  1. That's not true though. In the Scottish tier system if you're in tier 3 or 4 you can't leave your LA (i.e. you can't visit relatives in a park who happen to live in a different LA) - but that isn't the case in England
  2. That must be the shortest, yet most eagerly anticipated speech she's done through all this. She's a fuckin' crank
  3. You might well be right - but I wonder what constitutes an "away fan" Scotland is full of fans of teams who live spread all over the country (I'm thinking of myself here!- Dundee United fan (season ticket holder) based in Central Scotland)
  4. Not sure if he was opening his mouth and letting his belly rumble, but Leitch said on Radio Scotland that a return to the tier system was likely, based upon, in comparison with England, Scotland's different geography (Islands, sparsely populated in some areas, heavily populated across the central belt). However he did moot that it may not be based on local authorities anymore, highlighting that the three distinct island groups, the North West of the country, and a sprawl from the central belt up to Dundee and Aberdeen. I think reading between the lines a tier system based local authorties may be scrapped, perhaps in favour of doing it by health board?
  5. I'm pretty sure she'd be entirely comfortable with that.
  6. Seriously ??? Yes. Johnson has went big and bold, but with necessary and sensible caveats. Sturgeon has a track record of being very careful and cautious. Tomorrow is an opportunity for her to lift the mood of the nation. The vaccines are going to be a big success, so she should act accordingly with the road map.
  7. After that by Johson, tomorrow is shaping up to be Sturgeon's biggest day as FM.
  8. Not me. I go to plenty games that wouldn't even get close to that. (I meant I'd missed the details of speech and hadn't seen the Step 3 document, that @No_Problemo kindly filled me in on.
  9. When you consider the pathetic 300 crowds that Inverness, County and Elgin were allowed - Yes. (Whats this 25% thing? I missed some of the details)
  10. I agree with you (for once!). Its being portrayed as cautious, but for me its quite the opposite. NS said today hers would be broadly similar, but I'd be utterly amazed if its even close. To be similar she'll need to A) bin zero-covid B) allow fans to stadiums in significant numbers C) end social distancing (if thats what 'ending legal limits on social contact' actually means). I genuinely don't beleive she'd do any of that this calendar year.
  11. I was wondering the same. Patrick Vallance was saying earlier today that SD should contine into next year. So I'm pretty sunsure
  12. Sturgeon said her review "would be broadly similar", but I just can't see it. Johnson's is pretty wide ranging
  13. I'm doing the same. Great to see. NS has actually re-tweeted Sky News' story about the vaccines, so even she would seem to be finding it good news. As I said earlier, today and tomorrow she must change her tone.
  14. She simply has to change her tone today and tomorrow.
  15. Sturgeron can't ignore this. Its a Scottish study to boot as well. Will be disappointed if she doesn't give this any more than a cursory mention today or tomorrow. I think she needs to find it within herself to start being a little more upbeat and optimistic.
  16. Golf is shut completely in England at present
  17. I switched off at 3-0, so maybe a little bit wrong of me to comment, but I far preferred that today, despite the heavy scoreline, to the marginal 2-1 loss to them in December.
  18. "Protect the NHS" is SO lockdown#1 Feels like that way of thinking has long been left behind in favour of 'no cases / no hospitalisations / no deaths'
  19. Again, (re-iterating the point here really) I agree with you. But ultimately it boils down to what Ms Sturgeon thinks. And it would appear that case numbers are quite a big deal (alongside the other numbers) to her.
  20. I agree with you about case numbers not mattering too much. As I said earlier though, it would seem NS disagrees on this. And when I say 'stuck in limbo' I appreciate that, going by last year, they should drop come late spring. But for the next few months I can't see them dropping to such an extent that it would allow the FM to relax restrictions (assuming the easing is to be 'data led')
  21. I harped on about this a week ago.... Case numbers have platuaued. I imagine most would agree with that. They've done so at a fairly high level (about 850) and despite being 'lockdown', the case numbers are stubbornly high. I personally think there should come a point where case numbers become irrelevant, but unfortunately NS doesn't agree with that. I really don't know where we go from here. Case numbers stuck at 850 odds + in a lockdown = stuck in limbo.
  22. Save a few medical exemptions I agree. I think the small pox vaccine was mandatory, and look what happened there. On the whole though, I expect uptake in Scotland to be very high.
  23. Surely these people must on occasions attend sports events / concerts / theatres etc. themselves. To advocate these things being left in limbo for an indefinite (possibly forever) amount of time is bizarre.
  24. Hospitality not opening in Ireland until mid - summer. Where they've led we've quite often followed
  25. I think I saw it was £10 on Rangers TV. Is there away team commentary available does anyone know? I have reservations about giving that lot a pound of my money, but the wee fella is super keen and there's nothing better to do these days. But not sure I'd be willing to pay to watch, AND endure what would no doubt be vomit inducing home team commentary.
