  1. He just got a bit of a kicking from Gary Robertson on the radio this morning. Was quite amusing.
  2. Would see Labour return to being the 2nd party and the pro independence parties fall 3 short of a majority... http://www.scotlandvotes.com/holyrood
  3. Hopefully it stays that way...
  4. This guy's alright... https://mobile.twitter.com/JWillgoose_Esq?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
  5. Did it last year, decent wee festival, very family friendly and a fine selection of real ales It seems to have enlarged a bit this year, possibly due to the absence of the Wicker Man. It'll be interesting to hear how it goes.
  6. One step at a time I suppose. The top priority was to replace a bridge that was on course to fall into the Firth...
  7. All the weekend daytrippers will be clogging up the old bridge to drive it one last time
  8. Took the weans to it this afternoon. Feared the worst given the critical panning, but I enjoyed it more than some of the cartoons they've dragged me to in recent years...
  9. Or it's the summer and she's on holiday?...
  10. France is London's nearest neighbour though. I guess that's all that matters...
  11. Was that in Ireland or Scotland though?
  12. "A fly in the ointment" would probably have been closer to the intended meaning..... and would've kept her the whip.
  13. Could be a welcome addition, but the new party would take votes from the SNP too though.
  14. Mind that if this parliament goes full term Corbyn will be 73. If he does get elected the odds are he'll not have long to change British society.
  15. Why does there have to be a majority? Wendy Alexander wanted a minority administration to "bring it on". Fear of support for independence dropping isn't a great basis for rushing into an independence referendum. The approach should be to build support gradually until the result is a near formality, as was the case between 1979 and 1997.
  16. It was Last Year's Men. Loved this one in my teenage metalhead phase, it's still great...
  17. Remember where Clegg's from though.
  18. Cracking setlist too... http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/rem/1995/murrayfield-stadium-edinburgh-scotland-13d691d1.html I got a ticket as compensation for the SECC shows the previous year being cancelled, but couldn't go as I was working abroad. Didn't get to see them til Stirling Castle 4 years later. Which was a decent outdoor gig.
  19. Probably the worst combination of factors affecting the enjoyment of a gig is to have it outdoors in Scotland on a cold windy night in June. Crap sound, crap view, broad daylight throughout. You've got to put on a blistering performance to make that a good night for the punters.
  20. A better comparison might be the EU referendum, that happened 4 months after the date was announced.
  21. Just watched Frankie Boyle's New World Order there, the DUP were described as "the political wing of the Old Testament"
