  1. If you look at the performances of the keepers this season it's clear that both come in make mistakes and then settle down after a few weeks and their performances improve markedly. Long starter the season very shakily but was then outstanding before getting injured . Nicky came in struggled a wee bit but then started getting far more consistent before being taken out the team after a couple of clean sheets. Same with Nicky recently culminating in an motm performance against kelty. Chopping and changing no matter how a keeper is performing is just utter nonsense. Pick one and stick with him . To me Hogarth is our keeper and had the position he should've been in that post till the end of the season or a poor drop in form. Talking him out after a motm performance is just laughable. If it pisses off Lincoln city then who cares. Far more important to the club that we get promotion tied up and that the keeper who may be with us next season gets a decent run in the side to try and win a contract as one of our two keepers next season. As someone said giving them a month each is feckin amateur football type stuff.
  2. I can see why he played him in January but the windows shut now there's no need to bring him back in.
  3. Jesus wept. We're unbeaten in 26 this season Hamilton have lost 3 out of your last 6 and we're meant to be bottling it.
  4. Problem is that it's been obvious that the two young keepers we have taken a few weeks to settle into the role and are prone to mistakes when they first come back in. Hogarth had got better and better culminating in his motm performance last week. In January Long had just settled in only to be taken out of the team after a couple of clean sheets. To me it's not doing either any good as they are getting replaced just as they are hitting form.
  5. I thought big coll was excellent today. Didn't think he did a whole lot wrong and was comfortable on the ball. MacIver didn't have his best game and nesbitt covered every blade but not a lot came off for him.
  6. Should've won by a cartload but piss poor finishing and a lack of precision with the final ball meant we were always susceptible to a defensive error costing us 3 points. Was one way traffic for the majority of the 90 . Mcginn played well considering his lack of game time and didn't put a foot wrong. Annan didn't have a shot first half and second half ventured forward on only a few occasions. Should have been a comfortable one nil win but a punt up in the air long makes a hash of it and after a bit of pin ball they scored and got an undeserved point. This and the Edinburgh away game are 4 points lost that could easily have been avoided which is really frustrating. No need to change the keepers just like there was no need to change the team and formation that day.
  7. Hogarth motm last week long drops a clanger this week. We are dropping points for absolutely no reason by this swapping keepers.
  8. Thought mcginn played pretty well to be honest . Didn't give the ball away once and got stuck in.
  9. This giving the keepers a month each is a bit weird. They both just get settled and then are out again. Not a fan of it . Rather we were giving Nicky to the end of the season to see if he is going to be an option for next season. Not sure about mcginn either. Slows the game down a bit much for me but if Tait and Henderson are carrying knocks then that's a different matter. Who knows.
  10. My opinion on the 4th stand is that whatever it is you want it to fill the space there thus vastly improving the atmosphere and to an extent reducing the pitches openness to howling gales etc. The atmosphere is always better in stadium where you are basically hemmed in on all sides. Would make a huge difference in my opinion.
  11. Excellent podcast again. I love Sammy but Peter Houston was always the original ginger god.
  12. Too big surely. Truck cab or crane perhaps a better option.
  13. Could we not just stick the Edinburgh fans in the directors box?
  14. I just read an article on Kyle McDonald whose unfortunately in hospital with a fractured skull. Always gives his all when he's played against us so hopefully he will have a speedy recovery . It's only football at the end of the day.
  15. Seeing those unbeaten season lists it's got to be a whole lot easier doing it over 18 games than 36 so I wouldn't compare those to others.
  16. Aye he's gone from announcing the teams to the fans with us to announcing the fans to the teams at queen's park.
  17. Fans hopes are everchanging dependant on various factors. After the sheerin Rennie debacle I remember most of us on here just looking to get a team back on the park that we could be proud of with playoffs seen as a decent achievement considering how bad we were the season before. That then changed to pretty close to 50/50 mcglynn stay/go after the Airdrie game. I always felt giving him the benefit of the doubt was the better choice as we'd been down the chopping and changing route for too long and there was at least progress to build on despite the Airdrie disaster. Thankfully patience has given us the reward of one of the best seasons in a long time and hopefully more to come.
  18. Let's face it with crowds of only 700 odd Hamilton are basically in the league they should be in currently. Anything else is then punching above their weight like Arbroath.
  19. They certainly must be. When you look at the signings they made in the summer they certainly must've outbid a decent number of sides for the likes of Hamilton , dabrowski and mullin. Likes of Byrne, Rudden and Ashcroft's wages won't be peanuts either. They are going all in for getting up this season. Crowds have been better but despite having 6000 and 7000 plus against United and 5500 plus against Dunfermline they are still averaging less than us.
  20. Meanwhile upon hearing the news a crowd gathers outside the CEOs office at New Douglas Park.
  21. Yeah Alfie is a work in progress. First full season of full time football he like Ross has been a bit unlucky in that Morrison and miller have been so good and nesbitt has upped his game. Still raw but I still think he could turn into a top player still.
  22. In thought hendo looked a bit leggy yesterday. Would perhaps give Tait a.game instead of him to give him a break.
  23. Let's face it Ross would be starting for every other side in our league and the majority of the championship too. He's just unlucky that miller and Morrison have been on top form since he came in. Hopefully he will get a bit of game time between now and may to show what he can do properly.
  24. Mcglynn didn't seem to think it was offside anyway in his post match interview and I'd expect him to have seen footage that would clear that up so I'm beginning to think the officials got that one right . That was about the only thing they did get right mind you.
