  1. Kenny Dalglish after his testimonial at Hampden in 1986, with opposing managers for the day. Tommy Docherty bossed the Anglo-Scots, Alex Ferguson the Scottish league select. Can't remember the score but Kenny got the biggest cheer of the day when he scored an own goal from the penalty spot!
  2. Always looked ready to slide off the roof. Although it was said even in a 100,000 crowd, from the press box you could hear the players shouting on the pitch.
  3. I guess if you're happy to spend 4 quid on a tin of TL.

  8. George Best: All By Himself on BBC4 last night was an excellent documentary. Nice to see Hugh McIlvanney contributing, must have been one of the last things he did.

  10. No wonder the UK levels of testing are so bad, too much perving in the labs.
  11. True, but they had already won the league by then.
  12. Thanks for the reminder that Fiona Fullerton was in Angel's...
  13. My bursting at ths seams comment was referring specifically to the situation in Bergamo and similar instances elsewhere. Without the extreme preventative measures put in place we run the risk of such an outbreak occurring in the UK.
  14. I don't recall seasonal flu resulting in ICU wards and mortuaries bursting at the seams, with doctors and nurses treating the sick dying of the same infection.
  15. Notts Forest in the late 70s for me, with one or two exceptions a fairly ordinary squad but with an extraordinary management team.
  16. Just a stranger on the bus trying to keep his bugs his own.
  17. John Prine is with us it seems. Please don't bury him yet...
  18. Yep did some rough calcs in Excel there, staggering how much a difference that makes after 10 iterations. Although by my calculation 1.3 would give you 14 infections, 1.4 would infect 28. Extremely localised compared with 59000 though. And by my reckoning that means 59000 are being infected after the 10th iteration, but there's the total of everyone who's been infected at the previous iterations, meaning 1 person has infected 88,572 people by that stage!
  19. It's already taken Alan Merrill of the Arrows... https://ultimateclassicrock.com/alan-merrill-dead/
