  1. Again we manage a result but there's certainly flaws in this team. Midfield to front disjointed. O'Hara was pish again. Thought the Alloa game might have been a turning point but he has continued to ghost about the pitch. Runs about but never seems to get near to the ball. Big shout to Turner, a guy I wasn't convinced about last year but was very good again when he came on.
  2. I wouldn't write him off. I think he had done ok in the midfield role. Reactions a pretty slow but decent when on the ball. I think Wilson is a much better option alongside Turner or McInroy but Whitaker is still a decent option to have for midfield. As a right back I thought it really exposed his lack of pace. We might have to use him on Saturday though necessity but would fear for him up against some of Ays attacking threats.
  3. Comrie looks to be out for Saturday. Martin having an MRI. Looks like he will be out for a while. Thought Whittaker was poor at right back on Saturday. Not sure who we play there now? Ian Wilson apparently played there before. Would rather have him in midfield though, think he's a really good signing. Stevie talking about being tight an narrow but still having a goal threat. Still think he is too cautious a manager but results prove him right so far. We should be trying to stay on the front foot more often. Too happy to sit back when we get in commanding positions.

  5. Probably the hardest fixture for us so far. Seen lots of good stuff in parts of our games, but it's getting on my tits how we keep sitting deep when we go ahead in games. Think we need to try staying on the front foot when we're dominating games.
  6. Yeah, still stick to the fact that we had really good ball retention and were very comfortable. Annoyed about that second half though. Crawford has the team far too deep when in winning positions.
  7. The last half hour of the first half, QOS could hardly get a touch of the ball. We were ''really good'' at that stage of the game.
  8. If we decided to turn up second half we would racked up a few. It was a job done attitude, shite goalkeeping and a stupid rash challenge that let Queens in. We look really good when we are on the front foot, some lovely football from us in that first half.
  9. Tried our best to throw that away. Poor from us second half. Why do we seem to play for one half every week. Took our time to find our feet in the first half, but when we did we played some really nice stuff. Deserved 2-0 lead at h/t. We need to stay on the front foot when we are dominating games. We're a bit too happy to go deep with a lead at times. OFW WTF. Wilson very rash too for their penalty (though he was good apart from that). Whittaker looks finished in all honesty. He was out on his feet after the hour mark. Slow to react to situation as well. Really hope Comrie is OK. Delighted to take the points and move on to Ayr.
  10. Expected more tbh but it's easy to forget how young he is. He never really got a consistent run of starts with us. Hopefully does well for Pars legend Stewart Petrie and Montrose.
  11. I'm guessing there's families with multiple season tickets watching one feed in the house.
  12. Think what they are saying is that they have committed to contracts and fixed costs. This is a commitment to outgoings but I don't think they are confirming they have the means to cover it from what I'm reading.
  13. Steven Bell prior to his injury was one of the best central midfielders I've seen in a Pars shirt. He had only played 2nd tier football, but could've gone much further. He came to us around 22/23 so not a youth product. I find it a waste of money and time having a youth system as poor as ours. You either scout and finance it properly and produce talents akin to Hamilton, Motherwell and Killie or scrap the youth teams and spend your money on guys 20-23 who have something about them. We've done far better in that market with Nisbet, Bell, Comrie etc. I've followed Pars since the late 80's and can think of McNamara (who was brought in at 18 from another team) as the only big money sales from the youth side. That's millions on youth investment over that time with hardly any income from it or even first team players produced.
  14. The examples of people who have gone on to ''bigger things'' amount to nothing more than being a Premiership reserve player for a season. Folk like Spence, White, MIllen and Rooney and Byrne. I can honestly say I still wouldn't want any of them back. I don't think it's fans. Too easy to blame. There are clubs that produce great talents but have even worse fans than ours. I actually doubt our scouting network has much of a far reach due to finance and also FIfe doesn't produce the same quality of footballers as Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. The best young talents are generally found in the West. I know there are some obvious exceptions to that , but in term of producing a high volume of quality young players, it's teams like Motherwell and Killie over the years who have done this successfully outside of the big Cities.
  15. Looked completely fine to me at the time. Greg Shields' work It should be.
  16. We've shipped out quite a few over the last few weeks, either on loan or out the door. Having no reserve team will be dictating a lot of these moves. Greg Shield's work from last year looks to have produced very little for the first team. Think I prefer using his skills on the first team anyway, as he's seems to have a lot to offer, to be just working with kids. Read a few of the first team players in interviews saying how great it has been working with him.
  17. We should win, but I never feel 100% confident as a Pars fan. AJ is a horseshit manager and their team on paper looks horrendous. 1-1
  18. Refuse to pay for pixie lott streams. Utter garbage. Great win today. Don't care how we did it. We all know were capable of playing good football, so a good sign that we can hammer teams when we don't. QOS....come on down

  20. He's does a lot of running to find space and that in it's self moves defenders around but you need to offer much more than that. In the rare moments he gets on the ball, he's lost possession with a bad touch or been bullied by a defender. The lack of quality on the ball is my biggest concern. Not saying this is a final judgement on him, just my initial thoughts. It's nothing to do with Kevin Nisbet as we have players currently at the club that have offered more up top anyway. The eyeball mocking is in the past, so please spare us the ''scapegoat'' stuff. These views are just initial observations. He's a striker that plays on the shoulder, hence the numerous off-side decision against him. Hopefully his timing and touch will improve the longer he's here. Confidence is a big part for striker too. Pars need to win games in the meantime and there's players coming off the bench and offering more at the moment. When he was replaced by Murray on Saturday, we instantly became an attacking force in the game. The front men started getting on the ball and it was sticking. We won the game due to that sub. We need to start with the team that finished Saturday's game at Alloa
  21. Thought I was the only one to notice this. I think he's good going forward and improving defensively. Certainly young enough to become a very good left back but Martin is still a better option by some distance at the moment.
  22. Only changes for me is Fraser Murray for O'Hara and Whittaker for Turner. O'Hara will have to prove himself from the bench from here. He quite a bit away from the required level at the moment. Terrible recent record against Alloa, but we could say the same with ICT.
