 players who will not be with them for 22-23. Huge building process for the new management team. Not my team, but. When I see so many players leave a club, it leaves me feeling a bit deflated. Appreciate that new players are generally welcomed at a club, but a brand new team leaves a wee bad taste for me!
  13. Don’t know you or your circumstances Dave, but from an outsider, I think you would be an excellent addition to the committee of Bo’ness Utd. Great poster on P&B; knowledgeable and care a lot about your team
  14. Do you think you could do better? You initially sounded as if you wanted to see the Div 1 figures sooner than later. Now you are questioning the accuracy in the numbers provided? When you say you are not alone in your thoughts, is it a large number or a few? Also, would be interesting which clubs you think provide inaccurate figures. Thing is; not quite sure what you mean by “fan base and contactless payments must facilitate accuracy” as I don’t think they go hand in hand. Remember, the attendance figures are not purely based on payments at gate / or in advance. It has previously been described here and elsewhere, it’s persons watching the match from behind the barriers - and with that, there will be a number of ‘kids’ either under 15 / under 12 (depending on different clubs rules around charging) who will not pay anything at gate, but should still be counted in the attendance figures. As you say, and I will do the same, this is my personal viewpoint.
  15. Huge commitment, but luckily the guy seems content, at the moment to do it! It’s comparable (and more) to the commitment that a number of committee members at our level face each year, so he and all the volunteers of our level of football should be thankful for.
  16. As the Faceman spends a lot of time and effort getting/collating and distributing the crowd stats, he has every right to wait for the actual crowd stat to complete his records. The data is published on a monthly basis on twitter, where the other poster will have obtained the details to update on P&B.
  17. I would say that the information on ‘a backer’ is incorrect. Obviously I can’t prove it as I do not know who you spoke to or who he said the backer was. However, I am confident as can be, that your initial post on this (re-Musselburgh) bears no substance of truth.
  18. Please explain your reference to bank roller for Musselburgh and thereafter crash and burn? Struggling to find a modicum of reality/sense in what you say.
  19. As you say, rules are rules, but I admire your honesty. My understanding, is that the player in question was 16 years old! If you are good enough, then I appreciate that age doesn’t matter, but I tend to agree with your sentiment
  20. The last paragraph of this post is not aimed at you #DUFC, but rather to the person you responded to in the above post. Although the quote mentions players and managers, it could easily refer to fans as well. For most of the season, Dunbar Utd were top of the 1st division and in my opinion, we’re always going to get promoted at first attempt, which would have been their objective at start of season. Today, Dunbar won their last match and ultimately the league (which is a bonus). I know fans can complain/moan about their team whenever they choose. I’ve done it myself. However, when your own team are top of the league, for so long, some of the negativity towards Dunbar this season has been laughable! THE MESSAGE BELOW, belongs to someone directly involved with Dunbar. Same message, (celebrate’) , could equally apply to ‘negativity. . . “Never understand why players and managers post on SM after a win to almost get it up people after 1 win, then go out and get beat your just setting yourself up for a fall. Keep your powder dry and if you achieve something celebrate it end of season not game to game”
  21. What is good to see, neutral point of view, is that; should Kinnoull beat Lochore (no gimme) on Tuesday, then all four promoted teams have a chance of going up as champions. Unlike you, I think Dunbar will hold onto their lead at the top of league. Only home side of top four and surely Dunbar will have one of their biggest crowds in many a year.
  22. It will be interesting to see what Burnieman says about today’s performance/result. Bet few, if any of us thought that VoL would even get a point today, never mind a win. Not a gimme of a straight return to the Premier League the following season for Blackburn.
  23. Response from Haddington Athletic Facebook page Haddington Athletic 2 h-0 Linlithgow's footage from yesterday's game here. Like to thank their cameraman for his very complimentary remarks on his Millfield experience, posted on Pie & Bovril - it's very much appreciated.
