This has compounded that McGlynn is useless for me. Those changes should have been made at half time, if not 60th minute at the latest. Always believed Duggan should have started that game. QoS will stay up without getting out of second gear. Gifted them an easy win tonight with absolutely zero fight until the 80th minute onwards. Davo and Wedderburn should be nowhere near a professional football team. Fair play to QoS, I’d be ecstatic to win a game like that! Hardly had to do a thing and cruise to victory!

I watched the highlights from the 5-0 and every goal was terrible defending... Which raises my confidence as we haven't had as bad a defence performance as that this season(touch wood) but at the same time lowers it... because our defence is more than capable of committing the same errors and poor defending. At the same time, Montrose had chances and had they been clinical may not have ended up on the wrong side of a doing. QoS's defence looks as fragile as ours. Get the ball to Nesbit in the right positions, we can potentially have a fantastic night. We just need to hope that McGlynn has a game plan, which I'm sure he will, and the players can pull it off. Definitely need more support up tops for Nesbit. he's looked a very lonely figure in the playoffs so far and we need to free him up from holding the play up and have him running of the hold up man, maybe Duggan if he's 100% fit. Defensively, we need to eradicate the errors that have cropped into every game, hard task given that they've been super consistent in being bombscares the whole season. My heart says we'll have a good result tonight, my head says Dobbie will get his tummy tickled by our defence. COYR.

Out of hibs vs us and hearts vs auchinleck, I think the better game for tv would be our one... but because of auchinleck being bigger underdogs I’d agree they will go with auchinleck. There may also be a chance of both ties being moved from Saturday 3pm with the rugby on and a probable stretch in policing across Edinburgh. If it’s on the telly it wouldn’t matter too much for hibs as a fair few pubs down leith have hibs tv so if hibs fans didn’t want to go, they won’t and go to a pub instead but would more than likely make a hit to the numbers we take through.

A few hibees fans at my work have said he’s rank and i watched him a couple of times when hibs were on the telly and he was terrible.. pretty sure they got pumped at hampden and he was at fault for pretty much all the goals. before he left I thought he did ok for us when he got a run in the squad. I remember he had a blinder against hibs when we beat them in the Scottish . Problem we’ve had with recent keepers are they are small (apart from Lennox but injuries dented any progress he made) whereas laidlaw is tall.... that’s about as far as my compliments go for laidlaw..

I've watched McDonald a couple of times when he played for Hearts this season and looked a decent young player... But looks lightweight... Which will be perfect for our team!!!!

That first half was absolute perfection and the best I think I’ve ever seen the rovers play. Hendry made such a difference in the middle of the park, what a great player! Bene looked his old self and was commanding at the back and absolutely quality! Didn’t think Davidson’s tackle was even a foul let alone a yellow card which shades a great performance from him. Full backs were quality and a good to see Murray passing the ball a bit better. To the guy who questioned me when I said Wedderburn should be playing in the middle, give me a private message and I’ll send you my address for the written apology. Vaughan was tremendous first half but was trying a bit too hard second half and lost the ball on a number of occasions. Second half was to be expected playing against the wind but I feel like we should have carried on with playing it from the back like we did in the first half but I suppose job was already done by that time and change of formation from Dumbarton didn’t look like it helped the case! Thomson made an unbelievable save just after the start of the second half which may have picked Dumbarton up a bit had t went in. Apart from that he didn’t have much to do but I did question his positioning a few times and would be intrigued to see if his positioning was bad for the Dumbarton goal but all and all, what a great day. The atmosphere was incredible from the rovers fans and the general feeling mcglynn has brought back is amazing! Well done the rovers, hopefully we can keep this kind of performance up!

Bring in "non existent" players? Eh? The invisible winger? The phantom striker? Duggan showed his menace by fluffing the best chance he had. He's currently as thrratening as a sheep. Aye pretty much. Also, the difference between having an actual striker on the pitch as opposed to Vaughan who isn't a striker is clear. The positions Duggan takes up when we're on the attack is much different from the ones that Vaughan and Nesbitt take up because he plays as a striker rather than a free role and doesn't drop deep for the ball. He plays through the middle of the defences and finds the gaps that are exposed. Let me know when Vaughan did that cheers. There were times where he had found the space and the ball didn't get passed to him so he has the potential to be dangerous but isn't really given the chance to be dangerous. I really hope you're not talking about the through ball that bounced too far in front of him... That's utter madness if you are saying he fluffed that chance...

We must have been at different games. Duggan, a threat? Man of the Match Wedderburn no good at CH? Given any time Duggan got the ball to him he looked to bring it down and bring in non existent players then yeah, I'd say that was more threatening than Nesbitt and Vaughan dropping deep to pick up the ball to do nothing with it. He may have lost the ball a couple of times but he was pretty much up there on his own with no support so what else could he do? I'd put him down as more of a threat than Nesbitt or Vaughan was yes. Wedderburn was man of the match because no one else did anything really. There was so many times the ball was up in the air to be won with the header and Wedderburn didn't even challenge. I genuinely can't remember anything he did to deserve man of the match apart from his run from the back. Although I can't think of anything anyone else did to get it. Flanagan would have been my man of the match given that he was the biggest threat we had the few opportunities he had to run at them and actually did a not bad job at defending given he isn't a defender.

Very late in getting to this but Saturday was probably the most infuriating game since the Brechin Play-offs/Alloa play-offs. I get that Cuthbert is a novice at this and it really showed on Saturday but to boo him both at half time and full time is an absolute disgrace. The man has been thrown into a position he's never done before and is obviously trying his best and is hurt by the results. I also wasn't happy with the tactics played but that's just ludicrous. Anyway, to play a 3-5-2 with Murray and Flanagan as wing backs is absolutely mental given that Murray doesn't have a clue how to play attacking and is probably the worst player we have with the ball at his feet, and Flanagan can't really defend (not for a lack of trying). It was clear Flanagan further up the pitch caused Montrose problems every time but the majority of his game was played deep. Wedderburn at CB is not a thing. For being a huge unit he does not like to header the ball or go in for a challenge. The marauding run midway through the second half showed he's better placed in the middle of the park. Neither Bene nor Davidson fill me with any confidence this season and McKay should 100% be our first choice CB. It would not surprise me we absolutely blow it and he ends up with a move away with us getting little to nothing for him in the process. Midfield was absolutely nowhere all game. You could see Gillespie was trying to be here, there and everywhere because Milne was absolutely terrible and a passenger and Matthews was kind of just running about with no purpose. There is a definite reason that Milne has spent the majority of the time on the bench so far, he offers nothing. Second half Matthews improved slightly but not to gain pass marks in my opinion. Then there comes arguably the most ridiculous thing. Why, why, why drop Vaughan in to the centre of the park when we know he just can't play there. I know Vaughan tries too hard the best of time but it's like he thinks he's Iniesta when he goes in the centre of the park. Drops deep, tries a worldy pass, messes up a worldy pass, Montrose come away with possession. I felt sorry for Nesbitt. He tried his heart out but was starved of anything meaningful (which appears to be a trending thing over the past couple of seasons). Thought Duggan looked a threat when he came on but had no one in support. All in all, obviously 3-5-2 does not work. Both because we are playing players out of position but also because the players don't know how to play the formation. We were far too deep the majority of the game with our attacking player dropping deep to try gain meaningful possession which meant we had no one up tops to do anything. We were all over the shop. Although Cuthbert is a novice, I just do not get how he didn't change it at half time. It was clear for everyone to see that it just wasn't working and I probably would have gave him some brownie points if he changed it but he stuck with a system that, to put it simply, wasn't working. The other point that gets me is that we have played 4-4-2 at home all last season and this season and we have won the majority of games, so why change it? I know we are far from dangerous when playing a 4-4-2, but we are a hell of a lot more dangerous playing a 4-4-2 than a 3-5-2. More the fact that the players know how the F*** to play it. Clear to see we need a manager in ASAP.

It's imperative we get a manager in before the Arbroath game as someone has already mentioned. I'm getting worried though because I'd imagine there should be a handful of stand out candidates who should have been invited for talks by now. I get being cautious but with the chat seeming as though the board have taken a week whittled 40 down to 12 then another week to then whittle the bunch down to half a dozen just makes me feel like they are being far too cautious. There must be stand-out candidates.... Surely?!

I hope you were there at the game. We moan about Barry smith not having a plan B, cuthbert has no plan A. Didn’t know how to affect the game or change things so we could get a foothold. An inexperienced manager once the season has already started is too big a gamble. But aye, I’ll grab that book you suggested... moron

Saturday has shown me we can’t take a risk with a manager. We need an experienced guy who’s been there and done it and knows his stuff. We played the same formation throughout even though it wasn’t working. Wedderburn needs to go back to cb and bene out, he is atrocious. Need a new rb pronto. Saturday was an absolutely terrible performance and we were incredibly lucky county changed formation in the second half so we could match them or it would have been 10+-0. Whilst Robson seems like a candidate, I just don't think we can risk an inexperienced manager.

It's a great prospect/chance to get a title, 100%, but there is obviously something behind the scenes going in that managers do not like. I know Yogi was an absolute monstrosity of a manager with us but he was holding a Q & A and said that the club is an utter shambles behind the scenes and now Smith has left with also the board apparently being the cause. Also, why would Easton reject the chance to have a go? At the end of the day, managers talk and other managers will, more than likely, listen to their piers thoughts on being the manager at the club and that could easily put people off. Agree that it's a great opportunity to turn the club around though.

It's surprising that he has left, I'm not overly bothered however it has left us in a bit of a pickle as I can't imagine the replacement will be any better given that the people we'll have to choose from will either have been sacked or without a club for a substantial period of time. I can't believe folk are even suggesting Goodwin. Why would he leave Alloa where there is no pressure for a team in the league below and also when St. Mirren are interested in him? I get the pipe dream but silliness of the highest order. Same with Neilson. Would love to see how many tears he laughs if we declared out interest. Hartley did a great job at Alloa, however stumbled when it came to the Championship, then there's Dundee and Falkirk which probably isn't worth mentioning. He's a young manager and he would be a risk but he's probably the best pick out of the shortlist of the people who would actually take the job and are most realistic. Jim Duffy would be a backwards step I think but have no doubt he'd manage to get us out of this league. He has a slightly more 'on the deck' approach than Smith but there's no future getting him as manager. McGlynn can probably be put in the same bracket as Duffy but think he would actually be a worse choice than Duffy. If McGlynn gets us back up I think we would struggle in the Championship. He's also been a scout for years and don't think it would be sensible to bring him back. McGurn is an absolutely ridiculous notion. Lennon would be OK but his career has absolutely stagnated. Not sure he would be the best choice. Don't get me started on Stubbs. He's absolutely clueless. I know folk are going to chime in with the whole 'He won the Scottish cup' but he is useless. Ellis is my top pick. I like the idea of Ellis back but that would mean compensation and also he'll probably have it pretty kushty at United but might want to progress further and get a shot at management. He did very well in the games that he took over the squad after McKinnon's departure at United and has a great bond with the club so would obviously want to see them do well but there's obviously an 'in the know' about the state of the club if Easton rejected it previously. Doubt he would accept. Either way, the club is not an enticing offer as it appears we are in dire straights. Whoever comes in has a job on there hand but may relish the challenge of trying to get us back to where we were.

I'm of the opinion that had he not dropped Smith and put Lennox back in we would have won the league. Smith was utter pish but he had a better campaign than Lennox did.

I’m playing in a young professionals 5-a-side tournament today and this roaster is the guest speaker and is holding a Q & A.. could be interesting... Any suggestions of questions will be taken into consideration. All questions suggested will be asked until he tries to fight me.

I'm just going to interject with this whole 'take a gamble' point of view... We interviewed Jack Ross and took Gary Locke..

The thing that gets me is that we almost won that league last season to the completely shake up the team the following season seemed a little impulsive. We should have looked to go to a hybrid full time and part time in order to keep players. I get the likes of Thomson is past his best and Barr was a passenger at best last season but just to pump the whole team and leave ourselves with nothing is a bit shambolic., especially when you look at what we are left with. Also to go to a hybrid model would have given us a better chance to get good players, considering it looks like the majority of players struggling to stay full time want to go part time, and replacements for the people we didn't see fit the bill. The start of this campaign is such a shambles already and I really cannot see us making a statement unfortunately.
