  1. Blair is a good solid keeper. Even the best have the occasional stinker. Blair will be back, Weir isn't error free by any means. Anyway, congratulations and good luck with the draw.
  2. Epic result. Good luck with draw. Easy win or easy money? I'd take the money every time.
  3. He said "keepers" plural, as opposed to the keeper, a big literary hint that he knew that.
  4. I wasn't even awake most of Saturday never mind at Stonehaven.
  5. Players seem to be taking turns having mares in threes and I don't know how you explain that or fix it. Before anybody starts, I know it's not solely down to that. Poor decisions all over the park cost us the ball too often for a 3 at the back defence to cope over 90 minutes. I'm not saying going back to 4 at the back is a cure all, as it doesn't resolve the rest, but we are shipping goals at a rate that doesn't justify persisting as is. They've got to get back to being a cohesive unit, but why they aren't and how you fix it I do not know.
  6. Very true. Weaknesses you got away with in league 2 get punished in league 1. Still, nice to see a Dumbarton side appearing to get stronger as the season progresses this time. Banging the goals in doesn't hurt either. Keep em coming.
  7. To be equally fair mate, we seem to have lost every gear except reverse.
  8. At this point only one thing comes to mind.
  9. I'm just glad to see you competing for the title. It's my only bright spot while we struggle in league one. Dreams are still allowed sons.
  10. I doubt that hammering has surprised many Binos supporters. The dross served up on the park has been begging for a doing for weeks. The scary part is there are no excuses to hide from reality behind. It's not due to injuries, suspensions, poor officials, or that ever classic favourite, "they're just not trying hard enough." It's just failures in basics every week and it's hard to see an end to it. I'm taking nothing away from the performances of the teams putting us to the sword. Their players are getting the job done and done well. Ours, well, ???
  11. Kurtis was playing in a crap side here too. He could have off days, but he worked like a Trojan. I thought letting him go was a mistake.
  12. That was an amateurish performance against an Alloa side well up for it. We weren't. Slack defending, little creativity, hit and hope punts, no punch up front. largely because of the midfield disfunction. It wasn't a pretty sight.
  13. I do it all the time mate. Anywhere in that retail park really.
  14. Stating the obvious, we need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.
  15. A hard place to get points. Good luck Binos.
  16. Usually you want a minimum of 15 points a quarter to be a title contender in the last quarter. At this point the top 5 teams have all achieved that. It's going to be interesting to see who can keep that up and who can't. I want Dumbarton to do it, but I'm not seeing them play so have nothing to base a prediction on. This quarter is going to answer a lot of questions and I hope the answers are good ones.
  17. It wasn't luck mate, Darren didn't even apply for the job. Stuart Brown met him at a dinner and talked him into wanting it. It was put to a board vote the next day.
  18. We've had some rough spots but happy with the first quarter. Darren's declared target was 13 points a quarter and he's got 14. Not sure if we could do better than that or worse, but no complaints about 14.
  19. We had a series of rookie managers and all ended in varying degrees of failure. Very few seem to succeed. I sometimes wonder if the few who do succeed, are the one's who go against the prevailing "wisdom" they hear when going for their coaching badges? Anyway, delighted to get 3 points out of this and best wishes Queens for the rest of the season.
  20. Tell me about it. I can't find the jersey I took out of the closet to put on after a shower.
  21. I'm just pleased you won, that's it really.
  22. Needless to say by the summer we were back in division 2. That's the Binos for you.
  23. Why is it it's the games we'd love to forget that we can't? Bloody memories, behave yourselves.
  24. I can't even remember that. Real humiliation is getting pumped out of the Scottish cup 5-1 at home to Lothian Hutchison Vale. You've never reached those depths so I envy you mate.
  25. If that was Aiky he went walkabout like an Aborigine a lot, so I doubt it. The last time I went to Palmerston, Harold Wilson was prime minister and Barry Ryan was in the charts with Eloise mate.
