  1. https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/glossary/football-terms/ Restart position A player’s position at a restart is determined by the position of their feet or any part of their body which is touching the ground, except as outlined in Law 11 – Offside
  2. The decision on new clubs will come after the conclusion of the play-offs, right? So clubs would know if the EOS is down two clubs on this season, which may influence things and also change the setup again after Rosyth's exit?
  3. Broxburn to be promoted and Edinburgh Uni NOT coming down. As it stands this is on course to happen - however it relies on Brechin not being promoted, Gretna finishing bottom (currently only a point adrift but they play Uni on the final day), plus unlicensed Beith winning the WOS (7pts behind with 4 games in hand) to make it easier for Broxburn who would likely play Dalbeattie in the play-off.
  4. Kirkintilloch Rob Roy v East Kilbride in the final on Sunday 26th May at Broadwood
  5. Didn't realise Dundee North End are still in it as well with their 8 games in hand. Broughty have Scone, Tayport, Lochee Harp, Forfar United all away - win them and Lochee United can't be champions, you'd think Tayport in 9th would be their only difficulty.
  6. Surely they will have to keep playing for another week or two more than currently scheduled (like they did last year), no reason why the other divisions need finish at the same time as the Premier Division.
  7. Ardrossan can become the first club in the WOS to secure promotion with a win in their next game.
  8. Surely the more obvious point with the league's place in the pyramid is that none of the clubs in it are strong enough to compete in the LL. Therefore it should not be in the tier 6 play-off, and instead the winners should have the option to be promoted into a WOS division - either automatically or via a play-off to tier 8 or 9? At least that way clubs still have a pathway to the LL by first going through a WOS division at their level, rather than a massive step up or drop directly to/from the LL.
  9. If you google the paper it shows as a Daily Record website, the Livingston stories on there are amongst others done by someone from the Hamilton Advertiser, so it'll be easy enough to do a Livi article based on a press conference or something, rather than having to actually attend a game or hunt around for info from non-league clubs. As for the golf club story, it has photos supplied by them so they've probably got in touch, all the journo needs to do is an interview over the phone. Also, it's lot different nowadays with clubs having their own websites and more importantly social media, so the kind of content you'd need to wait until a Thursday to read in your local paper years ago, you can look at on your phone the day after a game.
  10. There's unlikely to be to an actual sports journalist at the paper anymore, and if no one from the clubs are providing their own match report or pushing for coverage then there won't be any.
  11. Neilston number 7 is really thick as shit though, sarcastically congratulating the ref for a decision having already got a yellow after disputing a throw-in and not shutting up when the ref was talking to him.
  12. Would be some end to the season if they did against clubs with nothing to play for. EK are away to Broomhill, CSS, Albion Rovers, Berwick (h), and Tranent - on 69 with 4 points needed. Bo'ness are away to Linlithgow, Broomhill, Hearts B, and Stirling Uni (h) - 72 max. Cumbernauld Colts are away to Albion Rovers, Celtic B, then home to Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh Uni, and Gala - 71 max.
  13. Perth is about 20 minutes further than Cowdenbeath and from Gala it's less time than going to Broomhill (at Dumbarton) or most of the WOS clubs that could be promoted to the LL. Not that either of them are going to be surviving much longer in the LL anyway.
  14. Only 3 home games left for them and next one in 3 weeks so maybe they thought the pitch sacrifice with a big crowd was worth it... He did actually see ELMW play, as he went to Ochilview later for their game v Stirling Uni. Think there's still a good few years of EOS grounds to be visited to allow the WOS clubs to prepare for the hoppers...
  15. Not seen it, did the incident warrant a red card?
  16. We are 0.500 ahead and Czechia get 0.250 for the Plzen draw after ET, but I just realised there are no bonus points for getting to the ECL QF so we are still in 10th. However a draw in either leg will put them level on points but they win the tie breaker due to more points in the current season. Depends on who Plzen get in the QF draw...
  17. Don't think so, it'll be if it goes to penalties does the draw take affect for the coefficient, a Servette win on penalties would be fine for us. Funny that it's Willie Collum as referee for that game, he could do the coefficient a favour with a dodgy decision...
  18. Hope my maths is right, but I think an EK win v Bo'ness and a draw between Tranent and Cumbernauld Colts means the title is won? Or a win for either in the latter fixture just delays the inevitable and means the other one is out of the running.
  19. They will beat the South champions in the play-off if Beith don't bottle it, but if they end up also playing a West team then I suppose they'll still have a chance having beaten Auchinleck earlier in the season. If Jeanfield drop 4 points (v Dunbar, Kinnoull, Musselburgh) before they play each other in four weeks time then a Broxburn win that day will seal the title (assuming they haven't also dropped points).
  20. 9 Saturdays for the Premier Division winner to be decided, but nothing stopping the other divisions going on for a week or two like last was done last season (and the EOS also does).
  21. Indeed, unlike the WOS the EOS isn't at capacity in the bottom division and there's a nice regional amateur system below - compared to the mess of four dwindling leagues covering the same west central belt area.
  22. They lost to tier 8 Craigmark and narrowly beat tier 10 Carluke in the cups so probably not.
  23. Why shouldn't West Dunbartonshire Council allow two teams to use their Holm Park astro facility rather than have it sitting empty every second Saturday? And should Stirling Albion and University of Stirling not be allowed to get a licence because Stirling Council own Forthbank? Same with Edinburgh City (and Leith Athletic) at Meadowbank and three teams sharing at Ainslie Park.
  24. It will be funny when Edinburgh Uni beat Gretna on the final day to go second bottom but then get relegated a month later anyway when the Highland champions beat Clyde/Stranraer to go up.
  25. In terms of the general point of private car parks, is it reasonable to give someone a £100+ invoice for overstaying in a free car park whilst they are shopping, for example?
