  1. Check out Scotland's Car Buyer; part of Eastern Western Group too. Was reading on a motoring site a couple of folk having to wait longer than the advertised 4 days to get their cash from WBAC; car sold on and advertised by the new dealer in the time it took. You can pay a fee to get your money quicker though.
  2. There are only two South-bound lines; one line in each tunnel at the East End of Waverley. These lines need to take services to and from North Berwick, Tweedbank, LNER to London (2 in and out an hour), CrossCountry to Plymouth/ Penzance etc, TransPennine services via the East Coast, and to from both Craigentinny and Millerhill Depots..... So yeah fairly busy although it is the Haymarket side that's busiest; more lines to work with there though. Not really any scope to add lines either East or West when you look at the physical constraints directly beyond the station in either direction.
  3. This is the reason, there's no space to get into Waverley from the East (South-bound) end or through Princes St Gardens and out at Haymarket. Trams mooted using it but in addition to the above they had already ordered trams which are not compatible with railway infrastructure (600kv /25,000kv overhead lines to start with....). The suburban line is sometimes used as a diversion during engineering works.
  4. Don't know if it's back up and running yet but there's the Chivas Blend experience.... quite fancy it myself. https://www.chivas.com/en-GB/theblend
  5. Having just moved house and dumped the old sofa as a new one is on its way, the living room became the place to put everything that needs putting away until she decided where it was to go (can't ask as the response is "think for yourself" which becomes "that's not supposed to be in there" when I put stuff away....). New sofa arrives Saturday so it is now extremely urgent we sort the living room....... So she is to be found sorting the cupboard under the kitchen sink......
  6. However they look like the complete professionals when compared to Hermes...... Table and chairs ordered to our new house, 2 parcels because of the size. Chairs arrive via DPD 2 days later, today 10 days after the chairs arrive Hermes inform me the table is on it's way back to the sender. To be fair to the supplier they already have another on it's way to us, this time with Yodel and its already at the delivery hub!
  7. In that case give up on your quest in Falkirk I'm afraid......... Your regular in your home town will always beat anywhere else, after 11+ years in Falkirk an Alari's (when they were still open) or a Golden Chip from Dunfermline would still win out.
  8. We don't do Benny T's, IMHO they are trading on past reputation. If you are in the delivery area Colorado Thistle is on Just Eat [emoji106] definitely recommend, Jeff cooks to order so there is a wait but it is worth it.
  9. What? Do you not rate the conveyor belt that is Benny T's? Was a touch upset when the owner sold Colorado in Laurieston as always had a good meal from there. Then I found he had moved, new shop is the Colorado Thistle on Thistle Street just off Etna Road, as we are moving into the new Persimmon Estate just off Etna Road I'm quite happy with this situation..... Remember getting a decent supper from Land and Sea in Polmont a few years ago too. Further south there is a belting chippy in Eyemouth but I can't remember the name.
  10. If anyone wants to complain about the headline in that rag this is the link, details in the photos, reason is clause 4.... https://www.ipso.co.uk/complain/complaints-form/?fbclid=IwAR2_kwXQ1UKjTECLxp80QGBZUGDdaIScEOlkqv8sZ0my90Gs48Pc6UlU7bk
  11. Kanye West's plans if he were to run for PoTUS and win..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-53332251
  12. Boris says naw......apparently doesn't want midnight parties.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53279855
  13. Remember the ideal time to make your mind up is with about 3 months to go. Also once you have sorted out what you are doing cancel your Direct Debit after the last installment or there is a slight chance they might try to take the balloon payment that way; normally even if you are paying it off you would call up and do a settlement instead as you control the date etc.
  14. PCP explained by Money Saving Expert; https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-finance/personal-contract-purchase/
  15. It should be less than the car is worth IF you give accurate information when setting up the deal; the idea is to leave some equity in to be a deposit on the next deal: making that easier to do. That is why it's called the Guaranteed Minimum Future Value but if you don't stick to the deal it affects the projected value used to work out the GMFV. In the case above with such a massive disparity in the mileage factored in and the actual mileage covered then most likely the car will be worth less. Might be lucky and just wash in a sale or trade-in it's face but that's highly doubtful.
  16. At 8p per mile which is around the standard she's looking at £1360 excess mileage charges for each year! They won't negotiate on that lol. Her only escapes are 1 to sell privately and hope it covers the balloon payment. 2 trade in and hope its worth enough to cover the balloon payment. 3 pay the balloon and own the car 4 illegally tamper with the mileage but be caught out because MOT will show what it is at year 3 and likelyhood they won't believe the car has been parked up for 2 years or thereabouts.... and when the dealer plugs the car in to their system it will show the correct mileage as it gets stored in several places on a car now.
  17. That means it's a very badly structured PCP deal; the aim is to leave you with enough equity to form a deposit on the next deal. Ideally from that dealership. I've been on both sides of the desk for PCP deals and if the numbers are sensible it can be a good way to buy. There are some incredibly poor examples I have seen advertised though! Its 17 years since I worked in car sales for a BMW dealer; BMW always set fairly low balloon payments and the average BMW was worth around 63% of purchase price after 3 years at that time.....
  18. It really does, if you are given incorrect but insured professional advice you have protection as a business in that you can claim against the advisors insurance to mitigate any fine etc. Ignore that advice or not seek insured advice and you are screwed if HMRC come after you...... Directors would not be fulfilling their duties as Directors and could be held personally liable if the act to the detriment of the business.
