I think this has got to be the most unpredictable league in a number of years - We've not had a great pre-season but have made some decent signings. Beith without Fowler must be less potent than last season, Talbot have had a turbulent close season, Darvel even more so but still have more resources than everyone else you'd think, Pollok seem to be in transition but still have the basis or a good team and multiple comings and goings at every club. St Cadocs seem to have ditched their promotion winning team, all the others must fancy their chances of decent seasons at this stage. It's a very misguided person that predicts top 3 or bottom 3 1 Clydebank 2 Darvel 3 Talbot 14 Meadow 15 Arthurlie 16 Rob Roy With apologies to all

He wasn't a stand out in the 2 games against us last season ( despite scoring in both ) - but neither game was hugely memorable tbh. I did see him in a Friday game at Pollok when he was great. His goals obviously mark him out and he'll be a big loss to Beith if he's off

Hi ... just checked and yer right - none of them seem to use Palmerston. Remember a few years back doing a bit of analysis of travel times to and from SOS teams and I'm sure there were at least 2 used Palmerston but it's a while ago so could be wrong. Thanks for your reply

I'm not even sure why this is a point needing to be made. Rangers wouldn't buy a Scottish player that didn't have any Premiership experience these days ... although other Premier and Championship sides ( Celtic asides ) would possibly think about it. Hamilton bought Darien McKinnon from us when they were in the Championship

You'd be mad to discount Talbot or Pollok but there's been so much change its hard to say if it'll be too much

I'd not be writing Darvel off at all. Pollok and Talbot will have to recruit wisely though and might find it hard to hit ground running. We've done some decent business in close season and building on a decent season. Beith will also be on a high and St Cadocs and Gartcairn coming up strong. It's going to be as competitive as normal

It really depends who's in the final. The Bankies / Talbot final a few weeks ago attracted an attendance of approaching 2000 ( kids didn't have to pay ). If today's final had been same teams or Pollok or some of the other better supported teams were involved, then it would've been similar. Also for some folk this isn't a holiday so shooting in foot perhaps. A very successful season for Spartans. Was very disappointed to go out to them in the "Big" Scottish as they weren't in it until we handed them a goal. However given what they've managed to do then its mibbee we did quite well.

I want to be playing as high up the leagues as we can. I dont think Colt teams should be in the leagues, but if they are then if we have to be playing them to progress then so be it. It obviously goes eithout saying that we have to be in a position to win things first. Penalty scored and a red card to Talbot - I'm told the lino advised the ref to send him off and it was right in front of him - change the game. There wasn't a huge amount between the teams on the night. We need to be more consistent and 4th place then 4th or 5th place finishes suggests we're not all that far away.
