I once questioned a guy on this once, I was needing the space to get my then 1 year old out of the car, and his was response was “aye they are at home” as if this suddenly made it okay.

I still remember a AMRC called Liam Kavanagh from FM09/10. Got him on a free transfer from Fulham for FC United when I was in League 2. Straight into the team and was the captain when we first qualified for the Champions League 10 or so years later. He was only a 2/2.5* player when that happened but I as also always giving him way more game time than he should have.

I must say I have never seen a player say they want to leave as they feel they are not good enough to play at the level the club is at.
