  1. It wont include you because you are doomed. See you next season.
  2. Scottish Cup was last year. We got pumped fae United this season.
  3. He is home. To be fair, we were sweating when you got rid of Johnston and very relieved when you appointed Crawford. He signed a new three year contract no too long ago so wont come cheap.
  4. Too many teams have their eye on Petrie. What he has done for us is nothing short of remarkable. Unfortunately for us, it can't be long until a bigger team takes a punt on him.
  5. We played QOS in one of the cups early in the season. They beat us in a replay after drawing at home. I'm sure they were in better spirits then though. We played United in the Scottish Cup and got mauled 4-0 at home. I think this was the match that made us realise that we are nowhere near ready for another step up.
  6. Keeping a close eye on this Royal Rumble to see who our opponents could be ( not counting my chickens ) in the soon to be play offs. Interesting that very few seem positive going into their last two games and everyone is giving the "we are shitier than you" pessimists view. For those of you who haven't been following League 1, we, Montrose need one point from our last 2 games. To pip us, we have to lose both games and East Fife have to win both of theres. We've got the harder games playing both Raith and Forfar who have already wrapped up 2nd and 3rd places and will face each other in the other play off semi. With their places already guaranteed, both might rest players with play offs in mind. Form wise, we are the form team in the league taking 15 points from our last possible 18. East Fife were streets ahead of us but their form has been dreadful. Arbroath were the only team to beat us in our recent run. League 1 has been very similar to the Championship. Arbroath have cruised the league and deservedly so. The rest have been very close, each being able to beat or lose to anyone on their day. As for our play off Hope's should we get there. I'm not sure. We have had an amazing season this year having been in league 2 for over 20 years. To be on the cusp of the championship is beyond our wildest dreams. Our aim at the start of the season was 8th place, to stay in the league. What we've achieved has been remarkable. If we were to go up, we would need to rebuild our team because, to be absolutely honest, we are not ready for it. We would fear doing a Brechin and look where they are now.
  7. The first one seems to be the hot favourite but it's not for me. I would have it last. I like the bottom left one. Very similar to the current strip which I like.
  8. It's not over yet but to think that three of the four Angus clubs would be in the position that they are in now would have been unthinkable. Well done Arbroath on strolling the league. They have been the best team I've seen this season and thoroughly deserve their title. Well done Forfar. They've also had a great season and fully deserve their place in the play offs. As for the Mighty Mo. our aim at the start of the season was to finish 8th. To be in the play off position with three games to go was way beyond our wildest dreams. Whats going on at Links Park just now is unbelievable. On and off the pitch, our club is a credit to the town. Brechin - After last season it was always going to be a hard task to motivate and kick on. I really hope Brechin survive the drop, A) for an easy away game and B) for 12 easy points. Good luck Brechin.
  9. Through gritted teeth, I say congratulations to the smoked haddocks. they have been the best team I've seen this season and deserve their day in the sun.
  10. Haven't given up hope but a couple of points. Firstly, our main objective at the start of the season was to finish 8th or higher. To be in with a shout of the play offs at this stage of the season has outshone everyones expectations. Barring an incredible series of results, job done. Secondly, our team isn't ready for promotion. If we were to go up, I would fear a "Brechin " and after last seasons debacle look where they are now. If we were to make the play offs, I would celebrate along with the rest and dare I say it, promotion....... now I'm getting beyond myself.
  11. Like the friend that nobody wants. We enter the room and everyone else disappears.
  12. No often folk are buzzing for a trip to Brechin but in the circumstances I can understand it. I bet the publicans in Brechin are buzzing too.
  13. He was celebrating as if the league was won without realising that Raith has pissed in his champers. However, I'm sure the case of Dom Pom will be cracked next week.
  14. Almost as funny as Dick parading around his technical area embracing everyone around him as the news filtered through about the goal at Stenny.
  15. Two League Cup ties spring to mind, both in the late 70s. Montrose 3 Hibs 2. Hibs won the first leg 1-0 then scored in the first minute of the second leg to lead 2-0. Montrose scored twice to win 2-1 and take it to extra time. It was a foul night of wind and rain which had a hand in the winner. Hibs were attacking when Mo full back Les Barr booted the ball from well inside his own half. The ball sailed off in the wind. Hibs goalkeeper Jim McArthur went out to collect the ball, slipped on his arse and the ball bounced over his head and into the net. Montrose 5 Raith rovers 4 Again two legs. Rovers played Mo off the park and won the first leg 3-0 then scored first in the second leg to lead 4-0. Montrose rallied to win 5-1 on the night so 5-4 on aggregate.
  16. With results going our way last night, this is pretty much another free hit. We are 5th in the table and win, lose or draw at the weekend we are still going to be 5th. However, we don't want too many free hits but take nothing from them. A draw at the weekend wouldn't be a bad result keeping the chasing pack at arms length. In saying that, Airdrie are bottom of the form league at the moment. They have only 2 points from their last 6 matches so should be there for the taking. Away win please.
  17. Well, I'll keep quoting it every time we play as long as he keeps GETTING it wrong.
  18. Can we please get a re-run of the "We are a massive scalp for them" interview that McGlynn gave the last time we met Raith. All the motivation we needed. It certainly worked well for us last time. C'Mon the Mo
  19. Don't know if this was ever answered but far too many pages to scroll through. However, before redevelopment, the old main stand was on the opposite side of the park so the terracing you see in the picture was never meant to wrap around the pitch. There was a terracing of similar height to the one behind the goal where the new stand is now. It stretched from about the ends of the 18 yard box at both ends. One quirk about Links Park though. Nipping in to the Legion at half time for "refreshments" (quite often never re-appearing for the second half) Some other pictures showing the old stand and terracing
  20. We're crying out for an out and out striker. He scores a few for a pish Stenny team.
