  1. Any word of a pitch inspection? Or has Forfar missed the worst of the rain?
  2. Never thought I’d see the day Rory gave up a pen to somebody else, especially a penalty he’d won himself. Then a few minutes later squared it to Shanks where he’d usually have shot himself. I am quite enjoying this more selfless version of Rory we seem to be getting this season.
  3. Hopefully no new manager/sacking of DOF bounce today
  4. Would say we were the better team in the first half and missed a few chances which cost us. Jack Brown had another good game and deserved his MOTM. A bit disappointed with the second half as we seemed to resort to the long ball too often and just seemed to fall out of the game a little bit. Was really impressed with Stenny’s defence, especially Nicky Jamieson, Shanks really struggled against them and didn’t get a sniff. Really frustrating last 10 minutes after the red card where Stenny just sat in with everyone behind the ball and we couldn’t break them down. A pretty even game and a draw was probably a fair result. Can’t be too disheartened with another clean sheet and still top of the league.
  5. It’s been a long time since I’ve come away from a game feeling this positive about a performance. I thought we were immense, so much fight and quality about us. Could’ve picked four or five of them for man of the match. O’Keefe with two well taken goals, second a peach. Shanks did what Shanks does, running non-stop and set up the first goal nicely. Jack Brown seems to be getting his form back after a rough season. Goldie was solid again and looks like he’ll be a great signing. McCarthy played some beautiful long balls into the corner where he usually keeps it simple. A superb start against a side who have been tipped as title challengers. Saw flashes of that but on the whole, didn’t cause us too many problems. Really liked the look of Jack Healy, reckon he’ll have a very good season for you. Trying not to get carried away but if we can keep these performance and this good feeling going, there’s no reason we can’t push for the playoffs or maybe even further. Was just glad to see everyone smiling on the bus home for a change.
  6. Will be sitting in Charles de Gaulle airport unfortunately. Just hoped I’d get some pre-flight entertainment watchin us skelp Utd
  7. Not a great draw at all for us. No new grounds to tick off along with being a very difficult one to advance from. First competitive football for next season is in sight now so excited it for it nonetheless.
  8. Absolutely dreadful game of football, bring on League Two
  9. Jason Brown out injured for us tonight, will be a huge miss. Hopefully big Joshua doesn’t bring his Airdrie away form
  10. Competed in the first half, liked the look of Oyinsan. We completely fell out of the game second half. Don’t think McKenzie’s debut could’ve gone much worse
  11. Sat back far too much and tried to run down the clock the whole second half, that equaliser was coming. Would’ve taken a draw all day before the game though but a bit gutting coming so close. Have to say I fairly enjoyed the Airdrie support getting more and more wound up as the game went on. A highlight being one of the coaches sprinting on to the pitch seething and slipping on his arse
  12. Julien Carre being suspended will be a big miss for us. However, if McCarthy is fit to start he should fill in that role very nicely. Seen some glimmers of good stuff from us recently so hopefully we can build on that. Can’t remember the last time we won at Links Park though.
  13. Hoping for a slightly more entertaining game than my last few trips to Edinburgh. A boring, park-the-bus 1-0 effort from us will also do just fine.
  14. Remember a game down at Berwick in league 2 where they were 16/1 to beat us. Remember being very tempted by it at the time but never took a punt. They, of course, beat us 2-0 that night to end a 15-game winless streak.
  15. I’d say a bit of both. Whilst Peterhead did you plenty of favours by not being able to keep a hold of the ball, when Queens did have possession they knocked it about quite nicely and created a fair few chances. They strolled that second half and you could see the gap in quality and fitness between the full and part-time teams. Was impressed by your No. 8 in particular.
  16. Decent first 10 or so minutes from us then just completely fell out of the game. We were shocking second half especially, don’t even think we managed a shot. We are in big trouble.
  17. Rory gone to Montrose. That’ll be another 4 goals for him against us no doubt.
  18. Buzzing with the McCarthy re-signing, he was my POTY last season and would’ve been a huge loss. McDonald started to grow on me towards the end of the season aswell. Has a mistake in him but looked more comfortable when he moved out to full back. Also plays a beautiful diagonal long ball
  19. I believe that was Martin Johnston, the general manager. Agreed, was a small but very meaningful gesture
  20. Great performance again and a much welcome 3 points. Always good to get a win against Clyde Good to see Savoury getting a few goals aswell as I think the only thing missing from his game has been that end product, so hopefully he can build on that. Big one down at Dumbarton next weekend so hopefully more of the same.
  21. Think we missed McCarthy massively today, there seemed to be no fight in the middle of the park (or anywhere else on the park). There was no energy or urgency about anything we did and again we just didn’t create anywhere near enough chances. As has been said I think we’re just going to have to hope Dumbarton are worse than we are.
  22. 1 win since the start of the year makes it difficult to be optimistic for this one but really need a win here. Had a great day out at the 2-4 game earlier in the season so hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
