  1. That is a double edged sword. If you don’t bother this window and just accept floating above the bottom two then the ST would drop next season, which would affect the budget. If, however, you sign players in this window that can help the team into next season and make decent strides, then the ST sales would likely be okay as most fans would be optimistic
  2. I have no idea. I didn’t really see anything that would make me think we were apart from speculation on here. Personally I’d be inclined to believe he had a deal arranged with Cove before he left United
  3. Your speculating that we were when we may never have been. Correct. I should have used Coutinho instead
  4. Even more intrigued that @sick boy has liked this post
  5. Who even said we were in for Reynolds? Can’t believe we lost out on Wood to Newcastle ffs!
  6. Or did Rennie and Miller decide they were no good. We’ll never know
  7. Agreed, however, if clubs won’t loan players until they’ve done their business, what else can we do.
  8. We can get loans in up until the end of February
  9. Let’s not also forget that we were sitting either 1st or 2nd in these windows you’ve mentioned. We were in a far better position then than we are now. Im sure Rennie is working hard to get players in and as BPM has just said, I’m glad we’re holding out rather than signing players for the sake of it
  10. Unfortunately in January a lot of it is out of the manager/club hands
  11. I’m glad I’m not the only one here in absolute disbelief reading that. Managing a football team is so easy according to some of our supporters
  12. I don’t think you’re wrong as such, however, I’d rather have Dixon in the middle instead of Hall or McKay
  13. Why do you see 3 at the back as being defensive? Conte got Chelsea to play it and it was so effective that even Pep tried to copy him.
  14. What actually is this! We’re playing with three centre half’s, which in itself tells you we’ll be starting games with 3 similar players. Why wouldn’t Dixon be able to play in the middle of the three? Do you need to be right footed to play in the middle?
  15. Ruth away. Obviously making space for incoming players
  16. You said I’m gagging for us to sign him, which isn’t true.
  17. . You know everything about me from a couple of posts on a forum. I’ve stated several times I wouldn’t sign him for the club but I won’t sit and listen to delusional fans who make out like there are better options (based on football performance) out there we can get. People don’t want to believe that the club have went for him that much that they’re willing to let all rational thinking fly out the window to convince themselves we haven’t. I’m a realist and as I’ve pointed out numerous times, I can understand why the club may have went for him. It doesn’t matter now as by all accounts it won’t be happening but maybe you should stop being so simple and read everything I’ve said before jumping to conclusions!
  18. Miller gave them the ball just outside our 18 yarder for the first goal.
  19. I’m assuming you haven’t read anything I’ve written. I’ve always said I can understand why the management and club would go for him. He’s a proven goalscorer and has done it for a club floating about the bottom half of this league. So if a manager comes in on a short term deal and he’s to try get us promoted then of course he’d be likely to consider him. What is hard to understand about that?
  20. Again, for us to get a striker of that quality in January is almost impossible. I can understand why they’d possibly want him as there are no strikers out there that we could attract at the same level that is proven. You may get lucky and get an unproven striker that comes in and proves he is up to the task, however, that is a rarity.
  21. We were misfiring in front of goal till the last two games, which is why they may have been interested. Maybe the management team have decided well score enough now so no need for him
  22. I’ve said this to you before but for a manager looking for results, is there a better option that Goodwillie? The guy has scored 14 goals and is currently the league top scorer for a team that aren’t up the top fighting for the title. Im not advocating we should sign him but if your job is to get the team performing better and that’s all your basing signings on, then who could the manager get that’s better?
  23. I’ve been thinking this for the past 2 weeks
  24. I’m sure they were looking at both positions anyway so may just be a change of priority for now
